Man I’m so happy to see someone use the Vonixx Paint Coating. I’ve been looking at it lately. Also thought you needed to use a special coating for matte wraps / paint so you don’t add any gloss. Super happy to see that it didn’t in your case.
Wow! That turned out BEAUTIFUL! What a show piece. Simply stunning!
Thanks!
Amazing results as always good friend
Love that your kitty came to inspect your work on the wheels!
The best!
Wow crazy how trashed that paint was! Turned out great though!👍 nice work!!!
This was an awesome video Phil ,super informative and entertaining as always. Excellent job on the truck it came out looking great.
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks man!
Nice turn around on that Chevrolet Silverado!! 👍🇨🇦
Thanks!
That truck looks good Phill and you’re right you will see factory defects in a brand new vehicle
I feel you !! I just bought a 2022 Silverado ZR2 black and the paint is crap !! Be very careful polishing the bottom Rock chip guard , it peels right off.
Great work team!
Great job as always Phil. It’s no wonder to me that detailers never own black vehicles for their daily drivers. It’s a lot of work keeping them looking great. Nevertheless a freshly detailed black vehicle is a thing of beauty.
Thanks!
Looks great, I’m a system x installer i wish i can coat a whole door in one shot like that but the coatings flashes in 7 seconds
My goodness! The paint was trashed. Have you ever done a paint pre-inspection for customers who are considering a purchase? Was watching a dealer cleaning off paint after a snowstorm. Not very good. Also walked down an aisle of brand new Silverados, and all had holograms on them from the dealership "detailing department." Aweful.
I see sweet little kitty gave 2 paws up approval of wheel coating. Great video showing new car damage Phil. You did a great job. Hi wife.
Thanks! Yeah some of our customers do ask for us to do that. But its rare.
BIG improvement! Being black & costly truck, I'd invest in PPF. After time, damage will be too bad to be able to save 👍🇺🇸
Hey Phil, I watch your video's all the time. I notice you always do a fantastic job washing and Polishing your customers vehicles Jessica too. I wanted to ask though many of the vehicles you guy complete come out looking incredible but there are always some swirls left behind. Is that because of your lighting and in sunlight the swirls aren't visible or the swirls left behind are just to deep to chase? Thanks in advance Ken.
Hi. Great question. So that’s why we talk a lot about only going as far as the customer wants and is paying for. If the customer wants is paying for and specifically wants us to remove all the swirls, or at least as much as safely possible, then that’s what we will do. However with our Paint Enhancement Services, which most of these jobs are, the customer is only paying for and wants gloss and about 50% of the swirls removed. Basically a reducing of the swirls and not a complete correction. That completely up the customer and not to us. So when some people see on our videos some minor swirls they conclude we didn’t do a good enough service, when in fact it’s quite the opposite. We have the customer service cacti what they wanted and paid for. It’s only on TH-cam that people get picky about these things, because they are only watching and not actually underrating that we are a real detailing business and not a TH-cam trendy video creator. It’s unfortunate that some “detailers” on TH-cam show the best results possible and don’t let us see the reality of what the majority of customers truly want. So that’s why I explain in our videos the reasons why we don’t go full paint correction on most vehicles. It’s not up to us. Thanks. 😎👍🏼
I just had a 23 Escalade (black) in this past weekend for ceramic coating. It must have been on the lot outside for a bit because there were ALOT of water spots and alot of "factory/dealer defects/damage for a 2023. And not every waterspot came out even with compound, but a vast majority did. I did not want to risk damage to the clear coat BUT overall it turned out fantastic. It to is a daily driver.
Awesome!! Thanks for sharing!
I find the balance of an enhancement to be a fascinating subject and you touched on it briefly here.
With your customers and demographic in your area, most people are looking for enhancements over corrections and north of 50% removal is good.
I find that in Utah, though things do tend to get super dirty and it's a moderately harsh environment whether it's the freezing temps and road salt in winter or the sun beating down at 110°+ in the summer, but in general we have a very very fine dry sorta dirt around here. This results typically in more of the haze and micro marring type of stuff and not as many really deep scratches, which can be nice tbh because it allows me to shrink that gap between an enhancement and a correction as I'm able to shoot for around 70% removal/improvement and I'm likely still putting in less work than what you have to do for 50% improvement.
