- Harbor Freight Titanium Unlimited 200 Welder Review is something a little different than the normal woodworking related content posted in the past.
I picked up this welder to help out with a few projects I have been wanting to get done on the homestead here. I was trying to hold out and get a ESAB rebel machine but it was going to be a while before the budget allowed me to purchase that machine.
So I broke my own rule and picked up this Harbor Freight welder for 629 on a parking lot sale. I must say I'm rather impressed so far.

Stick welding amps only max at 70 is that because it’s running 110?

On the Mig you may have too much tension on the spool, turn the spool and see how hard it turns ,there should be a adjusting spring on the where the spool mounts loosen till wire does turn freely but not over spool when u let off the trigger
Three times you mentioned you are into aerospace. A friend of mine worked at George Washington hospital in Washington DC and he told everyone he was in n engineering. As it turns out, he was a janitor but perhaps he went into the engineering building to clean it. Just wondering what do you do in “aerospace”?

I picked up one of these 200 titanium's a while back I guess about eight or nine months ago I love it except for one thing it works fantastic no problems there the problem I have with this machine is there ( No FOOT PEDEL ) ! I was. A beginning welder did not know !! when I bought mine I was told there will be one available later only find out there's not even a way to hook it up piss me off trying to TIG with scratch start sure can be done go through a lot because of it and Cetera pretty hard to control it to compared to a foot pedal otherwise on a one-to-ten scale I would give it a ten if it had the foot pedal but because of that I give it a 6 it is.
{ THAT IMPORTANT } to me for the foot pedal and a lot of - other people it works fantastic it's a great machine except for that one thing and it's not that cheap .. if and when I can afford it I'm going to go talk to them this week about a trading I hear they may let you upgrade your if you don't have it. Long and have extended warranty which I never bought but because it's the welder I did buy it the extended warranty first time ever in that case I will get the Vulcan multiprocessor the Vulcan one comes with everything but it don't come with the TIG torch that's okay I'll buy one that's no big deal I just want the foot pedal and everything else the walking multiprocessor one is pretty decent little more money the thousand-dollar range if they let me trade it up that's what I'm going to do don't get me wrong it is a great machine it works fantastic 110 220 of course 220 works the best like any machine good luck with it you didn't do babe God bless have fun I almost forgot I've been practicing real hard and using it real hard no problems at all except for my stupidity at times does doing dumb things
Thank you for the great comment! I totally agree with the foot pedal. My day job is all TIG in aerospace so I'm very used to running with a foot pedal. I was ok without getting a foot pedal and my intentions are at some point to get a dedicated TIG welder that does both AC/DC giving me the ability to weld aluminum.
I started to learn TIG on scratch start running pipe and wasn't another 3 years till a foot pedal was introduced to me. My friend has the Vulcan and loves it so if you go that route you won't be disapptioned!. Keep practicing man welding is a blast and such a useful skill
Just wondering if you reverse the polarity for running the flux core wire? That might explain the irregular pulsing you were experiencing with this mode of operation. I also found you should use the non-conductive tip they provide for use with flux core. The metal hollow tip is for shielded gas application. The risk is when you run reverse polarity setup for the flux core you might touch the nozzle to the work piece and cause it to arc the nozzle to the work. Was my first time doing flux core so it was sort of odd and had to resort to RTFM measures to figure out how to do all this properly. I found the settings diagram inside the panel to be useless though, but isn't that the case with pretty much all welders.

The time of using the machine vs the time it needs to cool down ... A 50% cycle implies it needs to cool as much as you run it or 20% means u run it for 1minute it needs 20seconds
This though means you can't run it for a hour and give it 20mins it usual will overheat long before that
120 VAC on setting 220 VAC only reads "Error". Nothing happens, it'll be ok.

Have you made a longer lead for it yet? Just wondering why they say not to and if you have done it did it affect anything? I would think if you have the right size cable then it should work fine.
I haven’t had a chance to do it. But yes I agree I don’t see any issues in doing so. Depending on how long of a lead you add you might a couple amps different at the stinger.
Main thing is voltage drop, a longer cable will require more amps to provide the same voltage at the wire, this would increase the amperage needed and may either cause breakers to trip or worse burn up the welder.
