Question - if I just need to replace the speaker grille that says b and o on it because it got scratched - can I just use a pick tool to pop that off without taking off door panel? Then pop in other? Thx
What’s the review on the audio sound upgrade?? I like the factory system but it’s definitely a little flat. I have not upgraded a factory sound system in years but always loved aftermarket sound systems in my younger days. Alpine was always incredible!
Do you have any videos on how much an aftermarket sound system with 2 12" subs would drain the battery. I know there are steps you need to take to run a battery pack separately. Is there a way to connect the pack to charge with the truck? Mainly just want to know how much it would drain the battery. I really want to put aftermarket 6x9s and 2 subs in my f-150 platinum. Saw a cool Idea on installing the subs in the front trunk facing the cab. Just not sure how much drain it would cause to the truck.
How would you wire the speakers with a crossover needed for the mid-range in the door and tweeter in the A-pillar? And where would you mount the crossover? I would be using the PAC - LPHFD31 T-Harness for factory radio. I also plan to install the LOC - LC51 PRO and Audio Control AMP D-5.1300
Why anyone would do this without adding more sound deadening material is crazy to me. Not a shot at you but the customers should want to always add this in.
You guys make some very detailed and informative videos...phenomenal job!! I did want to ask, how do they sound on the stock B&O amp? I have done a lot of car audio but always aftermarket amps. Just want to make sure the clarity is significantly better before i pull the trigger. Are these speakers sensitive enough that the loudness changed? Thanks again for the vid!!!
Yeah, big difference. Replacing the B&O amp gets pricy with the needed Pac AmpPro, so for the time being, this is a great solution to the poor audio from the "upgraded" factory audio sound system.
@ProvoBeastAudio Awesome, thanks for the reply! I have one more question if you wouldn't mind and it might be a little weird. In your honest opinion with these alpines installed how much did the loudness and clarity change? Are you able to turn them up pretty loud without distortion? Sorry for all the questions...I have searched everywhere and you're the only person doing exactly what I plan on doing with mine 😅
I’ve been talking to Crutchfield about speaker replacement in my 2021 F150 with B&O system. I’m not changing amp. They claim that tweeter replacement is a little hard as they only have one tweeter (JL AUDIO) that will work. Factory is 8 ohm and most replacements are 4 ohm and could overheat the amp and damage it. Can you share any info on that for me. Don’t want to damage it. Also will a 2way workin door. . Or just a waste as there is no signal for it. Assuming I would just install 6 3/4” woofer there. Also they only show two 6x9 that will fit.
I'm a bit confused by what Crutchfield says will fit in terms of 6x9's. In fact, they say the Alpine's installed in this video will not fit, though they clearly do.
I’m so confused by it I gave up trying. The stock speakers are 6x9 but only 2 6x9 speakers they say will fit are pioneer. Also they claim the center speaker is a single and they have no replacement. You can buy a pair but the sound won’t be correct. Not sure why. So I give up.
I ended up using the pioneer 6x9. Fits fine in the door panel. Just had to trim the mount a bit and drill out a hole to feed the harness through it. I installed coaxials and they sound good. Will be installing the 8 ohm JL audio tweeters tomorrow. I'll let you know how it goes
No, these 6.5" come with passive crossovers built into the magnet of the speaker. The front speaker component set install video has crossovers that we showed how to install.
You'll need to do some forum digging. I know that the "unleashed" 18 speaker set-up has a stock amp running some channels and the head unit running others. If you just replaced the door speakers you could possibly run into timing issues between the different channels. I know I had seen some people do it on the forums so you could be just fine. You may get better bang for your buck doing a subwoofer install to make the system sound more "full" if that makes sense.
A lot of people are switching to the Dayton Audio 3 1/2" 8 Ohm speaker and having success. Ill be installing mine in the next week or 2. Just note that the doors are 4 Ohm while the center is an 8 Ohm speaker.
Thanks for the reply. I went with the 82-5605. I went to the other video and saw the plastic packaging with that part number but on your description it says 82-5607 for the 6.5. Again thanks for the reply. 👍🏼
Just a FYI Powerbass has OEM hookup for 2015+ and sounds better than Alpines imo. I’ve had alpines in the past and it’s great IFF you have a sub somewhere. Without, wouldn’t recommend. Too much vocal. Powerbass sounds like a better kicker but I have no proof besides trust me bro I’ve been install speakers on vehicles for 12 years? Oh god. I’m old.
Parts used linked in the description of the video!
We’re do I find the unleashed version?
THIS is how an install video is done! Thanks for showing the back of each piece and where the clips are... amazing!
Thanks Chris. These sound far better than the factory B&O. Super happy with it!
Hi do you recommend making this upgrade to upgrade the sound? Is there any better speakers than these?
How about the back speakers? Can those be upgraded?
Did you notice a big difference in the quality of the sound? Would you recommend the purchase
@@techmap4191 for sure it was a big difference. Well worth the upgrade Provo Beast has another video for the rears. That helped a lot too.
@@m10stuffdid you get any clipping or issues at higher volume?
Thanks to your detailed overview I was able to get my panels off easy!

Where is the unleashed video regarding the speaker swap i didn’t see it in the links that you mentioned in the beginning of this video????
Extremely helpful install video. Do you feel the newer R2 version of these is worth the additional $?
With an amp yes. Without an amp, no.
@ProvoBeastAudio Much appreciated, sir!

For factory signal, not bad a tall. No extra power is added, as they are the same impedance as factory, but there is a big jump in audio quality.
Do you need to also replace the tweeters or no?
These speakers came with the tweeters. It helps
Having replaced them myself, yes I would replace. They definitely make a difference

Did you ever find an answer? I’m also wondering if the tweeters are ran off the HU in this B&O setup.

@je1279 you have to buy the adapter kit for the 6x9 to fit and the holes to line up...

What’s different about the unleashed? I want to upgrade mine. Any advice? Probably would just do the front speakers and go from there.
Same process, just more speakers. Unleashed has 18 vs base B&O has 8.
Is it ok to add these alpines to my unleashed system?
How can tweeters be added to a truck that didn't come with them?
Do they come with a external crossover for those speakers if so where do you put them
No, these 6.5" come with passive crossovers built into the magnet of the speaker. The front speaker component set install video has crossovers that we showed how to install.
Why does it say the the adapters wont fit on my stock system on my f150?
I have the B&O unleashed what is the difference in upgrading the speakers.

Hey boss for the 6.5 the bracket should be 82-5605 correct? Not 82-5607?
The 82-5605 is for the rear doors. The 82-5607 has a different mounting bolt design and is needed for the front doors if installing 6.5.