I guess what I'm saying and the part I find fascinating is that it's important for detailers to really give all of the variables a good hard look, and the typical level and types of damage on vehicles IN YOUR LOCALE is one that's easy to miss. Even variables like your environment and typical damage on the vehicles which aren't something you can necessarily impact, are important to account for because even if you can't change that variable, you can change your approach to it and in some cases use it to your advantage.
Ultimately the variables are the switches and knobs you have at your disposal to tweak and manipulate in order to be more profitable, so detailers need to constantly and consistently make sure they're looking at them and fine tuning.
Exactly! Great points!
Good video, to be honest the clear coat thickness is really good for a new car, my car come with anything from 4.9mills to even 2.5mils, the sides and the lower area of the car was the worse, ive seen it alot where new cars the average is 3-3.5mils sometimes less, I don’t a enhancement and ceramic coating on mine but I can’t keep polishing it
Awesome video /content good friend
Nice video Phil 👍
I'm finishing up on a Honda Civic and also doing a Ford explorer

Mr i watch every vid you put out,and never disappointed,I see u used the 3 in flex, have u seen the new SPTA 3 in mini polisher?i have ordered mine and was hoping you would make vid of it,since you have the SPTA polisher, and because of you i was introduced to the SPTA brand
Hi! Thanks! I just got the SPTA mini polisher that they upgraded! So you will see that soon
Phil: Great video. Out of curiosity with it being a new truck & the paint job being that horrendous can the owner take the truck to the dealership & have them repair the paint given how expensive the truck is?
Thanks. Yeah he could have...but honestly he didn't care, It looked awesome and he was happy!
Awesome content! Crystal Serum Light is one of the ceramic coatings tht u use often, is tht a 1year coating?
Thanks! Actually CSL is rated as 3-5 year coating.
Good morning, what an amazing turn around, but it’s sad to see a beautiful new truck get scratched up like that 🤷🏻♂️, but it’s in good hand at Miranda Detailing shop 👍 💯
Thanks!
Excelente trabajo 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷 . Bien por los dos. 🙎🏻♂️🙍♀️
Fantastic video phil! I just coated a new Silverado yesterday lol. I’ll send u a pic is messenger
Great video as always ! Came out super glossy!
I checked out your new page ! 🙌🔥 I saw it’s starting $900 for coatings right? How much more do ya go up for suv or trucks ?
Thanks! So yeah the $900 is for a one year coating on a small car. Our 2 year coatings start at $1200 and 5 year at $1500. This includes the paint enhancement, and then paint, trim, glass, and wheel faces are all coated also.
@@MirandaDetailing oh awesome ! 👊🏻 never thought of glass. I usually do paint trim and wheel faces. Good idea !
Another great video again, did you use Dr. Beasley’s polish NSP-45 before? If so any cure time after polishing before you apply the coating? Thanks very much, and sure enjoy your channel!
Hi Thanks! Yes we did use the NSP 45 and 95 on this one also. no need for cure time, you can coat right away!
this is either last year or yesterday video. :D
I see leaves and cold people.
also, good to see the supervisor making an appearance at the 11:54 mark or so. :D
🤣 yup. It was a few weeks ago.
Well done Phil
can I use a coating on a newly painted surface
Hi. You should wait at least 30 days to allow the paint to cure. Then you can polish and coat it.
Great video Phil. Vonixx line is interesting. Just watched Brian over to fab do a review of their leather products. Question , how do you feel this line works compared to say the gyeon line that I've been using for a couple yrs ? If it's relatively similar I would stick with what I'm using. If vonixx is quite a bit better maybe I would take a closer look . I'm not one to jump around to different lines . Thoughts ? Happy holidays from cold and snowy vt , 0 degrees in my truck on the way in to work this morning. Lol take care
Thanks! I mean I find all these product lines to have pretty much the same stuff all around, but some companies will have certain products that stand out...like the vonixx Blend AIO polish is like 3D Speed! Awesome stuff!
