My grandmother live to almost 100 years old, her only health issue was high blood pressure, and it was not that high, her diet for the most part of her life is what she called "a poor man's diet", beans, rice, lentils and lots of veggies, she ate meat and poultry once in while mainly in social occasions where to not be rude to the cooks she would eat it to show her appreciation. She was very healthy and never really took time to consider whether she was getting all the nutrients that she needed. She would always advise us kids to eat the "colors of the rainbow", our greens, oranges, reds, purples, yellows and so forth, making sure there was variety in our plates. People try to complicate nutrition when it's not, that's why I love your channel Sr., because you make it so easy to eat healthy. Thank you very much! 😁
Whole food proteins. I eat tofu every morning. Beans most days too. That’s plenty for me. Plus plant foods. I’ve jogged for decades and unfortunately I’ve lost muscle mass. Now in my mid 50s and realize I’ll have to do resistance training on a regular basis to recapture some of what I lost.
Absolutely, I think resistance training would be a great addition to your approach and, in my opinion, supplementing with protein would be beneficial to maintain more muscle mass as you age.
Fucking FACTS! MAN!!! You remind me of me. Spit knowledge to all my friends and family and anybody else that will listen....BUT you are so articulate and accurate. Well said my friend. Vegan LOVE!!! 13 YEARS HERE
Another great video. I'm 63 and my life is all about trying to mitigate the damage I did for decades. I wonder what might have happened to my life if I had seen a video like this in 1979 when I was 18. Not worth spending much time on that thought lol, but we can work to get this in the hands of today's 18 year olds and help them to a healthier life with less illness and more mobility.
Well stated! When asked this question some WFPB leaders say you should respond with, ‘where do you get your fibre’ as this is the component missing in most diets these days…
Yes, I have heard that 35% of our diet should be fiber. Only way to get that is by eating whole food, plant-based. There's a great health series out entitled, "Made for Health", and in it Dr. Wes Youngberg says that in countries where there's less processed foods eaten, bowel movements are larger & hospitals smaller, and vice versa for countries where hospitals are larger & the SAD (standard American diet) is prevalent, bowel movements are much smaller, too. Go figure!!! FIBER-rich is the way to go.
You're a great educator!!! I like how you include tips for people at every stage of life and focus on mobility and health in the long run. 🎉 Love your recipes too!
Im grateful for this video. I'm over 60 and my mother 83 is on chemo. Higher protein is essential. Valid studies confirmed seniors need more protein. And mom cannot eat much quantity of food so it must be quality. Thank you for including higher needs. The ingredients in Compliment are so clean i look foward to getting it.

I take Complement vitamin supplements for my B12. Didn't know they make a protein powder too. Thanks for the info! Love your recipes and channel. I'm over an 60 lady and worried about loss of muscle mass, big believer in resistance training. 😃
Thank you for this video. Please can you do a 'What I Eat In A Day' video for your weekdays? Interested in what you consume as you have mentioned in your other videos that you eat differently on weekends.
I really like this message because it indicates that you have been appreciating my comment, so thank you! I plan to do videos for what I eat in a day, and what I eat on the weekends in the future. I will exclusively feature them on my App initially, but will also post them here eventually as well. Thanks for asking!!
Yes, it will be available on Android. It is scheduled to be released next month. It will have more than 300 recipes, as well as lots of other helpful features. It will give weekly meal plans and the ability to choose and custom create your favorite recipes into your own personal meal plans. It will be available for phone and desktop, and have the ability to print recipes and grocery lists for recipes you want to make. There will be videos of me walking you through my pantry, fridge, and freezer, and providing tips on how to stock your own. I will also show you all of my appliances and share all of the brands I recommend for foods and appliances. There will also be videos covering supplements, how to cook grains ( quinoa & millet ), tips for cooking oil-free, what are the healthiest foods, sleep, positive mindset, and several additional topics.I will also have lots of videos demonstrating my sensible approach to exercise and fitness that I describe as "consistency over intensity." Finally, there will be a calendar for people to schedule virtual cooking sessions with me for both couples and individuals. People can also schedule general Q&A sessions with me. So, it will be very comprehensive and offer lots of guidance information, and support, with new material added weekly. My hope is that lots of people will find the App helpful and empowering! It should be available in early January. Thanks for asking!!

