I've been a nurse for the last decade and you've changed my life and so many of those that I come in contact with. It is a ripple effect. I spent years saddened by the large scale "health" decline in us humans. Feeling stuck, not sure where to turn, and not really sure how I could help.. Your podcast has been my greatest teacher, friend, sleep machine, mentor, alley; it's whatever I need at that exact moment and it (you) have changed my life.
I no longer work in the hospitals. Cause stress is bad Mkay?
How could I when I can't stop talking about all micro adjustments people could prophylactically do to enrich their lives? My mom listens to you all the time; she saunas and cold plunges religiously. I know I will have her around longer because of you.
With small changes I've been able to enrich the lives of my family, patients, friends, strangers, and myself.
You've sparked that excitement to learn back up in many of is! You've had such a bigger impact on the world than is even imaginable. The gift you have to research, understand, translate, explain, and deliver to the masses is truly delightful and amazing.

I lost a lot of weight, almost 50 pounds, in 2023. I did it by intermittent fasting, walking 10k steps a day, taking supplements, getting enough sleep, lowering stress, and eating more healthy foods (salad, chicken, etc.) and less unhealthy foods (ex: 2 spoonfuls of ice cream instead of 2 scoops).
I have hit a plateau now, though. Even when I take it down to one meal a day. I know I am in a calorie deficit most days but I am staying the same or maybe gaining a couple of pounds. I’m also concerned about how much hair is falling out. I’m a 43 year old female. I still get a 3-day period every 23 days. Never had any kids. One thing I know I need to do better is eat more protein and vegetables. I do take lots of supplements though.
I’d love to hear about how to boost metabolism and more about the thyroid and other reasons I may not be able to lose the last 10-15 pounds. I’m 5’1”…started at 181 pounds, got down to 131-132, now I’m around 134. But I don’t feel like I can eat any less than I am now without crossing into an unhealthy space.

We do this in Ramdhan even kids of around 12years fast and it’s must if thy achieved puberty fasting is must unless if ur in period or really sick .
But you eat at night and fast during the day.

Yes we need a second episode. This was so insightful, I didn’t know how fasting can heal our hormonal imbalance. Just the fact that working out during the time of the month is great. Just the 11 days I believe it. I’ve been doing some of these things alone like if my body knows exactly that it needs a reset. This was just confirmation.

My biggest takeaway is that I can control my PMDD by simply getting in alignment with my hormones. I've always felt like I have no control over what happens to me when they spike, now I know I can do something about it without the help of prescription medication.
I also love how I can create abundance when I'm in hormonal alignment, thank you so much.

Initially i timed perfectly when i did fast like a girl. Eventually after getting to know my body n menstrual cycle the fasting has been spontaneous. Without having to check the clock i felt differences in my cravings & hunger. Not perfect yet but i definitely see a difference ❤❤❤

After Thyroidectomy (partial) last year and feeling like this was my wake-up call.
I'm on track now! 46# down, give me a year and recheck my labs, med list from 20 meds down to 1, soon to zero😊

YES PLEASE ANOTHER EPISODE on what to do if 29 years old lost cycle. When do we start the process outlined in "Fast Like a Girl" if we have no cycle to track to?
Fasting resets our bodies and if you do it when the moon is in your sun sign and meditation, for 3 days you'll have healing on a cellular level and enlightment like you've never known
What you mean to do it on the moon is in your sign sign? My sun sign is Scorpio. :)

Good trick to remember is your moon sign is 6 months away and is in your opposite sign- which creates alignment.
We Muslims are recommended to fast 3 days 13 14 and 15 th of the moon every month as per the Sunnah of Rasool Allah saw

Wealth of information! I have a mirena IUD, and i just started tracking my periods a few months ago only to discover that my cycle is several months long.. I really have not been in tune with my body. Now I wonder whether my body is responding to too much stress, or it's going through menopause :)
Lots of good value in the interview. Thank you soul much Lewis. I would to point however that the first days of bleeding are NOT GOOD AT ALL for exercise. It is time to rest and rejuvenate. I have been working with and coaching women, for many years, and every woman who listen deeply to her body will feel the need to slow down in the first 2 days !! So I don't understand why she said that in the middle of so good information. Please ladies rest in the first days of your cycle, you will see the difference and feel much more energised and inspired in the weeks after bleeding.

“Be a student of yourself and your health” I have to some extent always known that but it’s only as I’ve gotten older that I have understood it and I give myself that time to slow down and give myself what my body and mind need. When you’re young you think you’re invincible and that you can push your body without consequences, it’s only when you’ve exhausted your body that you get it. The world is always pushing us especially here in the US where we have been taught that we have to have it and achieve it all but at what price.

I’d love to see another episode! I fast every day OMAD. This episode helped me be ok that 1 week before my period I want more food and carbs and it’s ok. I’ve been fasting since Jan 2023 and down 60lbs. I still have 35 to go. I really still struggle with pmdd 10-7 days before period and calm day of period. Any info on that would be so appreciated as I feel I’m going insane 10 days before!
Dr Mandy, I am a 49 years old, had perfectly healthy 3 boys who are currently 20yrs, 16yrs and 10yrs old. Never had a birth control phil in my life, however I have a husband who listens to me to have natural birth control with my cycle. I had my kids when I wanted them. More education to girls and our boys would make a big difference
Please do have her back! I lost a lot of weight fasting over a 3 year period, but I started gaining it back even though I was doing the same thing. Hearing this, I understand that I was pushing myself to extremes, and I think my body started rebelling against my efforts. I'm looking forward to implementing this new method

Her three truths at the end made me cry. Being with mononucleosis for 6 months was a life changing experience for me. And it’s true that our bodies are powerful machines that can heal themselves. My father has been with this disease since about 9 months he got meningitis which turned into an autoimmune encephalitis. He is bedridden now and hope and imagine of him recovering and healing. I miss him.
Do you know Jesus? I suggest breaking generational curses in Jesus name! Also everything she mentioned is very important too! Be blessed and healed in Jesus name!
