    Great video! I have an old Ikan EC1 and it is able to balance the Pocket 4K and 6K perfectly with prime lenses. I've even used the Tokina 11-20mm on it. The motors really struggle with the Tokina though and make a lot of noise. The EC1 is able to balance the Pockets because the horizontal roll-axis arm is adjustable and comes out enough to counter the width of the Pockets. The only thing is that it's dated and I want to be able to use the remote control features when I mount it on a boom pole or small crane. But I have made countless great shots with the Pocket 4K/6K with the EC1.

    First of all love your channel and can’t believe I wasn’t subscribed until now. That being said, in the short shots from the bmpcc6k there is microwabble in the footage, I had the same issue with my bmpcc4k and some bigger lenses when using the weebill s. I didn’t have micro wabble when using smaller lenses with the Blackmagic. Also when using lumix cameras the micro wabble is not present in a lot of setups and even easier to use just like your eos R.

    • @kolecava

      Those cameras have better balance distribution (centre of gravity) in-body plus IBS. This can be overcomed with either OIS lens, changing motor parameters (less/more power) or re-balancing. P4K/P6K with heavier lenses is a BITCH to balance.

    • @ReachFilms
      @ReachFilms 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I did a video on using this gimbal actually from the same merchant, it is an amazing gimbal for the money, my goal is I did not want people to be surprised if they used heavy setups and the footage does not come out nearly as clean or buttery smooth as the lighter setups do

      @OfTwoLands  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for watching and really glad you like our work :).
      I think yes if you intend only to use zoom lenses which is not very recommended with gimbals as always it can happen but I had no issue with primes. I will most likely use my Eos R for gimbal work most of the time on a job since the combo gimbal/AF is hard to beat. But you can definitely use the Pockets especially with primes. Cheers

    Interesting solution with the clamp on weights. When I got an early gimbal, I found I had to custom machine adapters for almost all my cameras. it made using it a pain.

    • @OfTwoLands
      @OfTwoLands  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah it works pretty well and it a very cheap option. You only need it for the bmpccs since they have a awkward shape. The Eos R balances very easily :).

    Amazing video. Short explanations but very clear ones. I literally just bought the Tilta Gravity G2X HOURS before you uploaded this video 😑. I’ve heard and seen some videos in which the Weebil S’s motors can’t hold the Pocket 4K with a Rokinon Cine DS prime lens and and a Samsung T5 SSD with the full cage, then the motors started “twitching” or they were not keeping up with the load. Thats why I bought the Gravity which was cheaper, but I still have my doubts hahah. Thanks for this great video! Keep it up!

  • @kevinplatt

    • @OfTwoLands
      @OfTwoLands  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks for watching !! I think yes if you intend only to use zoom lenses which is not very recommended with gimbals as always. I had no issue with primes. I like the Ronin and used it for a couple of years but the weight was a bit much for long hours and the balancing/carrying wasn’t as easy since it had no locks. Both great products, I just like the Weebills because it is more convenient and does the same job with the two kits I use :). Cheers

    • @OfTwoLands
      @OfTwoLands  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It really is a great gimbal !! Yes, but only to balance the Sigma lens as it is quite a heavy one. I always use primes on gimbal so then only the clamp and one counterweight is enough.

    I have been using the Big Brother the Crane3 for my BMPCC4K and its lot heavier than Weebill S. Crane 3 is surely big and it can be difficult one to carry both during the shoot and while Travel. For the Focus Motor, i have the Tilta Focus and i am still try to figure out on placing the focus motor on the lens.

    • @OfTwoLands

      @OfTwoLands  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depends on the camera. 16-35 f4 for the Eos R and primes lenses for the bmpcc6k, the Zeiss 28 or 18 are a good option.

  •  4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have been binge watching your videos, lots of good info. I have a BMPCC 4K and I’m thinking to get the weebill S. Is there a lens that can be used on the black magic that won’t require the counterweights? Thanks!

    • @OfTwoLands
      @OfTwoLands  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you so much for the support !! I am not sure since the counterweights are used to balance the actual body of the camera. To be honest you don't really feel them. Pretty light package when you don't have to balance a big lens.

    Still not sure this is the right gimbal for the BMPCC 6k, seems like the Ronin S is only viable option under 1k atm, unless someone can prove me wrong...

      I like the Ronin S and used it for a couple of years but the weight was a bit much for long hours and the balancing/carrying wasn’t as easy since it had no locks. Both great products, I just like the Weebill S because it is more convenient and does the same job with the two kits I use. Using a prime on the bmpcc6k on the Weebill S was the same experience as the Ronin S except the Weebill was lighter and faster to set up.

      Of Two Lands how do you compare your experience with ronin S compare to Weeble S in a sense of stability? I am planning to use prime lenses on it (Samyang/Rokinon)
