100% agree that simplicity is key. That is what broke my hesitancy to move forward in polishing and coating our cars. Using DIY system is straightforward, uncomplicated, and very effective
Thank you
Good afternoon everyone
Great to see Christine!
The gloss is just phenomenal, once you hit the sun you're on another level
It really is!
Comprehensive and educational video, thank you. Love seeing Christine back in the shop!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great job, enjoyed watching, will help when I’m ready, thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
Love learning from two pros! Yvan, my knees and back need that chair!
6’2 and doing the low parts of cars could kill me 😂
We have even better on the way
Love the Accordion music 👌
Thanks, trying different things
The secret to hastle-free barrels is to have 5-spoke wheels. My '08 Lexus ES350 has aftermarket wheels of this type. Barrels sparkle but I have yet to warm up to the design after 3 years of ownership.
Agreed.
Love the videos, you guys are helping me get the courage to coat me and my wifes new vehicles. Couple quick questions, whats the ideal temp and humidity levels and should i polish the winshield and windows?
Great to hear! Best to have temps above 40 degrees F, 50 is better. Yep polish windows as well!
Awesome stuff!! You can actually watch the car getting more glossy as you are coating it👍🏻😎
Definitely!
I love watching your channel I love the education I get from it.
I got a question do you give any free samples out because I am a skeptic.
No, free has no value.
Awesome ❤
Thanks 🤗
Great insights and definitely makes me less nervous about doing it myself! One quick question, if one had to split up time between washing/polishing (and doing the ceramic after due to time constraints) what would you guys recommend doing? Should one just use some other protectant after polishing before I can safely wash/panel prep and ceramic coat say a week later?
Wash, decon polish. When ready to coat the week after, wash, inspect, polish if needed, panel prep, coat.
Hi Yvan, just about to start applying your 5year coating on customers new car. Love the ease of use of this product. Its my goto now. Have you guys adjusted the dropper on the bottle as yet, as it flows too fast for my liking. I know you mentioned in a video some time back that this would be rectified but havent seen this yet on the bottles i buy in Australia. Thx
We are still working on it, since we use aluminum bottles, not glass it’s hard to find.
@@diydetailofficialok thank you. Its a minor issue in the overall scheme of things. Im slowly building a shelf of your products as each one so far has been great.
@@diydetailofficial your response reminded me that one of my viewers recently said that adams graphene coating comes in a plastic spray bottle, and it is a true coating... I have always been the belief that a true ceramic coating has to come in either an aluminum or glass bottle.
Yvan. Is it safe to coat the backup camera lens? Also I'm glad you did a black car to show how it should react.
Yes, absolutely
Amazing video. Just what I needed to be sure of what to do when first detailing my black car. Also, I just wanted to ask, does it matter what temperature the water in the bucket and in the foamer is? Warm vs cold?
Not at all use what is comfortable to you, the warmer the water, the better it will clean, but regardless of temperature, the job will get done
I love the finish you achieve. What was the condition before you went over that Audi? Fwiw, as a native German speaker: That "e" at the end of Porsche is spoken with a low and short pronounciation. Say "Porsha", that should about do it. Audi is even easier. Say "howdy" and leave the "h" away.
It was in ok condition, but far from being perfect
Would you say it’s completely safe for the stacked coating 8-3 to leave the shop 6 hours after curing in winter, with salt and sand on the road Yvan? I know you say at least one hour to cure or more but I figure that’s in summer weather?
1 hour is fine, 2 ideal
How many cars (regular size like a sedan) can you polish with one bottle of the gold standard polish?,, saludos from México!,, i love your videos
With The Gold Standard Polishing System you will be able to polish as many as with 2 litres of other brands polishes.
Question, what do with the complex honeycomb / intricate grills typical of Lexus and Toyota? Ty !
I use a small suede applicator cloth to get into the intricate areas
Use DIY Detail Quick Beads once every 6 months
If you stack the 3 year on top of the 5 year, would it mask some of the glossy properties of the 5 year?
No, they enhance each other
That outty looked soooo good!
Thanks
Is your water spot remover good for removing concrete cement splatter? Does it need a long dwell time for this application?

