    You do such a GREAT job on these vids, Josh 🏆 I’d like to point out to your subscribers that when You (Josh) mention Frequency Curve, some may not realize that VOCALS reside in Mid-frequencies. This is important when creating your sound STAGE. Also important to those who understand Fidelity , and listen to music for Clarity often in acoustic tracks, Jazz, R&B, Soul.
    Your materials breakdown was Awesome !

    I just happened to stumble across this video because it has been a while since I have been in the market for car audio. First off, this video just so happened to be published on my birthday! Second of all, I used to buy my car stereo pieces from Breakers Stereo over 20 yrs ago! I am originally from Fillmore, which is about 30 mins from this place! May I thank you for your listings which I find most informative. However I have a problem which you have not covered thus far, I have built a kit car which currently has no audio installed. My aim is to mount the speakers at ear height behind each seat, I wasthinking of installing 2 pairs, thus creating almost the equivilent of headphones for both driver and passenger. I thought that something like the Pioneer TS-A6990F would be a good option. But you are so knowledgeable I would be grateful for any recommendations. Price is NOT an overriding factor.

    Looking at either the BLAM RF100 or RFS100 for my Mazda3. The RF100 would be the better choice for midbass since it has more xmax and lower sensitivity? The RFS100 apparently plays 10hz lower and handles 10RMS more but is more sensitive.

    Hi, thank you for the awesome video! Nice to see some original content! Teaches me a lot!
    I have a newbie question, i hope you don’t mind?
    I have the Alpine R Spec speakers that do 100w RMS. I have the Halo9 head unit 18w RMS Output. I only have the alpine 45w RMS Amp. Can I safely turn the gain right up to max on the amp?

    • @robertmcalister2558
      @robertmcalister2558 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You need to measure the AC voltage output. Set your HU to like 3/4 of max volume, play a sine wave, and if 45 w 4 ohm (V^2/R), turn up gain until you measure sqrt(45*4). That is the limit to where your amp won’t be clipping.

    Question(s)
    I have probably the absolute worst case scenario for a speaker install project in my Jeep TJ. I have a canvas top and 35” mud terrain tires that growl on the freeway. My front speakers (5.25” coaxial) are located fairly low in the dash and are pointed towards my lap.
    I have a 6.5” component set in the sound pods over my head with the tweeters pointed in my general direction which seems to work ok. So I’d like to replace the coaxial dash speakers up front with a second component set so I can mount the tweeters for those up higher on the dash where I can hear them. I’m running an AppRadio4 at the moment with a mini Alpine 45w x 4 amp. Am I on the right track in swapping from coaxial to component in the front? Also what would be the best component speaker type for me? Lastly, being that my overhead speakers arm 100w RMS and the new dash speakers would probably be something similar in spec , will the two sets sound decent running off my 45w x 4ch amp?
    My music taste is pretty much all over the spectrum but I’d say I mostly listen to metal, reggae, and hip-hop.

If it was something other than a work truck I wouldn’t mind buying some nicer speakers. Probably just about any aftermarket speaker would outperform the the stock speaker’s though…😂 I think I got those kicker factory replacement speakers for the back when I got the truck about 12 years ago. But I really want to make it sound better up front… You got any other recommendations for around 100?

  • @RobHTech
    @RobHTech 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I guess this vid is good for people who have no idea what they are doing. The side-by-side is what matters, not all the other stuff. Even if RMS is 70w versus 100w doesn't matter if they sound like crap. Also, a 30w difference is not going to be heard. 70 x 3 = 210w to sound twice as loud. Now, you might hear more sounds, if amplified. A lower sensitivity doesn't necessarily mean more bass. If talking subs, well yes. But for a 6.5", even being "Rated" down to 50Hz doesn't really matter because they almost will never play 50Hz well. You just need like 150Hz+, depending on sub tuning. Quit frankly, running a subwoofer that plays up to 250Hz is best, then tune the doors to like 200Hz depending on the crossover point.