Very interesting Javant. I'm 70 and part of my bone health regimen includes getting more protein. My main food sources are tempeh, lentils, beans, nuts. I'm going to check our the Complement protein powder, too. I think I would benefit from it.
Yes. This is the main reason I take protein powder everyday. I will be sharing lots of recipes incorporating my protein powder into different dishes. So many people have asked me about protein, so I want to make sure I am addressing ways to seamlessly increase intake using my recipes. Thanks for the comment!
Thank you, Javant! So informative. And I appreciate you letting us in on your preferred protein powder. I definitely need to check this out, since my doctor told me I need to get more protein (I'm apparently one of the few who actually have a deficiency). Thanks again! 😊🙏🏻👍🏻

Well, I knew there was reason why I liked your channel and subscribed. About a year and a half ago I was looking for a clean protein supplement and ran across Complement. As someone who's in his late fifties who is plant based and trains regular its been a great addition to my diet. Great video!
My concern is also getting enough iron(especially important for women),& the other b vitamins.can you please do a vid to address the best foods & supplements that provide these. This video was very clearly explained & most helpful.Thank you for great content.💚🙏🌺🌿
Hi, just got into your channel and love it. Just started being completely vegan since January 2024 after 1 year of working night shifts and eating crap foods and gaining alot of weight. Quit my job thank god and went back to school. i’m not a big eater and also don’t know what to eat vegan yet, lacking inspiration. I mostly juice with my juicer and drink 2 juices a day containing fruits and leafy greens and veggies and eat avocado toast everyday with hemps seeds, olive oil, fresh garlic, lime juice and curry powder hummm lol! I have overnight oatmeal with Silk almond milk with fruits on top and hemps seed. recently just add beans recipes to my diet like chili and pinto beans that are vegan and found on the internet. If not just rice with coconut oil inside and veggies or gluten free pasta with sauce. Since i’m in school full time and just started working out 4 times a week, i’ve been supplementing on proteins shakes with Sunwarrior brand and take 5g of creatine. I’m about 150 lbs and need to loose weights. I lost 8 lbs in a month since workout and eating healthy and getting more proteins, now 142 lbs. Been doing some research online and it’s says 1g of protein for every lbs. how i’m supposed to get 150g of protein in a day, to loose weight on a vegan diet when i eat little. I have Crohn disease so i don’t like to eat too much because my body doesn’t digest it like normal people and also some days i’m too busy to eat 3 meals. I have to take enzymes to help me digest maybe it’s all the proteins shakes i’m taking. I’m bloated all the time. I’m also very sensitive to alot of food. I don’t eat gluten and soy and very sensitive to caffeine also. Never drank a coffee in my entire life and i’m 43. Should i drink more amino acids drinks? Can you do a video with amino acids supplements if your not eating alot and what to use as pre-workout without caffeine, during and post workouts please…nobody is saying the same stuff on the internet and can’t find a solution. I can’t live on protein shakes to find 150 g. If i’m tired in the morning, i take 9g of MCT oil powder from Sunwarrior and it wakes me up but apparently can’t take another dose to wake me up before gym, if i’ve been in school all day and got gym after because they said it’s too much. I tried adding b12 supplements that has Methylcobalamin last week and got a really bad reaction….got panic attacks, high blood pressure ect…thank god, i had my panic attacks pills with me. i’m getting tested this week to see what was the allergic reaction was about the b12. So for now I can’t take nutritional yeast until i get tested for b12. I need a clean energy source before workouts and to stay awake when i got alot of homework to do. Please help and do more videos 🙏
very informative, thank you Javant. you are such a culinary and nutritional expert, giving us all a vast variety of foods with high nutritional value that you explain during the videos. good to know regarding the amino acids. one of my concerns is also calcium or simply bone health. other channels constantly go heavy on soy products, which you do not, thankfully, as at least personally it is too much for my gut to eat all the time.
You are so kind, thank you! Green leafy vegetables in general, and some in particular have lots of calcium, as do some nuts and seeds. Getting adequate vitamin D and K2 are also factors in how well you can utilize calcium.
