"The tabula rasa" concept is certainly a good way to proceed. When you start feeling that something isn't right about the path you're on, it's a good time to ask yourself who you are, what you strongly believe in and ask yourself if you are doing what you should be doing (career, people in your life, etc.). Procrastination: Try this : Studies show that you can create a new GOOD habit in 30 days. Map out your goals for the next 30 days, and work on the goals each day.
Your 19 and the road will be a tough one but if you stay on that road and keep driving forward, through snow, rain sleet, tornadoes, you will make it! When I hit 23 that's when it all hit me too but you just got to stay the path and most importantly, passion and FAITH!🙂
I think this way of planning is superior to using time + goals. Something like a plan for your year or five years provides much less enthusiasm vs just imagining where you want to be and aligning everything with that. I notice specific time deadlines are the main cause of my procrastination. When I replace the deadline mentality with a compounding one I tend to complete things quicker.
People procrastinate due to fear of failing but we should reprogram our minds into thinking failure as a natural step to reach towards our goal we can learn from our failures and not repeat it again so failure is actually good for our growth so we need to fail more and fast
I'm now here, joining this journey. We're not alone, there's so many of us (sadly?). But we don't form communities- even though we should. Thank for you putting effort into this!
I have joined your joiney as well BK. Its very hard for people to form communities when they are unmotivated and in a challenging mental point in their lives. Whenever I'm having a rough day, I have a tendancy to isolate myself instead of reaching out to those who can help me in even the smallest ways. It takes a lot of effort to reach out to others and admitting that your mentally not doing well.
Hi Karima. I use Google docs to create my metaphor of a blank piece of paper every day. Less trees are killed this way. These documents can be edited and / or updated etc. I look at this method as an electronic version of a blank piece of paper each and every day.
Life is a whole journey, where you will come across everything and everything. You just start your path, it looks scary but it is worth walking. Greetings from Mexico.
I’m looking forward to seeing these videos and seeing how far I’ve come since starting and I hope you will too. It's a journey that doesn't get documented enough 😌
I think, the "blank slate" you explained is pretty much like how to be open minded tho. Some say, nobody can completely go without any bias. And that is tough. But i think, you missed one question: where would this journey end? or where is the destination of this journey? And i would say, the only absolute thing about our life is our own death. Like, no matter how many black slate we got, that absolute thing will come for sure 100%. The follow up question tho: what will happen after our death? Then, how we should prepare for that? I can see two main options to prepare that: 1) you can do the trial and error (the thing tho, normal living being only dies once). 2) you can look up "the manual" of this journey.
First hello there... It's nice to have people to support you , stand with you and be there for you but in reality it's like 20% to 30% of people who actually do that genuinely for you. So i don't know about anyone so I'll speak from my experience.. for me having people who do that is one of my big dreams cuz ... (again it's only my experience not a known thing) ... I've been alone for a long time and I've realized that people only care for you if you're strong or have some kind of power they don't have only then they want to be with you and they'll show respect and in order to have that you need to be disciplined, dedicated to whatever your dream is and have the patience to spend a long time doing that without anyone's support and that is the tough part but once you go through it and finish it you will notice that people stopped looking down at you , they'll claim that you're the best friend they ever had and unfortunately some of those people might be your family... So once you're there you will have everyone's respect, care , sometimes even their love.. i think also that is a part of almost everybody's dream to be acknowledged by the people around you by your family by anyone you know or will know in your life... I'm sorry if i talked much and thank you for your reading
I appreciate your comment no need to apologize :) I have the same goal. It's a lot easier to find that when you aren't 'there' yet. To find someone who like you for you, not what you have, or where you are going. I wish you the best of luck🤝
This is SO awesome!! Have you ever heard of the saying "you are your environment"!? Your four stepped method reminds me of that saying in some ways. The where you are and where you want to be (your environment) are leading to the who you want to be, so that you can know what to do about it! I watched one of your earlier videos where you seemed maybe too nervous to articulate much of anything, you've come a super long way in two weeks!:D I'm a little confused about the fifth step that wasn't in the description? Maybe the how you go about continuing the steps from the start again!? Your honesty is greatly appreciated! 🙏
That's an awesome summary, I love that, thank you! I am a little confused by what you mean with the fifth step. Do you mean where to go after answering these questions? If so, that will be the next video once I have reached that point😅
interesting video. i'll probably do this. i've been doing similar exercises often , this one can't hurt either. i'm not sure how blank slate it is if the first question is kinda auditing where one is rn tho. i'm curious about what your answers to this are as well, at least the part of them that you're willing to share here
I'll share some of my results in the next video, thank you for the idea😁 The blank slate is a new beginning. ,Knowing where you are right now helps figure out what direction you want to g. The rest of the questions help you close that gap even further. I too am testing it; I'd love to hear your results if you are willing to share.
I honestly have no clue how I got here but since this is the video that was initially in my recommended, I thought I'd leave a comment on here c: since in ur latest post you said that you really enjoy reading thru all the comments, so here we go 🤧 also you said you wanted to post at least once a week, I'd say try not be too hard on yourself if you miss a week or two. Theres still gotta be fun involved right? ^-^
That's very kind of you! I like to think the best things are found by accident maybe this is one of them. P.S: I'll keep in mind to be patient with myself.
'I'm lost and I procrastinate a lot' - Me IRL also.
