Thank you very much for this kind of review. I own a 2022 land cruiser prado in Panama. we too here have a cimate very similar as yours. very hot and very rainy season too. My Prado is a VX grado that has the KDSS but not the AVS nor the rear air suspension. It came with 19in wheels and my man.. we dont get in Panama 265/55R19... its no available unless you make an special order... simply too expensive.. so i made a change to 17 in tires... I would like to know about how much fuel economy have you lost with this tire and how much the comfort has changed, do you feel the road more? harsshere? bumpy ride?

Hi, I do mainly highway driving and touring on motorways: I get about 8L/100km. Around town with stop/start driving it’s more like 9.7L/100km

Not been a real problem, marginally louder but not really .

Hi, now you have driven the ildpeaks for a few days, how do they go for noise at highway speeds. Particularly as compared to the Grandtreks that came off. Also, you were keen on the Maxis Razr, what made you change your mind?

Hi mate, look I think the Grandtreks were marginally quieter but to be honest it’s negligible. The Grandtrek AT 20 is basically a highway tyre. I’ve driven about 400 highway Kms now on the Wildpeaks and they are quiet. At 80-90 k they were recording 45-50dB on one of these iPhone apps. I was in a mates Golf R the other day and that’s on low profile Pirellis and I opened up the same app and recorded about 65-70dB on a highway at 100k. I read loads of reviews, watched utube videos and narrowed it down to either the Wildpeaks or the Yokohama Ge015….. I got the Wildpeaks for $260 each fitted whilst the Yokohama were a bit dearer. The Wildpeaks have better ratings on local and US sites as well. So far I’m happy with my choice. That video I shot in really wet weather convinced me it’s a good tyre.

@@PradoPlacesOz Hi Pete, thanks for the great review, and the real world sound level measurement. Never thought of using my phone as a sound level meter. Smart idea.
I am guessing the Wildpeak AT3W 116T are the ones you purchased, where as the LT ones are Wildpeak AT3W 120S ?. Both tread tyres seem to have the same tread pattern in the photos on Bobby Janes site. I am about to do a road trip, and so want to replace the grandtreks with the Wildpeaks. Would prefer the ones you have just purchased. Still checking it out.

      Yes the 116T I bought.

Yes correct, the LT are 120S, stiffer and more ply I believe, heavier per tyre and likely slightly noisier. I suspect mpg also a bit worse as more weight to turn per wheel

Wait till you have about 50K 's on the tyres then see hiw they are.
I have the bridgestone Duler A/T light truck tyres on my d max ( which was recomended to me by the dealer).
Have done around 50K on them and to be honest im pissed off with them as they are noisy.
Went back to the same dealer with the intention of changing to something else and he was only going to give me an allowance of 95 per tyre.
    He also said to me
( what else do you expect ) with those tyres of course they will become noisy as time goes on never been off road in them

I’ve done about 10K on them now including aroad trip from NSW to Tassie. So far so good. Wearing well and noise not noticeably worse so far. Thanks for the heads up though.
