no door either, using a stone block to stop them leaving and short upright poles set back as markers to throw meat the perfect distance to land on the 1/4 tiles
@@cracksworth I cannot upload as I cannot video edit. it's basically the same but i extended the framing to go a 1/4 floor tile wider and a 1/4 floor tile deeper tile deeper with a checker board floor as in this video. (no floor tile in the last row) 2x1 stone blocks up both sides. Looking from the front entrance 1st floor row = tile space tile (checkerboard) 2nd floor row= space tile space (checkerboard) 3rd floor row = empty/beam across back stops them At the entrance I put stone blocks 2x1 and 1x1 Instead of the angled beams at the top in this video I put some small uprights on the floor that I could run up to and throw the meat. just move these back and forth till you get your distance right. when throwing use Ctrl and click when in the menu. So in a nutshell its basically the same framework but extended and encased from both sides in stone and made a 1/4 tile wider and a 1/4 tile deeper delete any unnecessary framework once you have your stone supporting it.
It's probably easier to set up if you made a bridge above that tower with a hole to fall in and then make ramps to lead the wolves above it and push them into said holes. A lot more construction work but you can easily 'break' pieces to clear it once you are done with the wolves.
So i finished mine! I prettied it up and added a staircase up, some better walls, a hidden workbench underneath on the OG floor, and a roof so I don't feel AS bad about my puppy mill... but.. I am breeding one star wolves, and have had 1 wolf fall out of the bottom when I swung the gate open. I am marking this down to because I didn't remove the roof ramp yet and it was clipping into their pen. My wolves have bred two puppies - puppy #1 apparently decided it was going to come out into this world on top of its mom's head. Puppy #2 is on the platform on the floor. They now no longer wish to breed because of that- so we will see what happens when the puppies grow up!
@@Firespark81 puppy mill update... 4 days later I have given up on trying to manually shove them in, they keep popping out after opening the door a few times or even sometimes on their own. Manually putting them in I can't get them side by side. Pups keep getting stuck as well, so they stop breeding - then grow up inside and don't actually fall out. Time to get me a harpoon to add to my animal abuse and start playing around with the design more!
Don't trouble yourself with making a feeding contraption for the enclosure. There's a bug with wolves where they can eat meat on top of a wooden floor as long as it is less than 5 blocks above them. Yes, even when a wolf is on the ground and you put meat on a wooden floor 4 blocks above it, the wolf can still eat it lol. Which is why you don't need that complicated feeding contraption. Just put a wooden floor above them and put meat on top of it, they'll still eat it ;)
@@user-mg8gb8gm7i lol ikr. You don't know how many wolves I've had to kill because feeding them in the enclosure was so darn complicated. Until I accidentally discovered the bug. So now I just put a wooden floor on top and put meat on there looool. Just had to make sure it was at least 5 blocks above the pit because the wolves down the pit can eat the meat as well lmao. I tested this and found it is similar to the distance needed for breeding.
@@Fuujikage Haha I think I noticed this when messing around with this build: Kept throwing stacks of meat in but at the wrong angle, they fell through but the wolves in the box still somehow ate them. Wasn't happy with the build because of the unreliable food delivery, but if this works it will be super easy and convenient to integrate, thanks!
As of the patch 0.155.7, wolves are just refusing to eat in their boxes. I've tried giving them room and everything. For some reason, if they're on the ground, they'll run up to a piece of meat on the ground or even on a wood building. just not if they're standing on one. So annoying.
First off, great content Firespark! lots of great ideas on your channel, including the breeding pens. I've noticed this too, I tried making the box a little bigger thinking it was a free area thing but they still wouldn't eat. Looks like they may have patched in a height metric for animals to eat... Edit: it's not the height, it's the unlevel floor, I added a few 1x1 so they have a level floor to stand on and they started eating again...the pups don't fall out as easily but on the other hand you lose less meat falling thru the floor and getting eaten by the ravenous horde on the ground lol. Cheers!
Wolves now need solid ground to be able to path to food and breed. I came up with my own version of an infinite breeder. Trying to get him to spread the new design, since I have learned a lot from him and want to return the favor.
Works with 1 star just finished it. They might fall off if you push them misaligned somehow during entry but you can fill in the gaps at first place the wolves in and then break the floor.
Lol I joined when valheim first came out and was like what's this toxicity all of a sudden. Great content man love what your doing. I've grinded for 2 weeks on valheim and got bored, but your videos bring me back.
You made that way harder than it had to be... dig a pit somewhat like a moat and just build a tiny shack that's elevated with a tiny staircase and you're done
I really enjoy the condescending humour. I know it’s all jokes man. I’d love to know what normally triggers the base attacks. As in, what prerequisite are needed for them to happen. Do you need to have specific workbenches and/or building size? Thank you for your hard work! Cheers!
