    As someone who works for Enterprise, I cry every time we wash a car using their preferred methods. A bucket with no grit guard, harsh chemicals, and worst of all: a horrible brush that we reuse on every single car. It's heartwarming to see you guys finally give an old fleet car some love.

    I'm an "end-user" who's looking forward to using your products on a new/used car I recently purchase and this Stacking seems intriguing. I asked this on another video(and have not gotten an answer), but I hope you can do a video on how to deal with an older car with exterior plastic/rubber trim that has been oxidized.. My goal is to do a full polish, decon, etc, but don't fully understand how and where to integrate a trim restoration product along with your ceramic coating post polish/panel-prep..

    • @diydetailofficial
      @diydetailofficial  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Do the trim restoration after the polishing stage. Do not apply coating to previously oxidized trim.

Question: last September I had my car color corrected and basic ceramic coating applied - it looks great, much more shine than without. I like the idea of having a bit more shine and a lot more protection - can I add your coatings (stack version) on top of what I currently have without polishing the surface to apply?

    When determining the "usable life" of your coatings, what percentage is that based on? 40% of it left? 10 percent? Zero?
    For example, most people don't use all of the tread on their tires, most of us assume them to be unusable at maybe 30% or so.

    • @diydetailofficial
      @diydetailofficial  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The only way to remove the coating is through abrasion. As long as you don’t abrade it with a polish or very poor wash techniques, it will not wear off.

    Can you explain the differences between the 3yr, 5yr and 8yr coatings? Is it just the different duration times or are there other unique qualities of each one?
    Also, I have a red pickup that sits in full Florida sun all day/every day. Does that decrease the duration time of ceramic coatings?

      And back to the NO on the panel prep before applying the 3 layer. In the perfect world we’d have the car inside in a control environment away from elements. But what if the car is outside through the entire process. How do we deal with any debri or anything like that before applying the second coat?? All I have is a car port. So my car is always exposed to the elements but I’m glad I don’t have to work in direct sunlight. Thank you in advance

  • @viperrcr

    I am thinking of doing "the stack" but I may have to do it in a two-day process on my vehicle parked outside. If I do all my wash, chemical/physical decon and polishing on the first day; for the second day since the vehicle will be parked outside overnight, should I just use a quick rinseless/waterless wash first or just a hit of panel prep should be enough before applying the first coating?

  • @frankmartini7337
    @frankmartini7337 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    You guys are awesome. Quick question; after applying the 8yr ceramic coating, we have to wait for 8 hours; during that time dust particles would accumulate on the surface, so do we wash again prior to applying graphene or we are good to go?

    • @diydetailofficial
      @diydetailofficial  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      2-8 hours, simply use a plush MF towel to dust.

    • @frankmartini7337
      @frankmartini7337 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The same concept would apply after we complete the polish and finish the day off with a panel prep. The next day we can use plush MF to dust then apply ceramic wait dust and then apply graphene

    For a newer luxury vehicle that has hydrophobic glass for the side windows, would you advise a coating?
    Also is there literature or a video you could link me to with more information about your coatings being lifetime?

      If the windows are hydrophobic, no need to coat them.
      Most coatings last longer than their advertised durability.
