@nachowayne Hey there Wayne - I'm going to guess these shrimp were store bought, at least mostly. I had added a dozen store-shrimp to a 29g planted tank, which had 3 or 4 wild-shrimp, that ended up 'emergency' housing a huge cichlid - who trashed it. After moving the cichlid a month later, I was surprised to find these 6 adults still alive and moved them to a 15g cray tank. Maybe I'll put a cray video up next. The babies are pretty neat - hatched out smaller than the baby shrimp in this video!

How do you determine which one is male or female, and bout how many babies do they give birth to?

If you don't have another aquireim handy, do you think the baby shrimp could be housed in a bucket until they're big enough to survive with the others? (i have 4 ghost shrimp, 1 is pregnant and also 4 african dwarf frogs) Please let me know ASAP!!!! Thank you :)

Also, use liquid fry food. Talk to your fish store as not all stores carry it (found our PetSmart didn't carry it, so hubby drove 70 miles round trip to get food for shrimp that you can buy adults for 36 cents, lol. Still it's fun to raise them - but not easy. Good luck to you :)

When I was diving I saw something that looked like this. It cleaned my hand. The instructor said that it was called a glass shrimp. Is this a glass shrimp?

Yes some people call them ghost shrimp some call them glass shrimp i forget there real name though

Benjamin A. Herder glass shrimp are marine ghost shrimp which are usually sold in pet stores as live fish food are freshwater