Great video, what is the brush you used for the wheel barrels? Thanks
Hi. Its the Pureest Wheel Brush. bit.ly/3t2xeCT
That truck is amazing. Love it. Shame about the paint job though. If that was my truck I’d be taking it back to the dealership before I had it detailed & coated. The dealership should put it right or pay to have it done. Nice work though guys. I love picking up tips from you. ❤️🖖
Thanks 👍
Nice turn around Phil. Does that Vonix coating have more of a sweat or rainbow effect? More similar to Gtechniq?
Thanks. It’s actually a mix of both. It sweats a little and rainbows a little also.
that was a brand new truck? wow... lots a marring for something new... great job on the enhancement
Yup, 2022. soft black paint man...its a killer.
Phil what’s your guys take on 2022 BMW 430i Sapphire Black. Soft or Hard clear coat?
Hi. Well we haven't polished one yet so have no idea. Best thing to do is do a test spot and see how it comes out.
I keep thinking new paint is thin. So far I have been finding the opposite on cars i have or friends. My 2021 Tacoma TRD I had before had 5mil thick paint. My current 22 Camaro SS 1LE has 5.5mil thick all over. The most surprising my buddies new 23 Tacoma TRD Pro has a 7.5mil thickness all over the paint.
Very interesting....That's good though, maybe they are changing things!
What clear coat tool did you use in this video? Drop the link of it please.
Hi. Sorry what do you mean by “clear coat tool”?
@@MirandaDetailing the tool you used on the paint to determine how much clear coat is on the paint before you started polishing it? You look at the paint thickness. Which one do you use?
bit.ly/3W7FPkH
Great video Phil. Can i ask you experience with those cool.....hexagon light??.......... I have tried them they...more bother me than helping my eyes.....
But they are great for photos
Thanks man. So before I got the I thought they would just be good for filming, because I heard so many people say the same thing. But now I find they work great for interiors jobs in our shop. They are help with seeing coatings on the paint. But I guess it’s just us. We love them now.
@@MirandaDetailing as all things in life and Detailing....it depends what everyone likes better in their world!!!!!!! Thanks Phil, great new video keep up .
I see a pattern on shorter video's lately i wish they will help the chanell. Much love from Markos Mdetailing Greece
Exactly. 😎👍🏼. Well I have found that all the stats on my channel have gone done dramatically since I started making some changes. 👎🏼😡. TH-cam can be very annoying. So I’m not playing that game any more and going back to the way I usually make my videos.
@@MirandaDetailing o have a very small chanell (4k subs) and i understand what you say.......this TH-cam spiders and algorithm changes very often lately and we creators ...fight among what we want to film vs what TH-cam we suppose now wants to push up.......
Crazy isn't it?
Yeah totally! I figure if people want to watch our videos they will do so because they honestly enjoy them and not because TH-cam is forcing or tricking them to. So we should just keep on making videos they way we like.
Hi, I enjoy your channel. I live in Pennsylvania, looking for a good pair of rubber gloves to keep hand warm when washing car in cold weather, an help would be appreciated, thanks.
Ron
I thot I was the ONLY nut who washes their car in middle of winter in PA. Im going to try my nitrile gloves, theyre thin but will keep my hands dry. I DID see if u enter "gloves for washing car in winter" on Amazon.. I saw LONG gloves that look fine. When washing, water can go inside short ones. HOPEFULLY, we have a mild winter.🙄🤞👍
Hi. Thanks. we used these for a while and they worked great. amzn.to/3FkfOHq
@@MirandaDetailing🎄 Merry Christmas🎄 to u & the Mrs.
Hey Phil I just did my own DYI PPF , did a terrible job lol I have a bunch of bubbles , I saw a video where someone was using a very small gauge needle syringe to take them out, is this safe to do ? Some of the bubbles are quite big which is why I’m even considering doing this, not a great time to do PPF since the weather is so cold the moisture looks to be trapped inside not evaporating . Thanks !
