PROPANE Go Kart! FASTER than GAS

  • Faster Propane go kart top speed increased on a non hemi Predator 212 cc engine! To really take advantage of this engine it would need safety mods on the flywheel, springs, and rod. Then, up the compression and take advantage of the use of propane efficiency on this dual fuel carburetor!
    I have a second video on HP results for a hemi predator engine, this current engine is the predator non-hemi. The Hemi engine seemed to like the propane a little better. I would guess if I swapped engines on the go kart I would get more from the propane on it then.
    I will be putting propane on a minibike build soon on a Briggs 5 hp engine I have built up just for this!

    Remove the governer and add an aluminum connecting rod for better results. And even better than that with a new cam, valve springs, intake cone filter and an exhaust! 🏁

    Propane is substantially better at moderate to low temperatures compared to petroleum fuel or ethanol because you do not have to worry about the atomization of the fuel or the Stoichiometry being correct

      I have a better flywheel on it than the stock one due to swap for electric coils, and I'd recommend you swap springs. Running it with no load will come close to if not to valve float.

    There must have been something wrong with your octane set up with this engine (carb jeting, timing, compression ratio ect.). In all seriousness propane should never out preform it's gas counterpart. The molecular structure alone is proven to be less powerful when complete combustion occurs. Now I'm fully on board with it being less expensive (not by much in some places) and cleaner burning and because it is being used in a small engine most people wouldn't notice a difference (the ones who don't really know their engine and how it preforms on any given day)....but on paper and lab tested propane is an inferior hydrocarbon to octane fuel, so is butane and methane...but fantastic video. Oh and to the individual that stated propane is better in cold conditions obviously hasn't ran much propane at high demand volumes, nor have they encountered what happens when propane gels and liquifies at low temps.

    I had that exact same model go kart, I dont know like model name or number but I remember havin that sticker on the floor pan. I unfortunatley was informed by my dad amd uncle of a friend of theirs who had a go kart just like it without a roll cage, he was riding around an empty parking lot. He didnt see there was a chain blocking off this one section and it caught him at the neck and he and the go kart flipped with him under it and afterwards hed been paralyzed from the waist down. Thats why I got rid of it, I could have made a cage for it but I didnt want a flimsy cage

    Will this work with a 80cc bike engine?

    • @megoingfast
      @megoingfast  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes and no. The carb is for a clone size engine. The 80cc has different size studs. A few adapters needed. The regulator can manage gas flow and it's opening the diaphragm with vacuum pull on the tri-fuel carb. It should pull needed amount of gas, but, the carbs don't bolt up the same and air gap spacers would need to be customized. The 4 stroke engine will have no oil issues. The 2 stroke 80cc will need an injector system. Very difficult to manage.
