Great video. I bought a used g920 and it was solid at first but after a few weeks of heavy drifting it developed a slight wobble and it transfers into the general feel of the wheel when the ffb kicks in.
Damn, my wheel has not even been used extensively and already has that problem!!! I think Logitech is getting low quality products. And you, my estimated TH-camr, thx so much for your simple and easy to understand video.
Very helpful disassembly guide, thanks. Tightening screws didn't eliminate the play/wobble on my G923 unfortunately. I think however I was able to spot the root cause on a second go-around - the plastic housing for the shaft bearing has cracks in several places, close-to and following the plastic housing's circumference, meaning the bearing isn't fitting snug and anchored by the housing in those areas any longer. The grease coming through those cracks made them easier to spot. No expert but it looks like even if those areas could be de-greased and araldited, they'd remain weak spots and would likely crack again on a subsequent vigorous simracing session. A shame but I guess one of the tradeoffs Logitech made when designing this and other wheels, the plastic is light and inexpensive but ultimately unable to withstand the forces a sweaty gamer is likely to subject it to!
Thanks for this video mine has the same wobble. And you saved me a little time instead of breaking it down myself and figuring it out. Appreciate the video
I've been using my wheel for drifting for a couple years now and it has quite the wobble in all directions. I will be trying this later and ill let you know if it resolves my issue! Great video
Hi, I have a little question. When I move my steering wheel very slightly (i.e. without even turning the system and motors), there's a sort of slight looseness in the steering. It's really minimal, but on games with little movement, it's noticeable. I wanted to know if this was the case on all G29/920 models? Thank you
It doesn't matter how you tighten screws, since they put a 6910RS bearing and it is the main source of wobbling in g923/920/g29. So firstly you should buy new 6910 bearing, preferably SKF/NTN/FAG, replace it, and than make sure that you've assembled it right and tight.
Excellent video thank you. Logitech however have a sin not SIM to answer for build quality is absolutely terrible and customer service is even worse 😢 I'll be changing gear while I can only thing holding me back is playstation who aren't exactly loyal to customers either 😂
Got all the way in there and everything was tight. Triple checked those screws and put everything back together, still have the same amount of wobble. 🤷🏾♂️
@@phillipyno4808 same. Logitech needs to fix the issue or stop selling these at their current price. Total ripoff. Can’t even use the wheel how it’s meant to be used without damaging it.
My logitech g923 has a little play in the steering, i think about 1mm where it wobbles when you turn it very slightly. What can I do about it? Maybe tighten the screws behind the steering wheel?
I have the same issue with my g 920 and it wobble a little when i push it side a side, i did the same just now and still the same, all was tight and solid, i think its the base itself, im just buying a metal steer base for my g 920, its solid and maybe it will fix my problem, if it just wobble when the wheel its centered, then its ok,it wont brake and if it does, warranty kicks in, i hope it helped
The 3 big screws are giving me a ton of trouble.. they were super tight getting out and now I can’t get them all the way back in. I’m pretty sure not they’re stripped from all my efforts
*USE LOCK WASHERS ON THE 3 LONG SCREWS HOLDING THE WHEEL TO THE COLUMN* I had done this fix once in the past and the problem came up again. It was not the black screws inside the casing but it was the three extra long screws that hold the (back) of the wheel to the steering column backing out a hair. Lock washers were the solution (small ones only just a mm bigger then the screw heads themselves) I was about to use loctite, but it eats thru plastic. Then I thought about super glue aka CA glue... Yea but I'd never get them out again. At the last second I realized lockwashers were the answer! Hopefully I never have to view this video again :D if I do, you'll see me reply to this comment!

Welcome
Replace the 6910 bearing and you'll be right
It's esteemed, not estimated 🤣

Looks like I broke the plastic for two screw on the back of the motors. Tightened up the rest and it does wobble less thanks again!
"Damn! wheel wobble!!!" *watches video* ".....actually its not that bad".
A veces doy el cambio secuencial de 3 a 4 por ejemplo y se sube de 3 a 5,que puede ser? Excelente video

The things that hold down the wheel, one of them came loose. How do I fix that?
need to do it and clean my throttles but what about the warranty ? I took one for 2 years
If still under warranty, why not make a warranty claim instead of fixing it yourself
@@KnowledgeSharingTech i was thinking about it but idk if they’ll fix my both stuff, it’s a bundle btw

Did you guys find a fix I have the same issue just got the wheel today
me and some red lock tight are gonna have us a time
hehe
probably going to put an actual wheel on it also
thank you for this video
My engines broke, do you know where I can get new ones? Thank you
You can try and contact Logitech . IMO, get a used one, it’s better

Make sure that they are inserted correctly. Remove them and try again
do you have any tips for a logitech g920 disconecting when i move the cable i suspect the shifter
I know it's been six months, but i had to tell u, I suspect the cable!
I need help i did everything you did I still have the wobble!

Problema não voltou mais?
the wobble can fix the loss of power of force feeback?
I don't think so
I can’t reattach the wheel in the correct form. It’s impossible to install that both ways are free?

Придбав вживане кермо. Газ постійно підгазовує коли торкаєшся керма. Проблема не в педалях. Мені розбирати кермо ?

can u plz mentioned the main hexagon screw driver size
Sorry, don't have the wheel anymore
Probably to late to be of help but for others the size of the Hex driver ( Allen Key ) is an M4..
Just got a brand new 1 that is already doing this! 😭😭😭
my g 923 base is wobbling even though ive put it on my desk right
My wobble was so bad it interfered with the home button so when ever it was pulled down it would click my home button which was really annoying
hey i have same ring
😊
Problema not Back?
No
U dont need to remove the top cover just remove the wheel itself and screw the 3 screws.
You also need to tighten the screws inside under the top cover
Anyone that knows why my left paddle not working now? It's not clicking ...
Switch is dead... likely.
How do I stop play in the steering
Sell it.
LOL
