      My rope is new. Is it normal for it to twist while doing the underhand and overhand?

    • @RopeFlowPhilippines
      @RopeFlowPhilippines  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@yellasibug478 yes its normal. to avoid the twisting, try to be mindful of your wrist rotations and wrist movements because they will help with the path and shape of the rope when you flow.

    As someone who being treated for my 4th cancer, my body has taken a beating. A friend sent me a FlowRope. It’s wonderful. My entire body is being involved. I had a 100lb weight loss. I really got weak. My balance is awful. My proprioceptive muscles are almost useless. Your easy to follow instructions have me on the right path to feeling good again. Thank you.

    • @RopeFlowPhilippines
      @RopeFlowPhilippines  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      My rope is about 500grams! I would suggest to practice in the weight range of around 400-700grams - this applies to all levels of flowing. anything more than that would make the ropes a little bit too heavy to flow with, but there are also heavier ropes great for resistance training and for learning specific moves

    I have a 1.6 lb rope. I'm having trouble with continuous flow on the dragon roll. Could the rope weight be a reason. I'm a complete beginner. also, how do I stop my rope from twisting. I love your videos. Easy to follow.

    • @RopeFlowPhilippines
      @RopeFlowPhilippines  ปีที่แล้ว

      yes try out a lighter rope like 1lb. To stop the rope from twisting really do your best to move your whole body including your wrists, shoulders, and hips, and being mindful of the wrist rotation to really distribute energy to the rope properly.
      Thanks so much glad you love our vids!

    Question on the length of rope. If you're not planning on jumping through the rope, wouldn't it be better to shorten so it's not hitting the ground, or do you need it that long to do all the moves to go around your body and over your head?

    • @RopeFlowPhilippines
      @RopeFlowPhilippines  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      you want the length of the rope in between your torso and your hips when you stand on it so that there's enough length to utilize the whole rope for learning the moves. hitting the ground is great for feedback but eventually you won't have to hit the ground anymore

    • @RopeFlowPhilippines
      @RopeFlowPhilippines  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Anneloes! The rope has main directions of overhand and underhand, but there is also the plane where you do your front swing or propellor :) this is the move that helps you transition from overhand to underhand and vice-versa.

    • @angealberto2688
      @angealberto2688 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi there! I prefer to start with the non-dominant hand, because you usually end up doing more reps/spending more time there. That way, by the time you come to your dominant side, everything is smoother and easier. That being said, your practice is your own and you can experiment to see what works best for you 😊 - Coach Ange

    So trying to do the under hand matador but keep crossing my arms and tingling to rope. Are you letting the rope rotate in your hands?

    • @RopeFlowPhilippines
      @RopeFlowPhilippines  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes you have to hold the rope loose with your hands to allow it to rotate. keep rotating your wrists as well!

    What is the difference between the race and chase pattern and the matador pattern. Sorry if this is a stupid question…I just discovered rope flow and know absolutely nothing!

    • @faisal33
      @faisal33 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not a stupid question! :) race and chase is one hit per side while the matador is two hits per side :) hope this helps!

    • @danlevick5773
      @danlevick5773 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@faisal33 I thought it wasn't about the hits per side but the actually movement of the hands - so the race and chase (or figure of 8) your hands are kept together with one hand almost chasing the other, whereas the Matador is based on the look of the classic bull fighting Matador shape where one hand goes fully across the body without the other hand following till later so you create a Matadors cape shape with the rope as the two handles of the rope become distance from each other before they come together again. This makes more sense to me rather than number of hits per side - otherwise if its only about the hits per side than how do we explain the completely different hand positions?

    • @RopeFlowPhilippines
      @RopeFlowPhilippines  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@danlevick5773 There is such thing as "anchored" where you can say right hand anchored race and chase which means the right hand is leading the movement, same with left hand anchored race and chase. alternating race and chase also happens when each hand crosses over to the other.
      at the end of the day 1 hit per side and crossing to the other = race and chase
      2 hits = matador
      its just an easy way to simplify and to remember it :)

    • @RopeFlowPhilippines
      @RopeFlowPhilippines  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey there! Concrete may or may not harm the rope, depending on how rough or smooth the surface is. Most Flow Ropes are heavy duty since they are made from really good material, you can add protection by wrapping your rope with kinesiotape or muscle tape around the APEX
      The rope will not harm your carpets :)

    Can someone tell me why this equipment is kind of expensive?

    • @RopeFlowPhilippines
      @RopeFlowPhilippines  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Flow Ropes are more expensive compared to Jump Ropes because most Flow Ropes suppliers use high quality double braided polyester ropes that are used for marine application - these are the same ropes used for yachts, boats, and for sailing. They're not cheap but they are known to last very long and can survive any weather!

      I got mobile, strong, and lean doing Rope Flow. you can vary your intensity based on how fast you go, how much tension you recruit, and how much coiling you can produce with your body. the weights of ropes vary too so sometimes a 1kg or 1.5kg rope can really build lean muscle and burn fat at the same time.
