Please, you guys really do have to react to The Timeline of River Song by The Confession Dial. Its an excellent recap of River's slightly confusing life throughout the series. It's an excellent watch and I would absolutely love to see you react to it.

unbelievable that u guys never mention Rick&Morty while and after watching Doctor Who episodes....If u pay a minimum amount of atention, u can see the huge influence. R&M reuses almost every single ideia of Doctor Who's universe, rules, characters etc..u name it.
Matt Lucas came back because he asked if he could. Moffat was happy that someone would forgo the kind of money he makes to do Doctor Who for the love of it.
Moffat and Capaldi got the title for the episode from world touring in Mexico. In Mexico, they call Doctor Who, "Doctor Misterio". They loved the name so much, they incorporated it for the name of this episode, The Return of Doctor Mysterio.
I'm from Mexico, I've lived my whole life in Sinaloa, and from the moment i was aware of doctor who it was always Doctor Who for me, I've never heard anyone call him Doctor misterio ... well, until they came to mexico, people went to the airport with banners that read "Doctor Misterio" with puns and shit like that and i was like "what the fuck is happpening? why the hell they call him doctor misterio?", so i did a little research and fair enough, it was what people call him in other states (because that was how he was named in the old days of mexican television, so people got used to that). after that i looked for other weird names like that, so, long story short, altought we all can remember "Guepardo" for Wolverine, apparently for a brief period of time he was known as "Aguja dinamica".
@Raul Victor i've have no idea where they got those names, in the same x-men cartoon (that one from the 90's) we got "Titania" for Rogue, Titania doesn't have a translation (and the only Titania i know is the one from shakespeare's works) but it kinda means "female titan" but not really, it's more like a wordplay.

One of my favourite moments in Who right there. If there's any set of lines that sum up the Who watching experience it's that right there.
People always miss the last part of this quote, “... I’ll take care of the rest” which is my favourite part.
I personally have a soft spot for The Return of Dr. Mysterio. It's up there with The Androids of Tara as one of the most easy-going, comforting Who stories.

I wish they had included that emotional line about River at the end, which was my favourite part of the episode. But great reaction nonetheless.
I know this episode is commonly disliked, but I thought this was one of the most underrated episodes I've seen. I love Doctor Who and I love superheroes, and this episode balances both genres really well, and the banter between everyone was glorious. I especially loved the scenes between the Doctor and kid Grant at the beginning as we see how grandfatherly and eccentric he can be ("How do you keep a glass a water in your pocket?" "Skills."), and the ending was perfect. I know this will never be loved by everyone, but every once in a while, I watch this one for a good ol' laugh.

Lots of people complain about this episode but it is one of my personal favourites. The Doctor and superheroes. I love the concept.

This was my first Capaldi episode so its a guilty pleasure.

I really enjoy the framing of the episode. The Doctor essentially being this kid's Wizard SHAZAM is such a fun idea to me.
Doctor Mysterio is what Doctor Who was called when it first started showing in Mexico decades ago. That was the reference to that name.
What is this episode's title in Mexico?
By this point, BBC had stopped being streamed in Mexico, in fact this was the last Doctor Who episode before BBC was removed from the TV Guide. But to answer your question, it was called just like in the UK, cause BBC streamed with subtitles instead of full translations.

Saw this in cinema on Boxing Day, because I could not get time off work to watch the 50th Anniversary. I have to say, the best cinema experience I have ever had!! Really great to watch with fellow Doctor Who fans!!
This is an ok episode .
It’s a nice breezy rom-com with a superhero that also happens to have The Doctor in it .
However , Capaldi’s speech at the end is one of my favorite 12 moments .

dr103 my dad has adhd, I might have it too. Most of Capaldis episodes couldn’t hold my attention. This happens with a lot of shows. I ended up skipping a few whether on purpose or not and use blind wave to catch up on what I missed. I liked this one. I stayed with me. It’s funny, and cute, and Capaldi does a great job acting

I forgot how much I enjoyed this episode. But it is weird to think just how many times Earth has been invaded and some people still don't believe in them. And it's also weird to think from now on there is a superhero in the Doctor Who universe

This episode is a generic Super hero movie that the Doctor is bumbling his way through, I didn't like it the first time I saw it but after a second viewing I did a complete 180 on it and love it now. it's so good.
I know the scene Eric is talking about at 24:22 The Doctor didn't say "somebody said this to me," he yelled "thank you" to the universe for "somebody worse at this than me," talking about Grant's relationship history.
So bummed out you didn't include the Nardole speech at the end!

I quite like this one.
It's sort of crazy that the doctor just had a rock strong enough to create a being much stronger than superman and he just let a kid hold it like it was nothing and accidentally created a superhero. I mean imagine how easy the doctors life would be if he had taken those powers for himself. It's the same situation as the army Missy tried to give him. He denies power because he doesn't think he should have it. But if there ever is another "a good man goes to war" scenario and he needs help then he knows he created one of the strongest beings in the universe.

The dynamic between Grant and Lucy is full of misdirection, witty repartee, deception and coincidences. Reminds me a lot of Rock Hudson and Doris Day types of movies, where each liked the other but would try to fool each other into thinking they didn't.
