I loved listening to Brené; she's such a thoughtful listener and insightful person. As a reader of your books Tim, I can say that your departure from peak performance and the study of success, to self-awareness, empathy and acceptance is very refreshing. I'm fascinated to see where you go with this and looking forward to reading your future work.

What a great point/perspective on mental health/illness pathology being viewed as armor. Fits right in with the question of "what happened to you," and NOT "whats wrong with you."

Don’t worry man! You’re moving into a natural evolution of the human consciousness. Those that see the shift in you and are encouraged by it, will seek the shift in themselves.
Ram Dass, Wayne Dyer, Deepak Chopra and Eckhart Tolle don’t have a shortage of followers.
Don’t seek permission from your audience man. You’re already in good company. Go for it.

Excited to see this shift from you Tim! I have looked up to you for so long as a digital mentor, and I'm so grateful to tune back in to see you're taking on this challenge of finding fulfilment. I'm on the journey with you. 🙏🙌

I would love to hear more about Tim's journey on mindfulness, self-awareness, and cultivating inner peace. I have read all of Tim's books, and also love listening to Ram Das, who is perhaps on the opposite end of this ego spectrum that Tim describes. I happen to think Tim brings mindfulness to all of his work, but its interesting he feels his audience is disconnected from this. Like if you would support Tim Ferris content on 'Developing Self-Awareness." Would you ever try a meditation retreat? I'm curious to hear comments.

"Narcissism is about grandiosity, driven by high performance and self hatred....shame based fear of being ordinary". By that definition, I am CERTAINLY a narcissist. I personally can't stand the thought of being "ordinary". When super young, I was made to feel inadequate and physically unattractive. I am wired to love grandiosity. I try to channel it through art, which in my opinion is a relatively safe place to practice big untethered ideas. I certainly don't lack empathy and compassion for others, and I don't think anyone else is lower for wanting something more "ordinary". I love people. I think the clinical definitions of narcissisms need significant revising.

I find that I’m more self aware and intentional with my day to day routine. I’ve managed to focus better on school and building my web dev portfolio. I really talk about how I became mode self aware on my TH-cam channel

Tim, can you recommend a book to help explore this area or a book which asks the right questions to get you thinking on this path? There is no good way to google this to find a book because you end up with mish mosh recommendations. Also, take yourself and your work to this area, the world has enough on how to be successful or at the top of your game.

I know your comment is 2 years old, but in case you or anyone reading is still looking, Tim gave two book recommendations on this topic in his blog post "11 Reasons Not to Become Famous":
      1. "Radical Acceptance" by Tara Brach
      2. "Awareness" by Anthony De Mello
Without going too much into it, I'd say they're both well worth a read. The first is much more hands-on than the second. The second left a bit of a "woo-woo" impression on me, but had some thought-provoking tidbits sprinkled throughout.

“What differentiates us as a social species is the need to be know, seen, and loved by others. And the need to see and know and love others.” This is good and true but what’s missing here is the the need to know, be seen, and loved by God. This is what so many seek on their self-awareness journey. Seek the spirit of God. This is what the people that had all the success are missing (in a lot of cases).
It’s not about you or me but the one who knit us together and had plans for us before we were even born. Jeremiah 29:11.

Millions of people are going to disappear soon, hope you’re ready and won’t be deceived. The rapture of church is at hand and the beginning of the 7 year tribulation will start. If you don’t believe then read Mathew 24 and see how it lines up with what’s going on in the world today. Do not take the mark of the beast in your right hand or forehead or you will be condemned forever. Salvation is a free gift of God, for by grace are ye saved through faith (Ephesians 2:8-9) and Romans 10:9-10

Fascinating take on this video, I wonder if other people have felt this way in the past? WWI, WWII? I appreciate that you included references for people to check out.
