I saw the angels live in a pub in Wellington 1983 I was 16 years old. And all the motorbike gang members were there up the front with me. You should of seen the smoke come out of the band room as the Angels came on stage. We ALL got stoned straight away. And the gang boss kept filling my glass with beer. I was brave then and still am. Such a cool night! And the boarding school staff didn't notice I was missing for several hours. So cool. Thanks Doc and the Angels. RIP buddy.
@@OldAussieAds Yep. Saw the Salvation Tour at the Palais in St Kilda yonks back and everyone else was going off, headbanging, sliding around on stage and Rick's just standing there - just his hands going up and down the fretboard and strings. Quite funny..
@@OldAussieAdsSo much so that during a show at The Enmore in Sydney they replaced him with a cardboard cut out for a song, he played from offstage, and Doc jumped over and kicked it in half…the audience freaked out until they realised the trick.
Hi Jules. Yeah. The Angels have always been a great band, but don't forget mate, you Kiwis have put out class acts that we aussies have claimed as our own, such as Men at Work & Russel Crowe. And you only live across the ditch, so we're practically related mate. Have a good one & stay safe. Cheers.
OAM medalists !!!!! Nothing better then The Angles in the earphones , 110 speed limit , sitting on a buck 50 , passing the world , and feeling free ! Fcuk we have some great musicians and a fcuk load of highway They don’t make like this anymore
"Beyond Salvation" was a great album. One you should look up is "Liveline," an album of live tracks, and there's something about these guys that makes them sound a whole lot better live than they do in the studio. There's an uncensored version of "Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again?" The audience participation tells you why it's been banned from school dances around the world lol
like i said before, this song proves that the Angels are equally with ACDC 2 of the best hard rock bands ever , no question this is a top shelf act and it doesn't get better than this.
Ahh. The memory's. The first gig I ever went to was the angels when they toured with Cheap Trick. I was about 10 yrs old and went with my big sister. Cant remember the year, but I've been hooked on live music ever since.
I saw Doc and the Brewsters live in 1971 as the Moonshine Jug and String band. Next was at the drive backing up Chuck Berry as the Keystone Angels then more times than I can count as the Angels. One of OZ's great bands.
Must have seen this Band over 300 times ,regulars at the Stardust hotel in Cabramatta ,back in the late 70s and early 80s ,back then 3 bands a night 7 days a week, i got to see many awesome Aussie Bands ,plus a stint with Mushroom records in Melb as a light guy ,look back now and think what a privileged life i had
im 23 I am so happy Im getting the Chance to See The Angels for the 5th Time In November love this song so much, Ive seen The Band billed as the Angels without neeson 3 times with neeson once, and the new line up with gleason looks promisng, Cmon Rick bring the angels back to top of the charts. Fuck lady ga ga and all thet plastic shit.
About 12 years ago I got a tattoo " BEYOND SALVATION" on my upper arm inked in Gothic style...no regrets. Dogs are Talking and Rythym Rude Girl are my favs
So…here I am 60. I saw Angels back in the day. But I always so wasted! Saw them Bombay Rock..Playroom…etc. ( I’m a Gold Coast boy)I remember a time, though brief, they were BIGGER THAN AC/DC. I often JACK UP my car stereo, window down, arm out, blasting angels and AC/DC. I did it back in the early 80’s in my black ( mad max ) HQ and I’m still doing it in my RAV4 hybrid 🎉 do what you enjoy cause YOUR OUT OF HERE SOON ENOUGH
For what it's worth, I'm an adult, a male, and I agree with you! I was listening to Angel City (The Angels name in Canada), since 81 and this band, signed by Malcolm and Angus Young's bro, George, is one of the best kept secrets in rock music. I actually corresponded a bit with the bassist, Jim Hilbun, aboot 9 years ago, for a bit. He was bassist in mid 80's on the Smmmokin' 2 Minute Warning album. Get the fuck out of that album
This tour.. I think it was at the Mansfield Tavern(???) BRISBANE Bob had a mannequins hairless head that he swung around... Ambience 😉 ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT
Great song. Bob Spencer (the bald guy) rocks!!! He rejuvenated the Angels when he joined and left before they became irrelevant. The fact that they are continuing without Doc and with three Brewsters and Dave Gleeson really is a pale imitation of their peak.
They never became irelavent mate. They are one of the best rock bands in Australia's history. Bob Spencer was a great guitarist but apart from some later song's Like this one. The prime of the angels was with John Brewster was there.
RIP Doc, one of our best Aussie rock frontmen..
The whole band are brilliant.
He was legends never die
The best
Love that jaming in the phone box
%100 HE WAS !!! RESPECT DOC RIP 🕯🙏🏻😢
Bob Spencer was the perfect fit for this band. I saw them live, so much energy and such a buzz every time. Miss you Doc.
This is 1 rock band that could teardown any joint..thanks Angels for the best times, you guyz rock...

The Angels will never be the same without Doc, RIP mate
They sure aren't the same anymore, don't get me wrong, they're a phenomenal band, but nothing beats the original line up including Bob Spencer
Criminally underrated band that deserved better.
Next best thing. Stop crying.
Feels a bit wrong the brewster brothers have basically claimed it. Caused a lot of fights between original members them pair
What a way to go. Right back at you. Death by pom pom 😂😂😂❤ 1:05
I love how Rick just stands there playing the guitar whilst everyone else is going off...!!!
Was he like this live too?

Great Angels song. An absolute classic!
R.I.P Doc! Aussie legend!!
Absolutley love this song. This is true aussie rock n roll
...you guys are lucky. Kiwis could never rock like this. Always a disappointment. Well done ockers!

Big fan of Aussie Rock. Glad I stumbled across these guys, now i'm blasting this shit every week at work!

The Dogs Are Talking and The Angels Are Rocking !!! Awesome !!!

Awesome, mate! Rock on!!😃
I saw their 'night attack" tour in '81 on t.v. when I was11yrs old. Went the next day to the record store. Great band!! Sad about Doc.
Potentially, the Greatest-Aussie-Rock-Band ever. A box trifecta with Cold Chisel & AC/DC?
Good Luck young-musician's.

Agreed!!

Beyond salvation was a banger. Liveliness was the best live album ever. Brought 3 copies I wore that thing out and blew my speakers
@@danielhopgood5202 oh funny. I reckon I very nearly blew our speakers also. Great to remember. Thanks Caroline x
Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again is a rip off of a Status Quo song, note for note.
Yep was at the concert
like i said before, this song proves that the Angels are equally with ACDC 2 of the best hard rock bands ever , no question this is a top shelf act and it doesn't get better than this.
AWESOME shit!!! I love this. KICK-ASS music. Enuff said.
Top song!🙂 The Angels have some great songs!🙂
This song could get the dead to get up and dance honestly. Doc was such an amazing singer.

This song proves the Angels are the equal of ACDC both being 2 of the greatest hard rock bands ever.
