Yoooo ngl this is the guide I needed, got it second try. If you're still having trouble, I find it's pretty consistent when I hit super and jump at the same time.
@@johnlordbautista7971 Yes I did. Once I was executing successfully, I re-remapped to down d-pad and then mapped that to P1 (top right paddle) (my jump is P3, or bottom right paddle). I find it easier having jump and super next to each other, except P1 was crouch for me, so not necessarily the perfect setup by any means.
For anyone (on controller) who doesn’t want to give up their emote button, this was my solution that i came up with when learning well skate back in s17. Super on controller is generally LB RB or L1 R1 set as default, instead set your super to either left bumper and jump or right bumper and jump. Essentially the goal is to eliminate one button and by binding LB and A or L1 and X as the intended super activation will save the trouble of pressing an extra button, whereas untouched would be pull out sword, heavy attack then LB RB A/ L1 R1 X. In short this makes the technique much easier as you’re popping your super while jumping at the same time, all within the activation of LB and A or L1 and X. You could also do it the other way around and bind RB and A or R1 and X but I just find it more convenient on the left trigger. Also helps a ton if you play claw.
I managed to mix your video with a control scheme from someone else and got hit by a massive amount of adrenaline when I pulled it off. I am impressed with myself considering the struggles I had for so long to pull it off
Thanks!! This is one of the best if not the best video showing how to Sword Skate! Clever: never would have thought of remapping the Super button!! Fantastic tip! Was just the tip I was missing.
I use left and right on the dpad for my weapons, borderlands style. You can still use all four emotes, just bind them to a combination of buttons, like left click + up.
Excellent video man! This is the guide I needed, got the hang of it in about a minute after watching. Just wanted to throw this here in case it isn’t known. Hunter skating is possible with this same process, just use Stasis shatterdive instead of well. Shatterdive also helps to dead stop your momentum if need be, and you won’t waste a super if you mess it up.
I play destiny on controller and the way that i always did that i feel is the most consistent is to switch the heavy attack to R1. The way i do it is R1 (hold)>X>L1. Hope it is helpfull!
Something worth noting that I dont see mentioned, the jump/super input should come in when you just pass the ledge. So the timing is slower the farther you are from a ledge
Thanks a lot someone told me jump then super, this was extremely helpful, when I learned shatterskate it was super ez and addicting as heck. THis will be awesome
I got it down within a 30 minute timer in a private match. Shits crazy I had no idea I could do this bro you blew my mind. *tip I switched my super to D-Pad up (you lose up emote on D-Pad) but doesn’t even matter because that shits just crazy for just an emote slot 😂 other videos also say you need to sprint before head. No you don’t need to just like in his video! LEGEND
STAND RIGHT AT THE EDGE SOME SHATTER SKATE USERS MIGHT THINK THAT THEY HAVE TO STAND FAR AWAY FROM THE EDGE BUT DON'T DO THAT ALSO MAKE SURE TO PRESS SUPER AND JUMP BUTTON ALMOST AT THE EXACT SAME TIME AFTER HEAVY ATTACK LIKE IMMEDIATELY AFTER IT.
I just figured out that I had to do super and jump at the exact same time I don't know why that works for me but it does The tip that you have to wait until just after you pass the edge also helped a lot
Remember you also have three seconds to execute your “heavy” attack before “eager edge” goes away, so you don’t have to rush the heavy attack. Take your time with it then gradually speed up the process till you find your groove.
Amazing guide but if you look in the comments its jump then super and also if you're on pc with the mapping its like 7, 89. If you dont do jump into super fast enough you will just cast your super
very helpful video big thing or take away I learned is that you have to allow the sword swing to take place vs shatter skate where its in quick succession of one another also I believe the order of operations is swing jump super not super jump after writing this message I then proceeded to fail skating repetitively and couldn't figure out what i was doing right the first time im now unsure if i wish to continue well skating 😂😅😂
I finally found what I was doing wrong all this time. Eager Edge has to be procced. It's a perk not a trait. It only works a few seconds after pulling out your sword. Watch for Eager Edge on the bottom left to understand the timing. Pulling your sword out solves the timing issue, but it's not specifically stated why. None of the videos I ever watched mentioned this, but it solved my issues. Good luck!
The explanation for controller is what I was missing to master this! I mastered shatter skating so easily but it seemed inconsistent on controller I was mashing all the buttons too fast. Your explanation of the order was what I needed. Thanks!
It was always 40/60 for me until my friend told me to press super and jump at the exact same time, not in rapid succession and now I have a 90/10 success rate. Hope that helps
Okay please tell me if this works for you all because I noticed it's working for me. Instead of super then jump, do jump then super. It's working for me that way
Pretty much easiest way to explain its not "all at once" more of a quick smooth roll of pressing. Heavy, jump almost at same time with super after with no delay or hesitation.
Hey a big tip that really help me is make your jump left one the d pad because everything is much closer and makes it easier then after you can do that try with the regular jump
Not sure if anyone else has had the same issue but I was just not getting it. And when I binded my keys differently (PC) heavy attack to #4, JUMP to #5, and super to #6, I suddenly started getting it almost every time.
It doesn't work. I binded Heavy Attack to key 1, Super to 2, Jump to 3. So i swap to the crafted sword (with enhanced Eager Edge) and press 1,2,3 but i always end up doing a heavy attack which immediately translates into my Super (so i fall down and my Super pops). Tried to rebind the keys for super and jump vice versa, but it's the same result. Was it patched or what am i doing wrong?

I’ve been trying to learn this for months and it’s still not working. I’m doing the heavy attack, jumping, and popping well at almost the exact same time and it’s just placing well down.
@@GodTierGamerz705 I think looking at my screen and seeing the speed at which my guardian does things messes with the speed at which I should actually press the buttons. you’re too slow inbeteeen the inputs then. it’s literally like a 0.4 second window you have to input all the commands at the same time in the order of heavy jump super/dive
@@HD_COLT no no I figured it out. Something this video doesn’t mention is that you have to jump BEFORE the heavy attack takes you off of the edge. I was going right next to the edge and trying to do it but that doesn’t give a lot of time. More distance between you and the edge means more time for you to jump.
