  • @TheOzthewiz

    One extra set I take when changing oil in my engines, both small and car engines, is to run a full quart of oil through the engine after the oil change, helps to flush out MORE of the dirty oil when it's just starting to drip out. I use the CHEAPEST oil for this FLUSHING, you are just pouring it through the engine. I have done this for decades, my last vehicle (2001 Cavalier) accumulated 205,000miles with NO INTERNAL issues, traded it in 2018 toward a '13 Focus, only because of MAJOR body cancer (RUST NEVER SLEEPS)! Btw, I always considered the "break-in" process to be done for seating the piston rings, for car engines you would VARY the speed of engine continuously for about 500 miles, otherwise you WOULD end up with an "oil burner". As I understand it, today's car engines are broken in when they leave the factory, yet some owner's manuals STILL advise a SHORT break-in period. So, are they broken-in or not?

    I'm with you 100% as far as changing/flushing new oil through ''A NEW ENGINE'' multiple times. I believe it's a very wise, easy, & inexpensive procedure to perform. I've heard those Predator engines are ''very good'' considering how inexpensive they are, however, I'd bet you'd get the same results as far as finding all those little aluminum bits in any brand of ''new engine'' you followed that break-in procedure on. Good job & great video, Sir.

    Wow I used Supertech conventional 10w-30 and in 10-12 minutes the oil was black every time I changed it while braking my. Predator 212cc I’m going to run Pennzoil full time after what I saw and just read about that 10w-30 yellow bottle, that oil has the best evaporation and flash point of all oils on the market including m1 all synthetics!!!!!

      Thank you for the comment Pennzoil is a good oil.

    • @TheOzthewiz
      @TheOzthewiz ปีที่แล้ว

      Just make sure that the Pennzoil you are using is the "ULTRA PLATINUM" and not just the platinum, there is a DIFFERENCE. The tests that "Project Farm" used in his test was the "ULTRA" version. That oil does indeed have the LOWEST volatility of any oil out there. I use it in my '13 Focus because of the GDI engine, the throttle body shows VERY LITTLE oil residue, so less oil vapor is getting on the back of the intakes.

    You forgot the directions to start it, the red knob in the front turn to on, on the side that you were trying, to start the white stays back, the throttle that you opened a little comes about all the way open or I just pull it all the way back, and the black switch on the bottom you push all the way toward the front, it will almost always start on the first or 2nd pull of the cord, when it starts push the white level to toward the front and leave it there, other than that you did good. Knowing this is an old video just added this in case someone has bought them a new replace motor, I use it on my splitter and have had no issues, this is my 2nd year using this engine, you can catch it on sale for 99.95 with the special coupon, but can almost always get it for 119.95, you can't beat this engine, its a good one.

I’m not sure how small the flakes are that are shed from the crankcase, but for a few bucks it’s not worth the hassle for me. I hope people dont take your advice. The manual says break in is 3 hours, during which no heavy load, no max speed. After 20 hrs of goin easy, change oil.

      Well it is a cheap made-in-china engine. Safe to say you can break it in any way you like. I see no issue with the way Kevin did it. Probably better to change the oil every 15 minutes than to let it run with aluminum casting dust in the crank case for three hours.

    You don’t have to take the oil sensor out you just disconnect it

    You will always see metal flakes in the oil. I know that for a fact because I use those engines quite a bit and believe me when they are on a go kart and it’s under a load you will get a lot of metal shavings. There is no way around it because they are a cheap Chinese lock offHonda
