Stick Welding Rods Explained: What Do the Number Mean?
มุมมอง 11K4 ปีที่แล้ว
Stick welding rods explained what do the numbers really mean for you as a welder? These numbers were a little bit of a learning experience for me too. I knew what the majority of them meant until the last number. There is a lot of things to remember when it comes to that last digit. I will start working on creating some kind of printable cheat sheet to keep in your toolbox.

    I'm new to this machine. My wire feed only goes to 275. Is that due to me running on 120 ?

    Lol. Ypur metal is way to dirty. Wow. You should clean your metal before welding. That will clean up your weld and get rid of those holes. Problem is dirty metal. Grind it then wipe it with acetone.

    Aspire is great, but with a hefty 1800 euro price tag. Fusion 360 is free for non commercial. We use vcarve at work, which only allows cutting of 3d objects, not actually creating them.

    Hi, thanks for the video, I have a problem with my holes drilling. Before and after each hole operation the tool goes to 0 height and sometimes carves the surface while moving. Shouldn't it always move at retraction height between operations too?

    On the Mig you may have too much tension on the spool, turn the spool and see how hard it turns ,there should be a adjusting spring on the where the spool mounts loosen till wire does turn freely but not over spool when u let off the trigger

    Can you explain what exactly “duty cycle “ is and what it means. Thanks you

    • @peterbrill1017
      @peterbrill1017 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The time of using the machine vs the time it needs to cool down ... A 50% cycle implies it needs to cool as much as you run it or 20% means u run it for 1minute it needs 20seconds This though means you can't run it for a hour and give it 20mins it usual will overheat long before that

    You dont suck at all bro. You are a TIG welder for Aerospace. I worked for Aerospace (not welding) and I know their standards are high and very delicate. You just dont have experience using wire feed. I'm proficient in stick welding. Never tried flux and I'm good at MIG as well. TIG is my next process to learn. Thanks for the review. Gonna buy this multiprocess machine. Youre the only one whos welded with it on flux and stick on TH-cam. Everyone else just uses the MIG. No TIG as well.

    This was really helpful. Thank you. I wonder, i tried this with the idea that the glass size was fixed at 11x16, so the rabbets would need to be an 1/8 inch wider and taller while not going over an inch wide on the frame. I got stuck though and couldn't make the fixed size glass fit in the rabbets.

    Just wondering if you reverse the polarity for running the flux core wire? That might explain the irregular pulsing you were experiencing with this mode of operation. I also found you should use the non-conductive tip they provide for use with flux core. The metal hollow tip is for shielded gas application. The risk is when you run reverse polarity setup for the flux core you might touch the nozzle to the work piece and cause it to arc the nozzle to the work. Was my first time doing flux core so it was sort of odd and had to resort to RTFM measures to figure out how to do all this properly. I found the settings diagram inside the panel to be useless though, but isn't that the case with pretty much all welders.
