    Damn, i think making a new swingarm wouldve been easier and more structurally sound. Im a mechanical engineer, so this type of stuff makes me uneasy; however, i commend you for going as far as you do to bring your viewers this level of modification. Gives me ideas about how to go about extending or building a longer swingarm.

    • @EmxBrandon
      @EmxBrandon  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah your not wrong, but i dont have any steel shops near me so it wasnt an easy option at the time. The only place near me sells industrial steel and pipe, no tubing or thinner walled stuff. But the swing arm has more than proven to be tough 💪 i always inspect my builds regularly anyways though! Plus if you look at any swing arm guy in the community we are all doing it like this!

    • @DescartesRenegade
      @DescartesRenegade 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@EmxBrandon the problem would eventually show its face over time because everytime there is stress, it's concentrated in the weakest spot. This happens over and over. Having uniform properties in a single tube spreads out the stress. Every now and then ensure the arm is still flush.
      Anyway, love what you've done to the mototec. Would like to see you turn it into a 14/17

    This is the best mod ive ever seen on these mototech / funbikes! Things are getting serious when you make your own swingarm ;). Hope it doesn't hurt the wheelies!

    Nice videos bro. Just bought my son the venom 1600w and wanted to know what other options there are for batteries. Right now the stock is a 48v 13ah. His runtime is not that long. Not looking for 72v atm either.

    • @EmxBrandon
      @EmxBrandon  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Appreciate you! If your on facebook joing the mototec Electric Pitbikes group! Some have been having luck with the bombmoto b1 72v battery, most of us use amorge and get a 5x6x8 battery made. I have a recent video how to get in contact with them! If you go that route grad some cardboard and make a cutout to see what you can stuff in there! Amorge is quality and super cheap!

    • @terryfrome1641
      @terryfrome1641 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @EmxBrandon Hell ya bro. That Amorge site is exactly what I needed. If I upgrade the controller does that alone make a difference? Thinking of buying one but I don't want to waste money once we upgrade to the 72v kit. Thanks

    • @EmxBrandon
      @EmxBrandon  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @terryfrome1641 yes just a controller upgrade will get you almost double the speed and so much more torque with a good tune! Check out eforcemotorsandcontrollers.co for a flipsky kit. Youll definitely need a controller if you go 72v but it will work on the stock 48v, only problem with the stock battery is your running double the power so it will cut your run time im half or more depending on how hard your on it.

    • @terryfrome1641
      @terryfrome1641 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @EmxBrandon thanks bro. Does the bombmoto b1 battery fit in the mototec bike? Looking at the specs it's a decent battery with good capacity. If it does I will probably buy that one.

    • @EmxBrandon
      @EmxBrandon  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @terryfrome1641 theres actually a couple people who have already put the b1 in their mototec! You gotta cut the side panel tabs off though. Which isnt too big of a deal, i use zipties to strap mine back on and it holds perfect and you cant even notice them if they are black!

  • @irocss85
    @irocss85 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    What do you think the top speed will be with this set up? Trying to figure out why people haven't custom adopted a cvt trans to these electric motors to have the best of both worlds like in the mini bike world.

    • @EmxBrandon
      @EmxBrandon  ปีที่แล้ว

      With this gear ratio probably around 50 atleast thats what i was told but ill find out soon and do a top speed vid! That would definitely be interesting to see a cvt trans.

    How manny tooth?
    Where can I buy the rear sprocket and pulley?

    • @EmxBrandon
      @EmxBrandon  ปีที่แล้ว

      65t custom 420 sprocket on electro&co website or rebel gears website. And the motor sprocket is from a primary chain coversion kit for a surron. But i believe electro&co has different tooth sprockets for the qs165 now

    You could have just got a swing arm from a pit bike.

    • @EmxBrandon
      @EmxBrandon  ปีที่แล้ว

      It wouldnt work like that, putbike swing arms are designed for the chain to go over them i need the chain to go inbetween the arm. Which would make the swing arm wayyyy to wide for the hub i have.
