    Nice work! I’ve been considering making the switch up to a tf8 chain at some point. I’ll say though, I’ve been amazed by what these little 25h chains can handle!

      It is crazy how much those 25h chains can take! I rode those chains for the better part of its transformation lol they could do anything. After I added all the pit bike parts it was a lot heavier tho and the tf8 just made more sense.

      @maukaman ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@GypsyTales420 So you never even got to a point where you were breaking 25 chains with that motor eh? Good to know. It’s looking like the chain type I choose will be decided more by availability/cost of the correct sprockets rather than by chain strength then.
      I even found a cheap 92 tooth #25 sprocket on Amazon, wrong bolt pattern but I suppose that one could be adapted for a super duper torque gearing if I wanted.
      I actually have a little one-wheel trailer that I mount up to pull tools and stuff around the farm sometimes so the torque comes in handy. Sounds crazy but it works really well while in motion 😆

    • @GypsyTales420
      @GypsyTales420  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Definitely a big change. It’s way more solid. It is definitely a lot for the motor/controller. You can tell by how much the volt meter drops when accelerating, much more energy is used. It’s probably at its limits, you would need a bigger motor/controller if you weighed over 220, I’m about 200 and I can tell it struggles on steep hills, Kelly controller beeps with a controller hot error code. I’d like to try a 17/14 wheel set up it may be a better fit. The forks are incredible though. I haven’t weighed it but it’s close if not a little heavier than the sur ron lol

      There's good videos on here about gear ratios, and some online calculators you can try also. I guessed and actually bought two different sizes and went with what worked best. There's a lot of factors like the wheel size, the stretch, your weight, the type of chain you are using, and what your overall goal is. I have a 64 tooth that gives it a lot more top speed (almost 50mph) but the acceleration and hill climbing lacks, the 90 tooth only goes about 37mph but has crazy acceleration and hill climbing ability. The link to the pit bike kit was unavailable so I found one on my own but it only came with the 17” front and 735mm forks. Thinking back I think those forks r way to big. Electro and co is 630mm almost 10” difference. What size forks were yours? I can still return and get the right one

    • @matthewlizardi1148
      @matthewlizardi1148 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Also do you think the electro and co swing arm is long enough to fit the bigger rear wheel or should I be looking for a longer swing arm

    • @GypsyTales420
      @GypsyTales420  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Electro and co didn’t have any of these parts when I built the bike. The only offered the motor battery and controller. I would go with their stuff it’s probably a better fit. I’m 6,3 so the bigger stuff fit me better but I could tell the extra weight was definitely at the limits of the controller/motor. It all just depends on how crazy and custom you wanna make buddy.
