I lived there from 1974-86, worked for the AC Govt. and loved it. Casinos ruined the old AC charm, but "That's Progress" and "Money Talks" .... Bye-bye, many year-round residents....Seeing the name beginning with "T" on a couple of the hotels makes me more nauseous now than it did back then. Thank you. Thank you very much....
i,love my Atlantic City sooooooooooooooooooooooo much!!!!!!!!!!!!! thank's for posting such an amazing and awesome video!!!!!!!!!! you rock!!!!!!!!!! i,got to get to A.C. this summer!!!! my mom and i would go five to six times a year!!!!!!!!!!!! i,miss it!!!!!!!!!!!
This video was made sometime on the morning of 11/7/2012 (I would guesstimate around 9:00 am. Bikers still visible-Pier not opened yet.) The Boardwalk is normally quiet at that time of the day. Nothing unusual. No ghost town effect.. If you recall Hurricane Sandy had hit the town a week or so earlier and the City was completely closed. It did not reopen until 11/5/2012. (Two days before this video was made.) Placed looked real good IN SPITE of all that it had gone through. Very nice view of the Boardwalk. Regarding City itself. Every urban area has some problem areas. City will get better. In spite of those negative comments.
thats exactly the same as me john, thats the only reason watched this clip. I think George / Spencer the FBI man played the best. I hated him at first then ended up loving him. Should of had more of Al Capone tho
wow. look okay at all the noooooo people at scum corrupt bankrupt city. do yourself a favor. go to ocean city or wildwood. fun there plus safe. stay in bankruptcy city u get robbed or u get shot or stabbed
Obviously you either did not read my assessment of the video or chose to ignore the factors behind why the Boardwalk was so empty on that (and every day) at that time of the morning. But something tells me facts wouldn't matter and you just had something on your chest that you wanted to evacuate. Hope you feel better.
I love this video because I can use this clip to help me sleep. I am a huge fan of Atlantic City because it is a lot to do on the boardwalk. For example, there is the big mall, two different amusement parks, tons of stores, and the beach on the boardwalk. I have been going to AC back and forth with my family since 2004. My favorite hotel is probably flagship because it is at the end of the boardwalk. I also love flagship because the building can pass as a skyscraper, it is that tall. God Bless.
A well made video. Wish I had a similar one of Atlantic City circa 1950-60s . This Atlantic City I don't even recognize nor do I ever wish to see it in person. Its not the same place I knew as a child with its old classic hotels. Its all gone and what a shame too. Atlantic City the family resort is no more.
I lived in AC,Ventnor, my friend worked in Margate.i worked for trump marina, showboat, and pf chang's. loved riding my bike to work all along the boards, miss it.and my friends in nj.
Depressing is absolutely right. Used to live (and work) in A.C. from the late 70's till the almost 2000. Drove through recently. What a shame this place has turned into such an absolute dump.
How depressing Atlantic City has become. All those beautiful historic hotels of the 40s-70s all gone in favor of what? Legalized gambling? Well now that too is failing. That famous landscape known throughout America is all gone. You don't know what you have lost.
days inn morris ave right on the boards, best place to stay! country kitchen is good eats, rooms clean, front desk & valet are classy, cool folks, room rates very reasonable!
The distance from The Atlantic Club "near the start of the video" to Revel "just before the end" is right about 2 miles. I have a brisk pace so it takes me about 40-45 minutes.
No, that would be Seaside Heights, N.J. Further up the coast of NJ. And yes, it is a shame what has happened to that town. From what heard, the ENTIRE boardwalk and most of the shops on it are gone.
shawnmark17, I live a little more then an hours drive from A.C. If you can get a job in A.C. fine, but you really don't want to live there trust me! Jut off that beautiful boardwalk with it's glamorous casinos is a good old fashioned American ghetto complete with hookers, drug dealers and users and many other unsavory types. You would be far better off living outside A.C. and taking the bus/train into town. I have been a visitor to A.C. for more then 30 years, nice place to visit but.....
The Showboat is closing, Revel is up for auction, much of the ocean can't even be seen from the boardwalk anymore. Long story short, avoid AC at all costs.
No more Trump properties, no Wild, Wild West Casino . . . Sands just expired (not shown), at Korean War Memorial . . . Taj Mahal bankrupted, bought back to life. Showboat Hotel & Casino . . . casino expired. Glass prop on end went bankrupt within a year . . . now open, new name. management ! GOTTA UPDATE, be more detailed ! 🇺🇸
What an amazing video. I really miss those Trump casinos 🎰 ❤
I AGREE 💯 %!! I loved ALL THE TRUMP CASINOS ESPECIALLY THE CASTLE BACK IN THE 80’S!! SUCH A GLORIOUS TIME IT WAS!!

