Great video and seems like an excellent processing chain. I’ve heard that it is best not to send tuned vocals to the singer’s monitor mix as this may work against them hitting notes correctly - does this whole processed vocal chain get sent to the monitor mix or do they receive something different?
Could you make a better video on how to use the normal channels with Waves SuperRack together with the LR? You have a video that talks about how to use auxiliary numbers from 1 to 6, Could you make a video explaining how you would do this using the "USER" method? (custom) ? Example: Processing Drum, Channels (1 to 10) and also processing the LR?
Did you manage to do it? Set the auxes to card 1-6 and inserts in the lr aux 1 and aux 2 so card 1-2 will be master, we did the same insert on 4 other mixes, vox amd drums groups
Love your videos and I use them as training for our tech team at our small church. I am struggling to get my Super Rack Performer to connect with my X32 Compact via the X-USB card.
For some reason my Windows Laptop @@jacksonabang7077 My Windows Laptop recognizes the X USB Driver and I can set that as the Mic and Speaker but when I go to Super Rack Performer to set the Input X USB is not an option. Frustrating.
Drew, you have been a great resource for learning and we all appreciate you. Thank you. Now the big question. When I purchased super rack a few days ago I had not heard it mentioned that you can no longer use your XLIVE to playback your tracks while you dial in all these settings. That has been incredibly detrimental to me and is also the reason I have yet to use super rack in a live setting. Can you clarify with us all on what to do here and how to get a virtual sound check just like you did here. It seems we may have to go through an entirely new process with additional software like Jacks or something. Thank you.
I tried this using the normal method using aux inserts for sending and returning to and from SuperRack Performer while using Waves Tracks live to send audio from PC to mixer. however, i noticed some weirdness about it. I noticed that during playback even with my insert disabled on a channel, I still notice a change in the sound production once I connect that channel to one of the auxiliaries. the channel begins to sound some how a bit distorted like it has some audio artifacts or something. However, once i enable the insert it begins to sound normal again. i will still play around with it and see what i find out.
I don’t understand why you would want to configure it this with waves on the aux or L/R Would just running waves on each input you’d like yield the same result as waves on L/R?
Hi Drew, I’ve seen engineers use waves tune at the top of the vocal chain and some at the end, is there a specific reason why you place it at the end of the chain?
Hey Drew, quick question. How are you utilizing multitrack playback with your card as the card is being used for superrack performer in this instance. Is the multitrack being sent to superrack performer and then back out to the console?
It seems like newer sound people use plugins as a volume control and the result is an over compressed and unclear sound. Instead, think of these plugins as tone control to bring out the best and cut out the distracting tones. So the rule to follow is the level going into the plugin is the level going out of the plugin. Follow this onto the next plugin and the next. The exception is for the first plugin which sets the level for the rest of the plugin chain. And the level control (aka. Mixing) is done at the faders.
I enjoyed the interesting video. There is a question. Of course, the music you listened to as an example would be multi-recording, not live. I think x32 is connected to performer, how did you play multi? from s.korea
Always the best in this mixing industry, please can you make a video using all 32 channel with waves plugins.
Waves only videos coming? Would love to see this done with Live Professor as well with non Waves plugins.
How are you routing those tracks from the card and also using Superrack?
can you show me how do you virtual sound check with the waves performer thank you
This is what I was curious about as well

Monitors recieve the sound directly from the mixer, from original channel. So singers hear real-time audio

That old video was a little confusing about processing LR MAIN
It would be very helpful if you could add a profile from Waves to your store.

How are you using the multitrack playback with your card as the card is being used for superrack performer, How are you using both at the same time?

How would you use waves reverbs and delays and run them back to and aux send on the console?
