I actually learned how to warlock skate for the first time yesterday! Im still learning to activate it more often and in a fluent way of course, but Im doing good progress so far. Occasionally I mess up switching back to the sword while already flying, or things like jumping fast enough to avoid a obstacle below my feet, etc. but thats it I guess. Nice work and keep it up! Cause it aint easy :P
There are 7 billion guides for well skating already up. If your problem is height after the skate, you want to hit your glide (post-skate) immediately after the skate finishes, so you angle upwards.
@@milzhere I like to press jump, immediately icarus dash and consume my grenade for the momentum while consuming and retains my height. If the issue is distance dashing right out of the skate feels the best imo. Could be completely wrong though haha
@@nexus2691 No it seems like the issue they're having is height, not distance. Icarus dash kills your upwards momentum, for something like this skip you want to icarus dash at max height, then pulse your glide to maintain the height and speed w/ heat rises.
if you dont step on the tomb ship at 1:32 then you dont have to land on the top of the next area, you can land on the bottom and the door still wont spawn
Can someone please explain to me how checkpoints work in this entrance and if this is doable with a fireteam? If more people are in the team but never step on a ship (or never cross the portal, idk) can I pull them to the next encounter by myself? The only thing keeping me back is that invis barrier which I can't get around because it says "Turn back" if I try going around. Hey, question for you about carrying the momentum, how do you maintain that? I can get the height, but even without Heat Rises you were able to clear the second gap, I find my momentum being immediately shut down after the initial forward burst. And if I pulse the burst glide it just slows me down immediately. How are you conserving momentum/going so fast for so long?
That's nice. Warlocks look so gracefully when skating. I didn't want to get the fox helmet, but seeing your warlock I maybe can make it work with the right shaders. Looks nice. It's something different from the regular warlock helmet with their vertical or psion like visors they normally have. I never skated except beginner skating with titan. So sorry if that sounds dumb, but what's the point of the starfire protocol? I mean what function does it fulfills within your skating technique? And maybe another dumb question but what's the difference between the blue eager edge sword and the purple one? Or is it just personal preference?
The point in having the starfire is that it gives you another grenade to consume for heat rises for another 15 seconds rather than just 1, and the reason most people use the purple sword is that when dares came out it had a much much lower drop rate than the blue one however i think bungie increased this now though but i could be wrong about that, there is no difference whatsoever for the eager edge perk

There are two checkpoints within the jump puzzle, 1 at the first ship and 1 once your across the large gap. you have to hit the first checkpoint to activate the elevator (But this only works if your the only member in the raid)
Yes you can make a macro but i believe macros are against terms of service, I recommend spending a little time learning the inputs and you will have it down in no time!
@@woodzy24k13 pretty sure they aren’t and there’s no way for them to detect one as to the game it just thinks you’re pressing normal buttons. Personally I don’t see the issue with a macro for wellskating as it isn’t harming anyone and helps players who aren’t as good with the quick tight timings

could you make a tutorial on how to do skating with the warlock? with the well. It happens to me that it doesn't rise as much when I do it.
Pull out sword, heavy attack, jump, super, have heat rises for this, also jump again once you start skating

Better late than never, Starfire gives you a second fusion grenade charge, and heat rises consumes your grenade, so Starfire means 2 heat rises

So how do you get the height on your well skate? I feel like I never get height at all and just always get just a straight line.
Using heat rises at the peak of my well skate is how I'm gaining height.