I added some floors on the side to let them out. Pushed them in. Then the breeding began. But I'll have to see if any get stuck. So far so good. But be sure to put beams high enough so they don't fall off.
just made one of these and works amazing. Honestly, building this was the relaxing part compared to finding and breeding a two star wolf and shipping two pups halfway across the map by sea. one note about 2 stars in this build: you can do it exactly as is but they will end up on top of each other instead of side by side. Just throw your food in and they will continue to breed as normal. I tried moving them with a harpoon while already inside the cage and it doesn't seem there's room for them to side by side.
You can probaly skip the roof on top if you just make a box that is 1-2 meters under so wolf falls down when you pull him. And no need for doors after either.
Also be prepared to the game trying to compromise your breeding operation by constantly coming up with events such as The Hord is attacking or those Bats from stirring the Coldron.
That should only be a problem in the construction phase. If your breeder is up & running those events will be dealt with pretty easily by insane amounts of wolves. Anyways, always keep 2 wolves somewhere else outside rendering distance!
...having just watched your pig video while trying to figure out if i want to try this out before it launches... anyone who has an issue with that farm probably never played minecraft.
NO, we need a lava blade now to kill and cook the wolves lol, awesome how you came up with this, all that pushing and rolling is too much work for me lol

There is no need to cover any other games than Valheim, since all my other games I usually played for dailies only are currently collecting dust. This is because I never notice that I've been sitting in my computer chair for nine hours until it's too late to play anything else. And I'm sure there are many, many others finding themselves in the same situation...
Gotta love people complaining the way something looks, because its not built for looks, its built for function, if i recall, your last video with the boars, right at the start you said "You can clean this up however you want, this is just the base you need to start with" unless i was mistaken, i mean with how much this games gives us to play with, im sure people can use their imagination and put their own twist on your and many others ideas that have been posted for this game, there's no reason to 100% copy paste unless you truly have no imagination
I just did this for my pigs. Did not to think to dig down. The gate was the final key to getting them inside. I had to slam the door shut. It was the only way to push them both into a 1 x 1 box. But now its raining piglets. I give the devs a week before they program piglets to not grow if there is more then 7 in a 5 square radius.
I’m having a few problems with this setup. I tried 1star and 2star wolves and they keep piling up 4 deep inside and stop breeding. The Cubs keep finding a place to sit without falling. I let them grow up to full size and all four were in there full size.
The next update is gonna be great. Before they release is they plan to fix bugs and all sorts of glitches that are happening before cause they want the game to function before adding more content that might break the game.
@Firespark81 As I understand it, 2 star wolves will only spawn at night in the mountain biomes, and their taming timer only advances during the night. Do you know if this is accurate and/or can you confirm this?
Almost entirely accurate, the taming timer does advance during the day, however they only eat at night and due to the length of the timer, they will never eat more than once per night.
I just had an issue with this, that when i opened the door, the wolf popped out of the side. I don't see how it happened. But I guess I can temp until they fall into place, place two beams on the sides to prevent this. Because once it. I shouldn't need to open the door again.
I like the path for the pit, that's a good way to do it. One problem with this design though, how are my infinite wolves gonna defend my base from the pit? I want to rain them from the sky so they can wander freely and kill indiscriminately.
The boar frame wasnt even that bad. I even used the iron posts and walled it all in. It was a bit of a pain getting it set up after the boars were in though. 😆

@@here-is-my-profile can you share your design? I have this one. It worked at the start but not cubs dont drop down.
@@cracksworth I cannot upload as I cannot video edit. it's basically the same but i extended the framing to go a 1/4 floor tile wider and a 1/4 floor tile deeper tile deeper with a checker board floor as in this video. (no floor tile in the last row)
2x1 stone blocks up both sides.
Looking from the front entrance
1st floor row = tile space tile (checkerboard)
2nd floor row= space tile space (checkerboard)
3rd floor row = empty/beam across back stops them
At the entrance I put stone blocks 2x1 and 1x1
Instead of the angled beams at the top in this video I put some small uprights on the floor that I could run up to and throw the meat. just move these back and forth till you get your distance right. when throwing use Ctrl and click when in the menu.
So in a nutshell its basically the same framework but extended and encased from both sides in stone and made a 1/4 tile wider and a 1/4 tile deeper delete any unnecessary framework once you have your stone supporting it.
The constant howling would drive me batty.
I would suggest you show how it works and then how to build it.
Learnt alot from this, you can have a basement for your house and you can breed wolves (factory farm style).
Puppy mill hahahaha!
