@@JFXPedals 100%, but some people are also drawn to true bypass for some reason as if it was the “real thing”. I like the fact that part of the tone relies on that and kind of myth busts things.
@@RobinhoGuitarCovers thanks! This was all recorded with my guitars volume knob at 10 too.. most of the time I will roll it back in to clean it up more anyways!
Fun fact, John reportedly refers to the Major as his 'bass head' because Hillel actually used a Super Bass as one of his amps - this carries on what he did.
You can use the JCM800 model instead of the Silver Jubilee. That would probably be the closest. I'm not sure what other Marshalls there are in there to sub for the other amp though.
I know, I'm sorry... I'm in a bit of a content slump right now... Somehow in my head creating episode 3 has become a huge obstacle that I need to overcome... some serious procrastination and avoidance has kicked in... 😭it's actually holding me back from creating other videos too... please bear with me!
Hi, how much do you think the external processors (FOH outboards / soundboard) are involved in John’s tone? To me it seems like a 80 from John’s rig and 20 from outboard processors.
That's a good question! Unfortunately, I don't have a good answer 😞 I don't think there was much, if anything, going on but I do recall seeing something about some compression. I'll have to look more into it.
I'm curious about the 100W plexi emulating the major whether the power amp settings might make a difference. Is there an option to change the power amp valves to KT88s like the major has? If so I'd love to hear the difference
That's a good question! There are so many settings in the Axe-FX that it's overwhelming haha 😅 I try and stick to the basic ones but I will definitely look into that!!
Can’t wait for episode 3
You have so nice, deep and soothing voice i would listen even if I wasn't into the topic at all
@@amol_lamo I'm flattered 😅😅
cant wait for episode 3!
Awesome! I've fallen a little behind but hopefully I can get it done this week ☺️
Any chance you might still upload episode 3? Just found this series and really appreciate your insight
Me too! That would be great. 🎉
The buffer thing isn’t something you hear a lot about, it was great to have it demonstrated. Looking forward to the next vid.
The good thing is most people probably have a buffered pedal already. Especially with how many BOSS pedals there are out there!

@@ugopaleni2131 I agree haha it's funny how things went that way. Buffers certainly are useful in a lot of applications!

Great video!
Thanks Koen!
Very nice video! There's definitely something in it I can use to make my sound better. Looking forward to the next episode 😎
Thanks Robin! I still think this tone needs some tweaking but it's a good start 👍
@@JFXPedals it's quite good. My tone is to clean or to crunchy. Difficult to find the sweet spot

@@JFXPedals that's a very good point. The volume knob is something i really overlook
@@RobinhoGuitarCovers I used to be like that too! Always on 10 haha 😆 now I adjust the volume and tone knobs all the time
Damn I had this sound. But I always thought the sound was too hollow and boxy. But thats just the sound of the Silver Jubilee!
Waiting for episode 3!! I think frusciantes tone is hard to get with Axe fx
I'm pretty happy with the tones I'm getting with it! I'm gonna work on some pedal demos this week but I'll get back to this series soon ☺️

I actually mentioned that in episode 1! A lot of the articles I see online refer to the Major as a bass amp as well
waiting for the 3rd!
I've been in Japan for most of April! I hope to get back to making more videos shortly after my trip 🙂
The buffer before the CE1 must to be in front of CE1? or can be in any point of the before pedals from the chain?
Any point in the chain as long as it's somewhere before the CE-1 input
@@JFXPedals thank you very much!
looking forward to the pedal episode 😁
There'll need to be a few at least!! 😂
when can we expect the release of the third episode?
Interesting video !
Thanks Harold :)
Great video thanks! Do you have a suggestion of an amp from HX Stomp? I also thought about trying the Red Pig from Amplitude.

@@JFXPedals Thanks. I forgot to say that i have the Jubilee but I'm looking for something to replace Major actually.
@@kurtdenizci I just took a quick look at what's available for Helix. Looks like the Brit Plexi Jump could be a good place to start!