Why not use the panel prep instead of the rinseless? Saves a step right?
No , polish and panel prep don’t play well together.
Station wagons are the coolest
Agreed
In other videos Yvan says not to ceramic coat plastics because they will continue to oxidize under the coating, but in this video he says to coat the plastic headlights and lane departure sensor. What is the difference?
Black plastic shouldn’t be coated
@diydetailofficial Why is this? What do you recommend using on black, textured plastics?
Black plastic fades in colour much faster and noticeably than clear plastics. If it fades under the coating , there’s a chance you will not be able to restore
Like a Mirror!!
Thanks Soc
Will you be selling the smaller twist loop towels featured in this video? They seem to be the same towel you use for drying the vehicle.
They are on their way
@@diydetailofficial awesome
How can you tell if the ceramic coating was installed wrong ? And how to fix ?
You will see high spots. To fix it, you polish.
Are microfiber towels disposable after use? How do I clean the applicator?"
We advise, after coating, to put your applicator and leveling towels in your wash bucket. Let them soak for at least 15-30 minutes, this helps prevent the coating from cross linking into the towels. Then put the towels in your washing machine and wash as you normally do
You may debate whether it is Porsche or Porsche, but its obviously pronounced Porsche.
Thanks for clarifying that .
What gives better gloss 5 year or the 8 3 stack?
5 year
Can I coat the plastic trim on the car that’s Matt finished ? Is it necessary to coat the door jams? I’m new to this
And door sales?
Yes you can coat the trim and the door jambs. It’s up to you.
@@diydetailofficialin the previous post you said NOT to coat the plastics. This is very confusing.🤔
my car is brand new and I am going to clay bar, should I still polish? seems that I don't have to, but want to be sure.
If using our products and techniques, no need.
I have a good friend that told Me about ceramic coating. I've done a few cars with Him applying ceramic coating... we have excellent communication. I apply, He removes. I hate removing coatings... I'm uneasy.
Ours is very easy.
@@diydetailofficial I'll be trying the five year coating in a few months. Thanks!
I think I screwed up and just had a Krown spray completed BEFORE ceramic coating. What is the best method to panel prep after a fresh spray?
Wash with DIY Detail All Clean
@@diydetailofficial Thanks for being so responsive to rookie questions. Just dropped $500 on your products 😬. I've fallen down Nick's rabbit hole. Your support and guidance is exceptional.
@@AdamOke thank you

WooHoo!!!
Thanks
What is the grit of your gold standard polish ?
It will remove 1000g sanding marks.
@@diydetailofficial thank you. So this is an aggressive polish ? Should it be used on thinner paint ?
It’s a pad dependent polish, do a test spot on the paint and have a paint gauge to read thickness if you’re concerned :)
What is the cure time ?😊😊
1 hour
Did you polish the windows and windshield?
Yes
@diydetailofficial do you recommend to apply the ceramic coating to the windows? Or should I use ceramic coating for windows specifically?
Our coatings perform well on glass.
Nick’s replacement? 😢 working together quite well!
No replacement, just having different people on the channel
@@diydetailofficial I knew that but I couldn’t resist lol You and Nick are great together but she would be a good replacement if Nick wasn’t there.
Hi Yvan and Nick, do you have a video on how to clean engine bays?
Yep! th-cam.com/video/4a0RV5mVRR8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=vm21Tm9cWBcqb5kG

Ahh Mr. Miyagi... :)
A classic
I must have missed something in these two videos, who is Christine?
Christine is a guest,
Cool, I thought I missed an introduction of her and her shop. Thanks.
Looks like a hearse:)
a shiny one lol
Let's do this
Thanks
She is so pretty. Why would she disfigure her arms that way?
Personal choice
