This is the dumbest thing I have ever seen. Fake ageing on axe head, the screws have no rust on them, no ageing on handle. The whole thing was just dumb, and fake. All you needed to do was remove the screws and put in a new wedge.
I like the concept. Nut glue sticks are for craft projects. Gluing clothe to wood etc. I don't know what baking soda does to it. But I would not trust glue sticks. Maybe use them and put a nice wood wedge in also. Oklahoma.

Now the only thing holding the handle in place is the glue, just stick the axe head and handle in a bucket of water for a day, let the wood swell and then add a wedge and even a screw...

Můj návrh - udělat nové topůrko, které nakonec tak vytvarovat, že zapadne uplně těsně do otvoru sekýrky /to je tak sekerka na rubaní malých kousků dřeva/. Nebo koupit hotové topůrko patřičné velikosti v obchodě, kde se prodávají nástroje a věci pro kutily. Těsně před definitivním nabitím sekýrky na topůrko, pomazat topůrko kouskem mýdlá pro zmenšení tření, pak pořádné větši kladivko a nabít topůrko na sekerku /bije se do topůrka nikoliv do sekýrky - poznámka pro ty, kteří tohle budou dělat poprve/. Po nějaké době, když se sekyrka na topůrku začne viklat /stane se pohyblivou/, do topůrka zarazit vhodné velikosti klínek, ne nějaké šroubky , jak to bylo vidět na začátku videa. Nic se neděje, když trochu topůrko za sekerkou praskne, ale to prasknutí je důkazem toho, že jste si s vytvarováním topůrka nedali patřičnou práci - nedělali jste to pořádně, důkladně, tedy déle než pracují nedbalci. Dělejte všechno v životě tak, jak Vermeer von Delft maloval obrazy - pouze 40 za relativně krátký život - něco přes 40 let, když zemřel. Ale jaké to byly obrazy. Skvosty, všechny. Práce kvapná nic neplatná.

First of all, this actually cost more than a brand-new handle. Also, there are centuries old and proven techniques to fix the loose handle of any tool, without changing it. Second, by welding the one side of the handle hole, this axe became extremely unsafe to use. Couple of really dry logs and the exe has a pretty good chance of flying off and hitting someone in the forehead. DO NOT DO THIS. EXTREMELY UNSAFE!
I was using an old axe the wedge came loose & head flew off as my daughter passed by it missed her head by a few feet i went stone cold in shock thinking 1 sec late shed be hit hard dunno why she walk past at the wrong time never walk infront of a swinging axe or be a machine I wud also glue the bastid & wedge in next time i ever use one wheew
As there is always the danger of an axe head breaking free or a handle slipping from sweaty palms, an axe should never be swung in the direction of another person, animal, or valuable property.
It is for a while. Good for small branches. Not reliable. Greetins from Poland

@@Alvawelding20but you used new metal, and many new glue sticks. At least a new shaft is wooden, ie a sustainable material!
If you put your wooden hammers and the like in a bucket of water over just a little time the wood will swell and tighten the gap!
