The principles that make great websites:
    1. Choose a goal - Don't build a website because you think need one. Build a website because it accomplishes a goal for you.
    2. Be human - If you're not a large corporation don't pretend to be one. Own your smallness.
    3. Don't mess with navigation - Navigation is meant to be used. It's a tool to get around the website. So make navigation simple and conventional.
    4. People don't read websites, they scan websites - Visitors have short attention spans so write with that in mind. Edit text down to the bare minimum.
    5. Pictures are greater than words. - It's always better to show rather than tell.
    6. Whitespace is good. - It keeps things simple and clear.
    7. Typography is the secret behind beautiful websites. - Makes sense when you think about it: websites are mostly text after all. So a beautiful website typically has beautiful fonts.
    8. Color - A great way to express personality in a design.
    9. Avoid technical language. - Don't try to sound important by using technical language and jargon.
    10. Contact information. - Make contact info obvious.
    11. Tools - It doesn't matter what technology you use to build your website... Or at least it matters less than you might think.
    12. Perfect is the enemy of good. - Stop thinking you need to do more research before building your website.

Just found this channel like 1 hours ago and can't stop watching it. Thanks God that lead me to the most human creator of this subject 😂. Hope you make more bro, cz you deserve more... so more...🔥🔥🔥
"be human" and "speak humanly" is my favorite parts 😂, it's drove me to recalling what I've done before...

It was really nice to see how you upscale this post from the original four years ago. Confirms my comment on the original was spot on. I love what you’ve done as it’s you really are showing us this time.

Man, I love this video. Great, succinct point about the CTA reflecting the goal of the site (so much so that I'm updating my portfolio right now haha..)

I understood a lot of what you said about building websites. However, I'm looking for another site builder. Nearly a decade ago, I built my very first site on Webs.
Webs was supposed to shut down 3 years ago and my original site is still live. This past May, I settled on Webador. I really like the template I found for it because it's what I wanted.
My Webador site has a black and red template with a red Venetian Masquerade Mask.
Webador also has all the font styles I used on my Webs site. At the same time, it's not that user friendly when it comes to blogging like Webs and Blogger.
On Webador, I have to literally build every blog from scratch. That's like rebuilding my own website every time I want to blog, which is really disappointing after spending so much time on building it.
I'm a "New Adult" Psychological Horror/Crime-Thriller author and I purposely built my Webador site to reflect my personality and ominous tone(s) for my content.
With that being said, what "freemium" site builders are similar to Webs, Webador, and Blogger?
I tried a plethora of site builders throughout the last 4 years and none of them resonate with me and my content.
If I had a steady paying job, I would pay to use other site builders but that's not my current situation.

How come it looks "like that now" and not like in your video?!

I just started a business this month, and currently working on a website. Do you think in business your clients or potential clients or potential leads will take you less seriously when they find out that you're just one person, rather than saying we and you say I?

Your videos have been like a life raft to me. I suffer from "perfect being the enemy of the good" I've used your videos to design and build my website. Is it ridiculous to ask that you review it?

Am I the only one that skips the whole Webflow and Squarespace / Elementor stuff and jumps in the code? Man I come from development background, not design