I was born in A.C. I miss the A.C. of the 60's!
Fantastic Atlantic City!
A well made video. Wish I had a similar one of Atlantic City circa 1950-60s . This Atlantic City I don't even recognize nor do I ever wish to see it in person. Ken David is the pay good in the casinos
I love AC so much
My goal is to go to Atlantic City sometime this summer or early fall, this year.

How long does it take (on average) to walk the boardwalk from start to finish in Atlantic City?
One hour!!
How depressing Atlantic City has become. All those beautiful historic hotels of the 40s-70s all gone in favor of what? Legalized gambling? Well now that too is failing. That famous landscape known throughout America is all gone. You don't know what you have lost.
It just breaks my heart to think of the Atlantic City that once was.
It looks very nice. It is very sad that majority of the places are closing.
days inn morris ave right on the boards, best place to stay! country kitchen is good eats, rooms clean, front desk & valet are classy, cool folks, room rates very reasonable!
Terrific !!
looks great what it like as a city to live in ?
thank you , very cool.

in summer is very busy here... but yeah, some casinos are closed...
Ol' Convention Center . . . Boardwalk Hall - where Ms America was chosen ! 🇺🇸
Not only is AC is a crap hole, try getting a room on a weekend....it's more than Vegas!
=The length of the boardwalk is 4 miles, so on average it would take 1 hour.
S south is my home i miss going on the board walk from that way
Atlantic City New Jersey Seafood & Sandcastles Video tour part 4!
No, that would be Seaside Heights, N.J. Further up the coast of NJ. And yes, it is a shame what has happened to that town. From what heard, the ENTIRE boardwalk and most of the shops on it are gone.
dangerous if ya go off the boarwalk
I miss the 60s
Definitely not the AC I knew back in the 60's.
I miss it too. I was born there. My father owned Green's Army & Navy on Atlantic and Ohio. It's now a bus terminal!
At the 17 minute mark is where the main area is ! STEEL PIER !

The Atlantic city boardwalk is just one thing the city has to offer, read about more here; hubpages.com/travel/6-Things-to-do-in-Atlantic-City
ac ! used to be america favorite playground
When I do visit AC, I go to the ocean club

All hail "Nucky" Johnson

This place is awesome but for swimming i like the water in wildwood better
im going the 27th this place is a ghost town now every things closed
I didn't see any Hillary casinos.
I saw a few Hillary bums.
You don't see any Trump ones anymore either... both Plaza and Taj went under...
I'm going on Tuesday Or Wednesday of August 2013
My favorite place is sugar
Adam Levine will strike you
You're right in the hood off the boardwalk.
City of Danger.
TROPICANA! But watch out for all the homeless creeps begging for money.
Andrew S i saw one
Is it really?? What even during the day?... i guess its like any major city you have to know where to and not to go and be sensible about it....
AUG 13, 14 AND 15th
had to increase height of the dunes to protect boardwalk properties...lost the ocean views
I do miss the ocean views from the boardwalk.
Where's Nucky Thompson?
HE ‘S A PIT BOSS AT BORGATA!!
The Showboat is closing, Revel is up for auction, much of the ocean can't even be seen from the boardwalk anymore. Long story short, avoid AC at all costs.
Shitty casinos replacing historic hotels so sad AC blew up its history and now must pay the price
why does everybody stare at you ?? its very weird

boardwalk grille
Comment we don't need that music it's annoying nobody wants to tell us about Atlantic city. Talk Talk Talk
Wildwood is vastly superior
No, it's not. Atlantic City is the greatest. Better than the Bahamas !!
+Gary Freedman. I would take the Bahamas anytime over Atlantic city especially on a nice big cruise ship.
AC is dead because we PA are kicking their ass.
how's the beach there?
They need to bring AC back to being for the family's... Get rid of those Casinos...Wildwood is now more for the family & Cape may...
It looks very nice. It is very sad that majority of the places are closing.
