  • In today's video we are in the shop trying the flux-core capbilites of the Harbor Freight Titanium welder.
I don't claim to be a flux core welding expert but this little machine can weld some pretty damn good beads. I couldn't recommend this thing anymore highly.
It's great for the weekend warrior that loves to tinker around in his shop and build different metal related projects.

I think you are doing real good. Don’t be so hard on yourself. These welds look darn good.

If this is your first machine and you are a beginner that's a damn good well for a beginner and your first machine
Check it. Out when you get gas I used 25/75 on Mig you won't believe the difference get gas dude you'll love it then you need argon for the tig you definitely have to have gas for TIG good luck I was impressed with that weld if it's your first very impressed

Put the black flux tip on the gun and you can see the tip/wire better than the gas shielding tip you have on it.

Thats porosity in your welds. (worm holes) Nitrogen is trying to escape from the heat. The wire youre using is garbage. Try blue demon. I use it all the time and haven't had any problems with porosity.
Also if its got slag, let it drag. Keep your angle out and drag it. I love flux core. Its more convenient to me. I dont gotta carry a tank everywhere and run the risk of forgetting to close the fuckin valve. Done that a lot over the years. Gets expensive! I run mainly flux now

Thank you for the tips! I knew the wire was garbage just wanted to get it burnt up. About to start building my kiddo a swing set and going to give your blue demon recommendation a shot!

I'm new to this machine. My wire feed only goes to 275. Is that due to me running on 120 ?

You dont suck at all bro. You are a TIG welder for Aerospace. I worked for Aerospace (not welding) and I know their standards are high and very delicate. You just dont have experience using wire feed.
I'm proficient in stick welding. Never tried flux and I'm good at MIG as well.
TIG is my next process to learn.
Thanks for the review. Gonna buy this multiprocess machine. Youre the only one whos welded with it on flux and stick on TH-cam. Everyone else just uses the MIG. No TIG as well.

How come you’re dragging and not pushing? Novice asking

The worm holes you see in your weld is from dirt on the steel you are welding. I think its Hydrogen gas from dirt or from moisture. You are doing very good welding. Keep it up, in two three years it will be GREAT and you will do what ever you want to with the welder. You'll see.

Lol. Ypur metal is way to dirty. Wow. You should clean your metal before welding. That will clean up your weld and get rid of those holes. Problem is dirty metal. Grind it then wipe it with acetone.
