The new 2023 Maserati GranTurismo Folgore EV visited the Nürburgring for two weeks of testing. Italian engineers brought two full electric Maserati GranTurismo to the famous race track.
The italians worked hard with the prototypes and managed to get a clear lap with the GranTurismo Folgore EV prototype on wednesday evening where we achieved a hand-stopped lap time of 7:59 minutes. This would be just 17 seconds slower than the Porsche Taycan record of 7:42 minutes. Not bad for a first try in this early stage of development.

Like all the electric cars... Nothing new.
Not impressed with the NBGRG lap time (17 seconds slower)compared to the Taycan Turbo S regardless that it is a prototype , considering that: the Taycan has almost half the horsepower (600's/ LC high 700's does not count at the ring) is 5000+ lbs (the Mas cannot be anymore than that), the Mas has three motors ( for more positive torque vectoring), the Taycan has two. Also less than 3 seconds 0-60 in the Mas is not saying much at all when the Taycan has been clocked as low as 2.4. Both have all wheel drive to help their launch.Could be that the Taycan's is better calibrated. Can't hardly wait for a review.
Sounds heavy as hell. What is the curb weight of this thing? Did you hear the tires screaming for help around the corner?

It’s a granturismo, like Bentley Continental or DB11… they’re not made to go fast, they’re made to eat kilometers and kilometers…