    I have a doubt, if you could help me I would be grateful... The 2-way kit “S165M2mg” from Blam (Signature Multix line) contains: (1) a woofer (WS6) that reproduces frequencies of 80 Hz ÷ 6 kHz and (2) a tweeter (TSM 25 Mg 70) that reproduces frequencies from 1.18 Khz ÷ 43 KHz. The 2-way kit “TH K2 II A CORO” from Audison (Thesis line) contains: (1) a woofer (TH 6.5 II sax) that reproduces frequencies of 40 ÷ 4.5 kHz and (2) a tweeter (TSM 25 Mg 70 ) which reproduces frequencies of 800 ÷ 26 kHz. Just looking at these technical data of the two kits mentioned, is it possible to say which one will, for example, be more likely to reproduce acoustic or instrumental music better? Note: considering the hypothetical scenario in which the two kits mentioned were installed in the same car (at different times, of course) and that the entire rest of the system (amplifiers, subwoofer, DSP, cables and wires, frequency cuts, time alignment, etc. .) were correctly dimensioned, installed and adjusted.

    • @BreakersStereo
      @BreakersStereo  หลายเดือนก่อน

      It’s hard to tell, which would sound better for acoustic music on specifications alone. I can’t say the speakers are designed for acoustical music. Although every person hears speakers differently, so it would be nearly impossible for me to recommend what Set would sound better to you. The only way you would be able to decide is to at least go to a shop that carries both on display and listen to them. It would be pretty tough though to find a shop that would have those two sets of speakers on display to demonstrate, I can see either way I believe you will be happy with either set of speakers because Addison does excellent speakers as well. Specially, the thesis line.

    Lower sensitivity is better to produce more bass in your door speakers!! 🤔so if you just want the bass to come from your subwoofers then you would need high sensitivity with your door speakers to produce the high’s and mids?

    • @BreakersStereo
      @BreakersStereo  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Typically yes lower sensitivity will give you more bass. But higher sensitivity means better efficiency. But it doesn’t necessarily mean you should get high sensitivity speakers if you’re adding a sub. It’s more of the opposite meaning if you’re not adding a sub then you should be looking at speakers with lower sensitivity giving off more bass…

      We really like the BLAM speakers. They have a line called the relax and make them in 6x8 both components and co-ax. Model 165RS AND 165RC. Check out website for more information

    Can I use different brands/ cone material for front and back speakers ?

  • @anan7s294
    @anan7s294 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm just asking this as an audiophile. Which brand series offer studio monitor levels of sound with proper bass and not just balanced sound? I know for a fact that speakers are also designed for specific sound signature, that's why I'm keen to know about speakers of which brands offer that kind of experience, leaving aside the NVH of the car when in motion.

    • @finwo
      @finwo ปีที่แล้ว

      No common 6.5 designed for car audio will produce proper bass, as they have excursion limits to consider for door applications. You need to move a lot of air for creating pressure at low frequencies.
      For monitor-quality of sound, use monitor speakers, possibly with adapters. Those speakers are usually 8 ohm though, which not all car amps may like.

    • @ryanb8736
      @ryanb8736 ปีที่แล้ว

      Problem with adding too much low HZ bass into a 6.5 mids is that you will lose separation in sound. That’s the whole point in having separates. You don’t want a 6.5 going under 60. A sub woofer is better for that. 12 inch is the best for those super lows.
      Focal and AudioFrog have some of the best sounds.

    • @ryanb8736
      @ryanb8736 ปีที่แล้ว

      For true audiophiles, Focal Utopias are what you want. They play sounds no other speakers play. A true work of art.

    If a HU emphasizes need for Impedance of speakers at 4 ohm, for example, and an External amplifier will be used, can 2 ohm, 3 ohm, 8ohm speakers be driven “safely” ? When can impedance be (changed) when marrying HU w/ External Amp ?

    • @BreakersStereo
      @BreakersStereo  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you can run everything over 2 ohms to a headinit, most radios will be stable at 2 ohms. Many years ago you couldn’t run 2 ohm speakers to Kenwoods and if you did it will throw it in to protect but it’s been years since we’ve ran into that.

      @@BreakersStereo Really Appreciate the Replies. So, just so that I’m clear (and possibly other subscribers), when a HUs specifics 4 ohm, and the Line-Outs are going to an Amp, I can safely/effectively run Any impedance …. ? Or am I taking it too far out of context ? 🤓

    I love my clean crisp highs. I'm always disappointed by the so called high end systems in new cars. They always lack power. I got a 2023 Range Rover and did not have a choice on sound. It came with Meridan Base. It's ok but lack crisp highs. It's a 3-year lease so I don't want to break the bank. If you had $5k to spend to upgrade sound how would you spend it. I live in LA so I'd be open to making the drive.
