My brother watched this video and got a g35 he recently past away ❤️🕊 he is in a better place now, he loved his car and would always work on it so now I will carry on the g35 may he Rest In Peace
Same here. I have a 14 Q60s that I've owned for 5 years next month. I have never owned a car for anywhere near this long. I have been considering the 400z when they come out... But idk, we'll see.
I love how it sounds with a muffler delete. 05-6' averages about 20-22 best if you're always pushing it. 07' would be slightly better, 08' slightly worse and honestly for 5-10k they are fantastic
Got my 03 g35 with only 30k miles on for $5000 back in 2018. The guy only sold it to me because he said "I looked like I'd take care of it, and not mess with the engine or anything". He tested me by asking what I'd do with the engine to make it faster, race with it, etc. I kept telling him I thought all that stuff was "stupid kid stuff that breaks the car" he smiled and sold it to me. As I was leaving his driveway, he walked up to me and I rolled the window down, he saw me on my phone trying to connect to this radio bluetooth thing he had in it. He told me to listen to Bobby Vee's "Most popular song" as I drove home, on repeat. I told him I liked older music, but I was unfamiliar with the artist, so I did as I was told. I started the song and rolled the window up and drove home. The song he made me play is a song that sends shivers down my spine to this day, and perfectly illustrates both my love and his love for the car. That song was "Take good care of my baby". I wash the car every 2 days. I do a deep clean every third thursday of the month (wash, wax, vacuum, condition leather, clean engine bay, wash the cupholder of rings, take the seats out sometimes, shine tires, etc). My g35 is my most beloved thing in this world to me. It is also a curse; I love it too much. One of my Ex's asked if I loved my car more than her, to which I stupidly said "yes". Everyone thinks I'm crazy for treating it like a person. I have named him Dale, and everytime there is a problem with it I always say "Dale will prevail". He hasn't been the most reliable, tbh. He costs about $1,500 a year, probably the worst when it comes to maintenance for a g35 I have ever heard of, but most of those "problems" I fix are those that most people won't ever repair. I go to my mechanic and always says "I heard a noise...." they roll their eyes because they think I'm crazy, check the car and say it's fine. Most of the time, though, there is an issue with it. It'll pop up usually a week after I get the "all clear" signal from my mechanics. They always ask "How did you possibly hear that?". Idk. Through the blasting music I listen to.... I have no idea. I don't plan on ever selling it. I see old men who still have their 70's cars in their driveways, and I hope one day my G35 will be "that cool older car" someone sees as they pass by, and maybe, just maybe, if I like the looks of the kid I'll send them home with it, asking them to please listen to that same song on their ride home.
👏 👏 👏...What a great story... if you're not a writer at this moment you should definitely think about dabbling in it good sir. What a way to round out your story. If I ran a VQ magazine I'd hire you in a heartbeat 👊
I think it is the fact that it is very hard to change the sound. I did a muffler delete and then replaced the reso with glass packs and I'm about to do headers. Even with all of that the sound doesn't change that much. I love it for what it is but can be raspy on high end.
The problem is most people do like the sound they make stock. It's when they straight pipe and make it loud that it gets annoying. Loudness doesn't do it any favors unfortunately
Jolo Guevarra same bro! I was trying to see what they got to say about my G. I mean he is true but i still love the car since it hits my criteria very well
One important thing to know for g/zs If you get aftermarket cats make sure to have at least a 2.5” cat back with some good resonators if you go custom. If you don’t have resonators you’ll living in rasp. And don’t ever just delete your resonators, that’s a good way on ruining the tone.
Fr, and if your goanna do an exhaust might as well do it right and drop the money for full built exhaust and header systems, they’re pricy but if you had the money to get the G35/37 you can definitely drop the money on the exhaust and make sure your engine isn’t shaking mfs idling at 300 rpm car about to shut off 😭
I have a g25 which no one seems to speak about im guessing its pretty bad, I have had issues already with things like AC, sunroof and tires but other then that at 160k miles it still runs smooth and I've beat even some tuned trucks on the launch altough they do eventually catch up and pass me since mine is fully stock. Its still fun it doesn't sound like the g35 but it still sounds sporty and sometimes I feel like im the only person who even owns a g25 in today's day
