- Today is all about Under Hand Sneaks (UHS), the UHS much like the OHS is an introduction to behind the back movement patterns in Rope Flow. With the foundations built in OHS, the UHS can be learned quickly, however, it pays to be aware of the difference in the timing of the rope and body when shifting from either side or crossing the midline.
Here's a quick tip:
OHS: Rope then Body
UHS: Body then Rope
Sneaks in general reinforce the proprioceptive awareness developed in the practice of rope rolling and provide a solid foundation for further exploration into movements where one or both hands are not plain view ie. where we need to feel the movement more than we actually see it.
Sneaks are also wonderful movement patterns for accessing deeper rotation of the wrist, shoulder, and thoracic spine. These also allow a greater opening of the chest cavity through a gentle awareness of the expansion of the collarbone and the compression of the shoulder blades. More so, Sneaks bring greater depth into the practice of the coiling core by mimicking the posture and position of the body during sprints.
