In general the before and afters are so brief (sometimes a split second) that I don’t have enough time to hear the difference. My ears aren’t that trained.
Happy New year and Thanks. I use a lot of Waves Plugins and you just provided the best video I have yet watched on getting a super tone out of a vocal using Waves plugins. I love your channel!
I have no idea if anyone will see this but I'd advise trying to find a different doubler plugin like the evantide h3000 or the one from soundtoys. The waves one can often create phasing issues, I've heard it myself and also have seen a couple engineers online talk about it. Love this channel tho!
I always felt like its really robotic and just fucks up the mix so i turned it down like on 15-20% volume and it gave the voice more power without fucking it up. But i definitely try to find a better doubler. Im gonna check the evantide.
What I realized is that vocals when recorded in a good environment and good mic, they require less work. I always thought effects (delay, reverb,...) need to be on a different channel.
@@marcusx3605 no they werent hence why he used the mix knob to turn down the amount being applied. If they were on sends then the mix knobs would b at 100 percent for both the Hdelay and the Rverb and he would control the amount the the sends on each channel.
Generally yes, but there isn't a rule against using them as inserts. General rule of thumb is an insert will occur before the signal (vocal) and a send will occur after. reverb and delays are both time based effects and usually occur after the signal is engaged for best results but what he did can fundamentally work aswell
Do you really suggest to use the GW Voice Centric as a stand alone plug-in without any other on the chain? Did I really get it right? Thx a lot for your tutorials. They help so that much!👍
This may be a stupid question, but when you create a vocal chain, do you have to adjust the vocal volume in every plugin or only on the vocal chain itself?
Depends on what you want, but generally controlling the lows to low mids, mids to high mids scooped a tiny bit, and controlling highs like mentioned in this vid is good! Thats what I do!
I've been using the R-Channel from Waves lately on the vocal bus. It's a great little plugin that really pulls the sound together.
You know what is missing from these videos
1 final before & after with all the chain turned off & on.. To notice the dramatic change of the sound
This is the most important thing he messed up
.

That lo-air was dope. I never thought of using it on vocals.
Great to hear you enjoyed it!

Would love to see a fabfilter vocal chain!

This is facts! I don't like the doubler plugins from waves. The phasing is a definite issue

That's true.

I'm almost convinced other than maybe adding a little color to the vocal, that first compressor was inaudible in the mix.
Don't worry your not alone I feel the same
Bro thank you I knew I couldn’t have been bugging
YEAHHHHHHH. Perfect.. good one again my friend.. Thank you..

should reverb and delay be used as send efefct ?
They can be!
nice video, what would be th eq settings for a deep male voice?

@@trextonhaldeman323 completely agree!
Are you using stereo plugins or mono? I don’t think that was mentioned in the video. Thanks for the video!
That depends solely on the source track. Most are mono, but you can process stereo tracks with the stereo plugins .
which Mic and what preamp were used?!
I use Voice Centric from time to time
I don't really hear the difference in MV2
Thank you very much
nice
Thank you!
Are you putting all these plugins on an insert or bus?
I'm assuming an insert!
Trap waves vocal chain?
Apparently, youre using Q10 and not 6
Whats the name of the artist and the song
doubler should be used in send / aux / buss or , in same channel strip of vocals?
no such thing as SHOULD b when mixing but generally we do hear effects after the signal is engaged yes.
Thanks
Dope!
How do you get that Crispy song on the Vocal
Probably a very good microphone and engineer recording the vocal
Nice!
but now tell me whats the songs played 😭
You always using female vocals for these type of videos. I'd love to see how you would handle the low mids of a male vocal take.
🔥🔥🔥
Thanks for watching!
Great
Funny how wave centric sounds better than everything else u did before together
Lo air will mess up the subs.

waves is a love/hate
Sadge... I can't hear shit.