Me and my dad went looking out to buy a car, and we saw the G37 sedan looking nice, but we didn’t realize what we were actually getting. I’ve had my 04’ g35 for about 3-4 years . I love this car and will keep it forever . Still get plenty of compliments from time to time. And I always break my neck when I see another clean g35. Just beautiful to look at .
@Kevin Du actually the rev-up DE burns more oil than the standard DE. but the HR engine only found in manual 350zs from...06 to 08 I think? and 07-08g35 sedan, those are the ones where oil consumption was finally fixed. Not to mention dual intakes andincreased redline from the rev-ups 7k to 7500 (my poor old regular DE automatic g35 topped out at 6200 lol).
This feels oddly tamed towards me. My name’s Rebecca I bought a G35 that was owned by an old man who drove it to church and back and nodded the hell out of it.
@@Lethal.G37 got mine around 19 yrs old? Think my insurance was like 90 a month. Now I'm 25, I have no idea what it is now cuz I don't care, it's worth it.
@maher rahman bro I have a 2013 G37S sedan rwd! The car is actually decent on gas if you don't have a heavy foot!!! I fill up often due to me punching it all the time lol!! It's stock except for my lowering springs and my Nitto G2 tires and I've personally touched 152 mph with ease!!!
I’ve owned my G37 since it was new in 2010. Unless somebody can wow my socks off I’m gonna keep it. It handles well, had no major repair issues and still looks good ( garage kept). My only issue is with the Bluetooth or more specifically the crappy Bluetooth. If I could swap out the CD player/Satellite radio I’d go Apple CarPlay.
I drive my 2006 G35 auto sedan part time for an Uber type company and get regular compliments on it despite the hood paint coming off. Came with the 18" wheels, spoiler, and 7 speaker Bose system for $2500 CAD. Harder on gas than I'd like but sounds great and engine is still rock solid at 180,000 km.
G35 and Subaru have the most beautiful exhaust notes!!! They stand out from the over and done repeaters. Can’t tell a difference from an SI and a type R from a prelude. You know when a G35 or a WRK drives by
Turned a G (VQ lover ) in 2020 as well ... been wanting one since I was 15 . I am 22 now and finally got one. Anyone who sees this GET ONE . you WILL fall in love !!
These are the most under rated cars. Great looks. Great upscale interior. Great engine that sounds wonderful. Handles well. It is bullet proof. Needs no maintenance other than regular fluid changes, tires/brakes etc. And they are inexpensive. I had a 2009, and now a 2015. I like it too much to replace it.
I still have my 2008 g37s coupe 6MT and it has about 74k miles. I first modded the car as a stance car with bags over coilovers with VIP Modular wheels and drove like that till about 2017ish and now it's all bone stock except for the exhaust. After driving the car with stock suspension, it felt amazing to really drive the car; just taking off on first gear or taking out to backroads or mountain roads and just feeling the rawness of the car. I'm now thinking about modding the car again but mainly for road and some track... can't wait!
Ive had two G35s & one G37. My father has a G37 as well. Reliable, powerful daily driver. Just too limited when it comes to what you can get outa it / modding cost vs power gains.
Best sounding exhaust on VQ's is the Motordyne no drone, no/ rasp or trumpet sounds for that matter. Any quality aftermarket exhaust will sound great when paired with the MD ART Pipes as they eliminate most of drone/rasp created by most catback systems.
100% straight pipe is gross, but im telling you mine has 2, 12in glasspack resonator and it sounds amazing and only cost me approx $300 buying the glasspacks having them put in and a muffler delete
"They aren't super fast". False, my G35S smokes 95 percent of cars on the road. For a sedan it might as well be a rocketship, everyone that has ridden in it has had the same reaction: "Woah".
I filmed my G hitting 200k miles and posted it on my channel. I recommend getting one if you can afford to take care of it. It's not fun owing one you can't afford to keep in good shape, it will just piss you off.
I also love the sound of the G35(2008)/G25(2012)/G37(2012) and FX35(2007). I happen to own all 4. Currently. Very reliable vehicles. Very. Parts are inexpensive compare to a Benz or a Bimmer. 140-170k miles on that Infiniti? No problem. Still be going strong. My Brothers bought a 2012 G37 sedan with 215k miles on it and it ran as if it was new. Not one rattle inside. And the engine felt like it had 360-380 HP. Those Euros variants?? Engine problems. Blown engines. Blown turbos. And that’s only barely after 100k miles. Brakes and rotors very expensive. Lots of Water pumps and electrical problems on both. Good luck finding a reputable mechanic. And if u do, he’s gonna be very expensive. Just like the parts.