Time to get me a harpoon to add to my animal abuse and start playing around with the design more!
didn't include the wood for the workbench... Dislike the video.
But forreal, Great video thanks for all the Valheim videos!
Oh you forgot to acct for the workbench!! Lol
Love the it!! Stay awesome man!
Just put a wooden floor above them and put meat on top of it, they'll still eat it ;)
You just saved me so much trouble! My wolves keep popping out everytime I open the door to feed them lol
My wolves aren't eating the meat even after I got it in the right place. I'll have to try your method
I had to redesign my pen because the old breeder no longer worked. They never saw the food.
As of the patch 0.155.7, wolves are just refusing to eat in their boxes. I've tried giving them room and everything. For some reason, if they're on the ground, they'll run up to a piece of meat on the ground or even on a wood building. just not if they're standing on one. So annoying.
same

Trying to get him to spread the new design, since I have learned a lot from him and want to return the favor.
always like your humor
Works with 1 star just finished it. They might fall off if you push them misaligned somehow during entry but you can fill in the gaps at first place the wolves in and then break the floor.
Lol I joined when valheim first came out and was like what's this toxicity all of a sudden. Great content man love what your doing. I've grinded for 2 weeks on valheim and got bored, but your videos bring me back.
I for one cant wait until we get new content. Even if its just a new build set.
That howling though....
You made that way harder than it had to be... dig a pit somewhat like a moat and just build a tiny shack that's elevated with a tiny staircase and you're done
No star wolves may indeed be trash, but they can kill a deathsquito... some of the time, and only if they are at full health.
they are not if you breed over 20 or 30 of them, just killed a troll in a sec
I really enjoy the condescending humour. I know it’s all jokes man. I’d love to know what normally triggers the base attacks. As in, what prerequisite are needed for them to happen. Do you need to have specific workbenches and/or building size? Thank you for your hard work! Cheers!
@jesse m awesome! Thank you! Cheers!
"Your no stars are trash" excccccuse me. Me and the hunting gang oppose your sass of their no stary-ness
Agreed, who needs stars when you have numbers. Go wolfpack!
Method broken in Hearth and home update. Wolves will be pushed out of the space when opening the door, won't detect food, and won't breed.
NO, we need a lava blade now to kill and cook the wolves lol, awesome how you came up with this, all that pushing and rolling is too much work for me lol
did he forget the 10 wood for the workbench?
I appreciate you firespark your builds are great and people don't appreciate you to complain about the boar build . they lazy as it don't cost nothing to build and the wolf one is a mess of a hole haha but keep being you and doing it your way as you will never do right in this day and age so stick to your way . Peace And Love my dude
The commentry of a man who's over explained one too many builds , take a day off brother . Love the vids mate keep it up ++
Take a shot every time he says 'grab', RIP.
Nah dude please not, if I start taking a shot each time he says it I will become an alcoholic, that's like his favourite word
So I should say it more.....? Or put it on a shirt and add it to the merch shop? Also, my favorite word is moist not grab. lol
@@Firespark81 Put on a t-shirt! I'd grab one from your merch store ;)
There is no need to cover any other games than Valheim, since all my other games I usually played for dailies only are currently collecting dust. This is because I never notice that I've been sitting in my computer chair for nine hours until it's too late to play anything else. And I'm sure there are many, many others finding themselves in the same situation...
Does this work with boars too? I thing this is would be more practical than building a whole tower to get the same result.
Eh its all good. I just like giving you all shit. lol
A week? The game is still in alpha, devs have higher concerns and it is not a big issue imo
I’m having a few problems with this setup. I tried 1star and 2star wolves and they keep piling up 4 deep inside and stop breeding. The Cubs keep finding a place to sit without falling. I let them grow up to full size and all four were in there full size.
dont ever apologize for your jokes!
Also, by the way, LOVE the snark, it made the video even better. XD
This is accurate AND a pain in the butt. The tamed wolf WILL despawn or run away so you need to breed it, the pups behave normally.
@@persika.r34 Does using a workbench will make the wolf not despawn even if we go elsewhere?
@@axelarnaud7547 No, using a workbench does not keep them despawning if it's outside of your draw distance.
Love the sas lol great video as usual
I did everything like you did but the wolf are staking up to 4 and it seems to mess around with the breeding. Using the door doesn't push them out
I like the path for the pit, that's a good way to do it.
One problem with this design though, how are my infinite wolves gonna defend my base from the pit? I want to rain them from the sky so they can wander freely and kill indiscriminately.
great vid man thanks
Me watching how to build wolf farm and letting my 2 2stars wolves run free and came back to them conquering the starting island
The boar frame wasnt even that bad. I even used the iron posts and walled it all in. It was a bit of a pain getting it set up after the boars were in though. 😆
