I know it’s ridiculous to think with all his training that he wouldn’t already know this but that’s perhaps why I am even more confused - why would he start thrashing around after he spotted the shark? The worst possible thing he surely knew was the number one thing to not do?
If he had an SMB with him, he would've been seen. I carry one every time I'm diving. Mine is also 6 feet and blaze orange. With just a little bit of air from your tank, you can fully inflate that thing.

I live on the Maine coast and several generations of the men in my family have been lobstermen. I've grown up and spent the majority of my life on and around the ocean. Although the North Atlantic Ocean, that I'm familiar with, is different in some ways from the South Pacific Ocean, that this guy is in, ultimately the ocean is the ocean. Having said that, ocean tides and currents tend to be predictable in timing, direction and intensity. In Maine, we have extremely accurate schedules and maps of the tides and currents around our coast. I'm assuming that the same is true for every other coastal state or region in every other western country. With that in mind, I don't understand why the New Zealand coast guard wouldn't be able to locate this guy by simply following the current maps and multiplying the current speed by the amount of time he'd been in.
In a lot of the vids on this channel, at the end they say something like “I would like to come back again sometime and show my kids and see this place again” why???????
I'm no expert, but I imagine in cases like this, wouldn't they be well aware of the direction of the current so they follow it to find where the missing person was likely swept towards?
I love how they say "He'll have to depend on his diving training in order to survive." 😂 He's already proven he's driven purely by ego and not by training or good choices. This dude has no business training others to fail miserably.

I adventure into all these dangerous situations from the warm and cozy comfortability of my bed
CAN U PLEASE PUT SOME MORE VIDEOS UP U R NOT GIVING ENOUGH LOL 😂SOŔRY JUST ADDICTED ❤
sᴀᴍᴇ ᴘᴀɢᴇ ʀᴏғʟ ✌️🏻😅
🤦🏻♀️ I CAN BARELY WAIT TO HEAR HOW THE HELL HE GOT LEFT THERE ALONE ‼️ I'D NEVER DO THIS I'D NEVER TRUST THE PEOPLE ENOUGH ESPECIALLY AFTER SEEING A VIDEO LIKE THIS
These actors are better thn any celebrity actors! Better thn our Bollywood industry
Your bollywood industry ain't shit 😹😹😹
I feel like if everyone watched an episode of this a day, we’d all live a lot better lives. Great story.
Should always say a quick prayer to mother ocean before diving in, to be in her body. Take care
Very good Rob 👏
You needed to learn your life is worthwhile and you have everything you need right there right now ❤
The human will to survive is mind blowing... Getting lost at sea is one of my biggest fears. I love the ocean but I also have massive respect for it.
this guy is 1 in a billion what a story
Stay out the ocean an things like this wouldn't happen, you don't see sharks or whales trying to walk on land 😂😂😂😂😂
We all might be in for a new lifestyle with thousands of undocumented people around us.
yea only lions tigers and bears....which we can easily handle
He went without a buddy. That was the error
Just stay at home and don't do anything with your life
Crazy things can happen anywhere. So don't be so sure and hope that bad luck won't land on your side
Coming to the comments and i see alot of people finding themselves watching these videos about people being in despair and it calms them down. Its called depression. And your not alone and you matter❤
I know it’s ridiculous to think with all his training that he wouldn’t already know this but that’s perhaps why I am even more confused - why would he start thrashing around after he spotted the shark? The worst possible thing he surely knew was the number one thing to not do?
I thought the same thing but it must have been uncontrollable.
It was funny seeing the big pole holding him up in the water but I know they couldn't just let him tread there for hours to make the video!! 😆 🤭 😅
Another episode I'd not seen. 👌
So glad that you survived 🙏🏻😊
If he had an SMB with him, he would've been seen. I carry one every time I'm diving. Mine is also 6 feet and blaze orange. With just a little bit of air from your tank, you can fully inflate that thing.
A LESSON THAT I LEARNT FROM THOSE EPISODES:
ALWAYS INFORM PEOPLE WHERE ARE YOU GOING EXACTLY, AND THINK AHEAD OF WHAT MAY GO WRONG IN YOUR TRIP.
KEEP SOMEONE INFORMED PLEASE.
`Must have been absolutely pertifying.
Allways nice to drift off to somthing light hearted
Wow. This is legit in my top 5 worst nightmares. Bless you rob❤
Its next to impossible to drown yourself!!! Your body reactions wont allow it! Surprised he didnt know that!
I was thinking he was going to stab himself in the heart. Glad he didn't think of that lol
Mauri spirit and strength are the way forward what a legend that graces our land
Pride comes before the Fall so glad he made it out i wanted to cry when he had to eat his only friend 😢
Any one else watch this before bed 😂
Why dont divers be given some sort of sensor to be tracked during emergencies?? Genuine question
I’m watching this for second time 😮this diver 😮man … he really had a hard time with that current wave
so deep on the bottom 😮
when his wife praying and believe he’s alive that got me emotional
I cried when Rangi was giving the offering. That was some good acting.
Good job 👏
Holy mackerel! That is something I just couldn't even imagine. And it's probably a darn good thing he married who he married
“Face to face” with a shark 😂 no shark to be seen clickbait title
Reinacted
Guy never caught a lobster, after all that he lied about being a loser not being able to get one. Still a badass for surviving though.
Mother Nature showed this 20 Year Navy man just how big and tough he really is.
Omg! I've been searching for this episode for a while!! One of my favs!! I kept trying...and the TH-cam Gods brought it to me!! Thanks YT!
Oh no!!! You ate Tummer 😢😢😢
Yeah, that got me, too.🥺 I can't imagine what he went through, so I can't be too harsh.
In a lot of the vids on this channel, at the end they say something like “I would like to come back again sometime and show my kids and see this place again” why???????
After seeing the tragic, brutal, shark attack on our poor Russian brother in Egypt, seeing this was great ❤ 🙏 🕊
I'm no expert, but I imagine in cases like this, wouldn't they be well aware of the direction of the current so they follow it to find where the missing person was likely swept towards?
Oh woah, I haven't seen this episode in years!!!
I hope they bring out a new season, it would be interesting to see Tim Shaddock's case.
The power of the Maori spirits is incredible...what a wonderful family!!!
My thoughts as well , hard breed .
Kia Kaha from NZ ;)
Power of God moron. Maori doesnt excist
I love how they say "He'll have to depend on his diving training in order to survive." 😂 He's already proven he's driven purely by ego and not by training or good choices. This dude has no business training others to fail miserably.
Maybe the experience will give him the wisdom to reach his goals!
@@robertataylor5794exactly!!
Where's the shark??
Hell get a bloody crayfish.😂
Famous last words, “I’d like to be a dive instructor…”