Kevv don’t listen to jay the g35/g37 are one of the most reliable sport coupes you can buy in manual, just make sure to get vq hr motor 07 or newer due to earlier model may have excessive oil consumption.
I've owned one and I had no reliability issues. It is a great car especially for the prices you can now get them for. Just expect to get 18mpg, and if you get the 7 speed it shifts very slow.
@@johnss2k434 all good no worries. Sure it could shift quicker and maybe have a little more low-end torque but I feel like the G sedan is a gem in the rough. After all, its a Skyline 370GT at the end of the day. Assembled in Japan :)
Love my 06 sedan, 230k miles with only needing a radiator and just did the timing chain. Beyond the normal oil consumption, it’s been a great car even at @ 14 yrs old.
I love my g35. Got it garage kept from my mom that bought it new in 2003. So I know the life of it. Regular maintenance and bone stock with the exception of the rims and tires that I helped pick.
Josh Nixon I’m 29 with a 80 some people hate the 20”s on it some love it, I’ve got a w710 in the back, working in a few projects for it I’m going to mod fully when my money gets right it’s just a cruise ride for now til I get some work done put some wheels on it changed the starter a month ago now it’s acting up so probably need a new one mine has issues haha have been working on the interior and electrical for now, plans soon for front suspension and rear but I need a house before I keep throwing a lot of money into it, will be either ls3 or newer engine swap so I can let my dad drive it some when I get the time and money If it was a say early 70s I’d restore it to stock but I’m adding function inside with cup holders and functional center console it’s a plan and I just gotta get the right materials probably going to foam it and carve a mold for everything then make fiber glass or some sort of fiber:epoxy mold similar to plastic finished product.
Just sold my highly modified 2005 G35 6mt. Had it since 2006. One of the OGs on the forums. It only had 30k miles on it when I sold it a couple weeks ago
17 years old right now, been looking for a g35 coupes to buy for my first car. Unfortunately they have a problem with engines stalling and just not finding anyone willing to sell theirs. Settling on an accord coupe but still happy if i do get the accord😁
got my 2005 g35x from my grandma. had 40k miles in 2019 when i got it… garage kept and changed the oil every 2500 miles. i still keep in the garage and still change the oil every 3000 miles. it’s at 78k miles now. i love the thing. put a plenum spacer and a short ram intake for the sucking sound. i love the car. perfect paint and headlights
I drive a G37 IPL, and am very pleased. Performance: my best 1/4 time is 14.4 seconds. The G has plenty of torque, but the final drive ratio is less than perfect for 1/4 mile times. The G shifts from 4th to 5th gear just before the finish line. So I am crossing the finish line at the bottom of the torque curve not the top. Automatic transmission: with 6 forward gears, the transmission is always “hunting” for the proper gear. The slightest change in road elevation, and the G will either up or down shift. Reliability is excellent. Other than routine maintenance such as tires and oil changes, I haven’t put a dime into the car. Summary: if you can find a used G37 IPL with less than 50,000 miles, get it. You will be please with the bang for your bucks.
I owned an 05 G35 6MT between 2012-2015. It’s probably the best car I have owned so far. I agree it’s a little quirky but I think it’s in a good way because that way, you’re on top of the maintenance. During my ownership, I replaced the clutch, thermostat, and fuel system. The gas tank I think was too big for this car (around 22 gallons?) and after bolt on mods you wasn’t getting the best MPG about 15/22. Making over 320HP no turbo was enough for me at that time.
As soon as i finish paying off my my work car, and get through pilot school. I'm getting a G37. I was looking through JDM cars that were affordable at their age and not unbelievably popular yet. Came across the G37 and I fell in love. Appreciate the video.
Just got a 2011 g37X coupe. It came in as a trade in with 186k. Came in with minor front collision. Everything is Intact just cracked. Lowered on coilovers and sitting on 20's. Come to find out after I took it for a ride that a wheel is bent from the steering wheel shaking like it had parkinson's. But the sound of exhaust note caught my ear and that was it. I bought the damn thing.. wasn't even looking for another car. Currently have the wheel being repaired. Waiting on the new bumper and grille. I even purchased a new motor with 47k that I will swap if the motor goes. I can't wait to get this thing on the road once I get it back together. I'm so excited!

