The actual game time was over three hours, but a lot of it was people thinking while doing nothing, as could be expected, so the edited video is much shorter

Wow what an ending. 100% did not see that coming in the slightest. This was WAY more fun to watch than it had any right being considering it was a 4 way control mirror.

Basically richard drew a miracle with his "Spectral sailor" he drew "Glacial Chasm" then he was able to kill both of them with "Price of Progress" and he lives with his land.
100% agree so fun to watch even tho all control

This has been amazing. The thing i love the most about control decks is you are never completely out of the game. And its so hard to know who's in the lead.
This is the most riveting game I have seen in a long time, and I aint even joking.

As someone whos only really ever watched MTGO/Arena, I'm enjoying the switch to paper a lot. The on screen graphics really help clarity, and not having to deal with MTGO's jankiness is really nice (even edited down it would slow the experience down as a spectator, it mustve been 10x worse for you guys lol)

The only episode that I feel has held up to the previous seasons on MTGO.
I miss MTGO big time because of losing the hand camera, but this is the kind of episode we gain because of the switch. Someone would have timed out if you played this on MTGO and that never felt good.
I do miss the video being 3 hours longer so i could result experience the pain of this kind of match though. Lol.

Dragonlord Oj was so much fun in standard. Thats when i got into edh. My esper dragons was a fnm pub stomper. My favorite card that standard rotation was "silence". The look on peoples face when i would silence them was priceless

On turn 18 - during Crim's turn - at 51:00 Seth used Azcanta to get "Approach of the Second Sun" to his hand.
Then his turn followed.
As such during his turn Seth could have simply used his Boseiju's ability to make an instant or sorcery spell uncounterable and used it to cast "Approach of the Second Sun" a second time - just like he did for the first time a few turns prior.
So he would have won the game with that, right?
Did he not do it to keep the game going for content or is there another reason I failed to see preventing him from casting it that way while he was at 25 life?
I'm wondering the same thing. Crim did say he had a plan for that (and that he would have used it on Nezahal if Approach hadn't been the biggest threat)
Edit: I've now reached the end of the video, and Crim didn't use it on the Price of Progress so I don't know what he had (he only had 3 untapped lands)
That was bothering me so much, but looking back it was somewhat reasonable, even if I still woulda gone for it. Crim said he had it handled, and basically what would've happened if he cast it the first time he could it'd get Venser'd back to his hand. He had enough mana to try again but not uncounterable and then it'd probably be countered. That might have been the best result since it would take the heat off him, cause if he tried once and then saved it for the next turn he was dead to the board once everyone focused him. Not trying again the turn after was pretty bad though, he was so low he was basically dead already.

@@ScottyDoesKnowSo basically if Seth did not discard his "Stifle" and would have activated his "The One Ring's" ability first to draw out Richard's "Tishana's Tidebinder" then he could have cast "Approach of the Second Sun" uncounterable.
This would have caused Crim to cast his "Venser" but Seth could have countered it by using his "Stifle".
Therefore unless someone else had another counter Seth would have had the chance to win the game that turn if he kept "Stifle".
Everything would have depended on anyone else having another counter.
Is that right?
@@xyavdast5554 Ya I also thought it was kinda weird he pitched the stifle, that could've been the win though it could easily have been countered. In the end you gotta just go for it rather than sit there and slowly die

Perhaps it was a brutal experience for (some of) the players, but that was a really cool game! Love how everyone injected their own flavor into their control decks.

I have a Dragonlord Ojutai deck made of only cards I've played in standard except lands and a couple mana rocks. She is such a blast to play.
No one played a commander that made their own spells uncounterable. Was this a gentleman's agreement?

Loving the webcam games by the way. The games definitely move at a better pace than what MTGO allows with its outdated interface.

@@seanv42 Remand wouldn't work (it only exiles if the spell is actually counter) but the other three are good points.
Imo that's the best magic, interacting with your opponents. I'm curious to know how long was the unedited game.
Am I the only person who misses MTGO? Honestly thought it gave the channel some charm because it was the only channel that used it and honestly the random bugs and crashes are probably frustrating for the players but it’s a fun bit of chaos.
How did the one ring get destroyed? Did the ETB stifle remove indestructible?
Tbf Crim didn't actually *Clash on!* He managed to fool Richard though.
It would be interesting if for a season you don't have a ban list, but instead can only use one (not including basic lands) card once, so you can put sol ring in your deck, but once you do you can't make another deck with a sol ring for the rest of that season, etc.
I love this paper magic much more than mtgo
