Hey Sam I know I am late to this video lol, but I love your content. It's very relatable and overall helpful. It's crazy to see the rise and fall of Atlantic City being that I live in south jersey part time. As of right now it is making a huge comeback; 9 or 10 casino resorts are open at the moment.
Started at the Sands, then upon closure worked my way up to Resorts . . . then up to Showboat. Upon closure, changed location to other Ceasars properties - Harrahs & Ballys !
Much has changed there! I used to hang out there and Pleasantville in the mid nineties. Those were the good times! Used to take 40 East and West to come and go from there instead of the expressway just to enjoy the sites and ride. Haven't been there in sixteen years. A different world!
Atlantc City was booming in the late 80s to 90s because the only competition was in Nevada. I worked there from 89 thru 2017. Customer service sucked. The city did little to capitalize on the draw of the casinos. Ca Casino gambling in NJ was an experiment that had to succeed.
I used to live up north. I now live in Florida and sometimes think I'm missing something from up north. After watching this video I'm thoroughly convinced that I'm not missing a thing. Completely UNinspiring.
Aww Sam thanks for the memory refresher. My brother in law worked the casinos his whole life. Used to go once a year to visit when he was alive. But the only place in Jersey for me is Cape May. If I was ever held at gun point and had to move to Jersey the only place I would live is Cape May. And even as much as I love Cape May I would still have to be held at gun point to ever go back up there again. I am at the point I do not even want to go there for a funeral now. Just depressing and dark and ewww and those damn turn around places. Good god let us make a left hand turn for once.

I went there in late July and the water was oddly cold on the hottest day. Usually the water nice around the end of July, but it was warm in October when I went back. It still had great food and diversity though, which makes up for the cold water in my book.
I would not recommend moving into Atlantic City because there is too much Crime & Poverty.. if you were going to accept a job in Atlantic City I would live further South (Margate City or Longport) and commute to work. Best of luck to you ✌
I like the topic about the hooker's 😂 And when he said bad town man you need to come to Newark but I never go downtown shopping in AC I always just stay on the boardwalk
I just drove through the city a couple days ago for the first time since 2010 and was disappointed with the scenes. It just has this ghost town type of feel right now, and I know that it goes beyond a seasonal effect. It is Christmastime and there was not even that much foot traffic around where there are shops on the pier (the few that remain)....a lot of Caesar's restaurants seem to be permanently closed. It is sad, and I was by myself too, whihc made it seem even more desolate. Thank you for the detailed tour though, I drove around and did not see it like you showed....I'm hoping the city can turn around, I pray. I just hope that the Playground at leasst comes around for next summer and more action is seen there. What hurt the most was seeing a billboard ad for Mohegan Sun casino in CT on the way out (which supposedly does very well)

I can't wait to hit AC this weekend. I don't gamble but I like that it is quiet with miles of boardwalks and stores. I stay away from crowds.

You seem to be riding pretty smooth on Pacific ave. I remember it being like a roller coaster ride, up and down. Riding in the jitney was horrible.