@@danielwarr7010 yup, had an 03 and 04 and was better off than my 06 on oil

Same here buddy. What mods are you planning to make or made ?
Have you changed the trans fluid>
This feels oddly tamed towards me. My name’s Rebecca I bought a G35 that was owned by an old man who drove it to church and back and nodded the hell out of it.
Drive it hard and the ecu will adapt to new driving style...or just do the hard reset....this car adapts to ur driving style...the algorithm
How many miles did it have when you got it? I am looking at one that has 34k miles which seems like a good deal.

@maher rahman hell yea😭😭😭
G37S Coupe and Q50S are aesthetically the best out of their line.
Have you changed the trans fluid?
same man I just got my permit and the bluetooth doesnt work properly when I connect my phone to it
I drive my 2006 G35 auto sedan part time for an Uber type company and get regular compliments on it despite the hood paint coming off. Came with the 18" wheels, spoiler, and 7 speaker Bose system for $2500 CAD. Harder on gas than I'd like but sounds great and engine is still rock solid at 180,000 km.
I've owned both, a G35 coupe & G37s coupe. Both manual and lowered. And I gotta say, the G35 was more fun to drive in the canyons.
Never clicked a video so fast on my life 😂

Just picked one up 3 months ago i been waiting 😂😂
Factzzz!
G35 and Subaru have the most beautiful exhaust notes!!! They stand out from the over and done repeaters. Can’t tell a difference from an SI and a type R from a prelude. You know when a G35 or a WRK drives by

which one do your recommend more 35 or 37
Never have I ever heard someone say that g35s don’t sound good 🤣
Totally agree, I thing the guy from this video has only heard a G35 owned by a kid who decided to put a cheap ass muffler from eBay.
They don't sound good lol, but I like the style of it
lol G cars are literally the fart cans of the v6 world.
G and Z cars with HKS rep exhaust and eBay cat deletes are why people hate G35 sounds. No one is complaining about Motordyne G35.
They actually do sound terrible
Representing the G35! I love this freakin car! I’ll never sell mine

If yur nanas g37 was a manual then you have the coolest nana ever
Just bought a 07 g35 sedan 6mt last week! Love it! Can’t wait to put a STILLEN Exhaust on it!
I'm now thinking about modding the car again but mainly for road and some track... can't wait!
i got a 6MT sedan... probably gonna keep mine stock though... debating if i should get an f80 m3 or the is500 -_-
Ive had two G35s & one G37. My father has a G37 as well. Reliable, powerful daily driver. Just too limited when it comes to what you can get outa it / modding cost vs power gains.
You either love or hate the sound of the exhaust. Either stock or performance exhaust......no straight pipes, it also makes them sound like shit
Best sounding exhaust on VQ's is the Motordyne no drone, no/
rasp or trumpet sounds for that matter.
@@Rotary787B Big facts I got motordyne. The sound is incredible
@@Rotary787B I have HKS on my G and it sounds really good, paired with other motor mods
The shockwave exhaust on a g37 is the most sexual sounding car. Period.

Currently have a Jeep SRT and Challenger but I miss my G35! Will always love that VQ sound!
i watched this video on loop during the quarantine wanting this car so bad. fast forward to yesterday and i just bought one!!! :) im so excited
"They aren't super fast". False, my G35S smokes 95 percent of cars on the road. For a sedan it might as well be a rocketship, everyone that has ridden in it has had the same reaction: "Woah".
Not my Honda Civic tho
Maybe if you build and boost the motor? But stock? Good luck.

I own a G and wouldn’t give it up for the world!! She’s been good to me as I have her
I also love the sound of the G35(2008)/G25(2012)/G37(2012) and FX35(2007).

Watched this video 2 years ago, After working hard now I’m back and I can say I own a G35 as a first car. 😎