Don’t know if a heat gun will be advisable to try to get the bubbles out don’t want to ruin it completely
Hi. So we do not have any experience in PPF installation yet. So I can’t say, sorry. You may want to ask Chicago Auto Pros. They know their PPF!
@@MirandaDetailing thanks appreciate it!
Hey I wanted to ask you how many microfiber towels would you go through on a sedan?
Hi. That’s really difficult to say. I never really count. Maybe between 10-15 towels for the exterior. Way more for the interior.
What’s you’re favorite hand held light to find defects? Not a wand, I have that but not really a fan
I love this one amzn.to/3hitcUQ
@@MirandaDetailing thx
Hey Phil my customer just wrapped his corvette in a gloss white, can i still use crystal serum light to coat it?
Hi. Oh yeah, SCL can go on pretty much anything!
Are Those the Kirkland mircrofibers if so i saw a video that apparenly are no good for soft paint. they marr the paint really bad.
Hi brush they the Kirkland towels. But we have never had an issue on soft black with these towels. However I have had a few bad batches of towels that were really rough feeling and I just returned them and got a new package and they were soft and totally fine. So I think a few bad batches get out and detailers completely write them off as they are ALL bad. But it’s not true. I have been using these towels for years now.
How do you go about chrome bumpers on these newer trucks if they need touched up
Hi. You mean if the chrome is scratched or chipped and needs touch up? If so t there is nothing we can do. Just polish and protect. But if the chrome is scratched or chipped, it just needs to be rechromed.
@@MirandaDetailing yeah i meant what’s a good polishing combo. I know a lot of chrome varies on each vehicle and most these days is made cheap, but on the “real” chrome.
@ArthurMSoto oh I see. I would just use the same polish that I use on the paint. Chrome is very forgiving and easy to polish. I microfiber hand application of any polish will work great.
Soft black paint is sooo sketch, but coatings are epic, just like your work bru.
Totally! Thanks man!
Was this basically a 2 step since y’all used an orange pad then black after ?
Hi. Not really a full 2 step, I had to go a little heavy in some areas, but not over the entire thing. so our Enhancement services we will do what ever we need to do to get the paint looking 50% better. so sometimes that means using more aggressive pads and polishes in some areas.
@@MirandaDetailing ah okay makes sense ! Yeah I noticed black trucks usually require more refining and polishing. I should charge more for black 😂
Man for a truck that expensive, that paint job is embarrassing. I would be upset about that
What are those bright orange shoes you're wearing. Can't make out the brand
Hi. Just these cheap sneaks, amzn.to/3j2VVx3
I wonder if the client takes the vehicle through the automatic car wash?
No he just bought like this.
Will a ceramic spray sealant remove the polish residue from the Dr Beasley?
Hi. We have found that it doesn’t really remove that residue. It kinda shows through. But it does eventually go away after a day or two. It’s better for true coatings.
@@MirandaDetailing
Great thanks for the response. I plan on using it with DPC TMR coating but was just curious about spray sealants.
Every detailer I know told me all US car manufacturers do a crap job painting new cars cause they make junk and don't care. Japanese and Euro brand painting is vastly superior.
Nice vehicle and enhancement
Brazzzilllllll representing
Oy Vey this Black paint on the truck (brand new, really?) is in terrible shape. Had to be on the lot for a while
If this is what the paint looked liked from the dealership, i would be straight back their for this to be rectified. Terrible condition.
Mmmmmm……..rocky road edition
I had this same job but on a gmc brand new black super scratched bad was tough to do one step only with swirls still left , what do you do or what do you say if a customer with a black vehicle after being coated comes back soon and says it has scratches or swirls all over again ? Would you have to redo the entire service
Hi. That's where good communication comes in. You HAVE to let the customer know about paint like this. It WILL swirl up over time...It takes constant care and gentle washing...all of that. If you do that and communicate all of that before hand you usually don't have problems. We wouldnt redo anything...They signed our form and thats it.
Man I’m so happy to see someone use the Vonixx Paint Coating. I’ve been looking at it lately. Also thought you needed to use a special coating for matte wraps / paint so you don’t add any gloss. Super happy to see that it didn’t in your case.
Its great stuff man!
