Could you picture yourself living in the middle of nowhere, nestled within the dense forests of Poland? This was once the life of Bronislava, a remarkable 100-year-old woman, who lived in this quaint, self-made cottage alongside her husband and their son, Heniek. This traditional home, crafted with love and hands worn by years of labor, stands as a tribute to their simple yet fulfilling existence, isolated from the chaos of the outside world.
Yet, ever since 2014, the cottage has fallen silent, its once warm and inviting presence now a spectral reminder of days long gone
No laughter, no footsteps, no signs of life reverberate through these woods anymore. The silence, deeper and more profound than before, envelops the area, creating an aura of mystery and melancholy.
Today, we embark on an adventure, hiking through the untamed wilderness to reach this remote and abandoned cottage.
We are captivated by the chilling allure of its preserved state. Within its timeworn walls, Bronislava's belongings remain untouched, frozen in time. Family photographs, utensils, and simple treasures linger, waiting for their stories to be told.
As nature reclaims the building, and mold and humidity encroach upon the cottage's interior, it becomes clear that time is running out for this hidden gem.
Join us as now we delve into the past, illuminating the history of this Polish family, and capturing the essence of their secluded yet rich lives before it fades away into the silent embrace of the forest.

This place looked simple on the outside, but it had so much inside. Great exploration, Maureno and Remon.

My maternal Grandparents in nova Scotia had a fruit cellar very similar to the one in this house. It was not in the middle of the room though.
When you were walking through the birch trees it reminded me of the pathway we drove to get to our camp in Northern Ontario 🇨🇦 and when the sun was shining and you drove down the pathway surrounded by birch trees it was magical. I really enjoyed this place. I'd love to live in the middle of the woods again like I did growing up. No light pollution, lots of wildlife and pristine lakes.
Thank you. I enjoyed this. The little blue sticks with small wads of cotton on each end are called "Q-Tips" in English. Q-Tips are used to clean out one's ears, or to apply medication to cuts, etc. Guys, that was a common little frog and not poisonous. Only small red and yellow or red/yellow spotted tiny frogs are poisonous and they do not live in any habitat where there is ever any cold weather. In English, we call this type of roof "thatch." It has to be repaired literally EVERY YEAR after each winter with new natural thatch added in. So, not being repaired for over 9 years, no wonder there is decay. I suspect that the most decayed part of the house was under a part of the roof had already gotten into a bad condition before the old lady died, She just abandoned that part of the house if she could not afford for someone to come and renew that part of the roof for several year . In the old days of England, cats and dogs would sometimes get up on the roof of homes, if the homes were placed at the base of a knoll. If it rained hard just before the roof was to be renewed with new reeds, the cats and dogs would fall through. Hence the saying, "It's raining cats and dogs" if one is caught in a very heavy, extended downpour because it took a very hard rain to damage a thatch roof.
Living in a cute Polish cottage in the middle of nowhere near this magical pretty forest would be the best thing ever tbh!!! 😍😍😍

The roof on the house is called “thatch” which I believe is a type of straw or reed.

I really agree to you, that this is a very secluded house. When you were walking through the forest, I was strongly reminded of similarily secluded houses in Finland. - Although some rooms were quite messed up, I could also see the beauty of this location and how cozy it was back in the days, when the former owners were still living there. - I enjoyed rewatching this amazing explore video and looking forward to your next explore adventure.