@@healthyveganeating thank you for the sound advice. yes, we are eating more green leafy with higher calcium like kale and others. okay for nuts and seeds. blood work is good, calcium included, since going vegan -- actually it's much better. hemoglobin and iron are higher now than before, cholesterol is down, really happy about that! I am older so I take a supplement too. keep inventing & presenting Javant and we'll keep cooking!
Finally, this will be great info to send to all my detractors who constantly ask me where I get my protein or tell me I'm not getting enough protein 🙄. I love your channel, your great advice, and your delicious recipes! Thank you!
Love your video and your channel! Been vegan for a long time and 4 kids later healthy and happy 💪💗Thank you! They are in sports now so I was looking for adding more protein to their diet! Will order the powder and add to their daily smoothies 💪
I just started my journey on plant base diet a year ago to be exact it's an amazing one thanks so much for this video it's really helpful and informative you are highly appreciated, keep doing what you a doing you are making a difference in alot of lives ❤
I was wondering if you would consider making a video like this one where you talk about how to avoid the "less good" stuff in plants, like oxalates and agaritin? I have some concerns about these things and I'm sure I'm not the only one. I'm vegan since it's still better than animal products of course, but I can't help but worry a bit about plant toxins. Could you perhaps make a video where you discuss some of the more common plant toxins and how to prepare food to minimise those toxins or which food to consume more/less of?
Your skin always looks like its healthy with a shine or glow. I'm so dry and I want to put something on my skin so I glow like you. The problem is that I don't know what to use since I don't eat oil and avoid products that might absorb through the skin to harm my health. Do you know if oil applied to the skin is safe and wont enter my bloodstream and affect my cardio system? I've already had a heart attack and 3 stents. I started my healthy vegan journey last summer and I don't want to do anything to undo what I've been doing. I've seen great progress so far! I've been diabetic since I was 9 years old and on insulin 48 years. Since eating this way I've cut my insulin in half and where I couldn't walk to the mailbox without chest pain and shortness of breath a year ago, I now walk the treadmill 5 days a week a half hour at 2.6 mph currently and improving everyday. I've lost 35 lbs. too. I just found you about 2 weeks ago and I am about to try some of your recipes today after I picked up some ingredients yesterday. I'll probably do bacon, veggie ground, mayo, chicken with cherry sauce and some kind of dessert today! I love your style and content. Thank you for what you do. You are helping me!
I make my own skin moisturizer. I absolutely love that you are improving your insulin and stamina situations. I too walk on my treadmill at the start of each day and it's great exercise. So, please keep doing what you are doing and improving as you are able. The gift of health is the most valuable gift that you can give you. I'm so happy to hear that my recipes are helping and I am rooting for you!!

I surely appreciate your ability to be genuinely organic in your approach as you understanding tgat we are all indifferent stages toward better HV health….looking good……so proud of you….🫶🏾🙏🏾🫅🏾
Yes, I came up on that theory… rice and beans for complete protein! I found out later that was far from the truth! Thank you for speaking on this! You always hit the mark! 🥰
I'm a new subscriber to your channel. Someone recommended it in the @DrBobbyPrice group detox chat. I shared your channel with my sister and she immediately fell in love with your recipes. Now I look forward to learning about your healthy vegan food choices/recipes and healthy living promotion too. September 19, 2024 ❤🖤💚
My experience has been that the fresh berries taste better. I think this is because they are bigger, juicer, and the texture is fuller tasting. Wild blueberries are really small, particularly when you bought frozen. Wild blueberries are even healthier than fresh, but the fresh are still plenty healthy also.
Thank you so much for this video. I'm in my 60s and on my second attempt to go vegan. I need all of the knowledge and recipes I can get. I love your channel.
I am a 70 yr old woman. I track my calories, nutrients, and exchanges in a spreadsheet I designed with a database I compiled. I don't know how I could get down to that RDA for protein. For example, I plan for three exchanges each of legumes and grain per day. Since I follow a whole-plant based diet, everything comes from plant sources. Typically, according to my spreadsheet, I get between 63 and 78 grams of protein.
Could you do a video on how you make sure you get the rda of calcium? This is what I worry about the most. Perhaps show exactly what you eat in a day. On top of being gluten and dairy free, I also need to stay away from soy and a couple of other food. I also worry about oxalates. Thankyou for all the epic recipes you share.
Everything you mentioned are things you should be considering, so great questions. I will be making videos for my Healthy Vegan App thoroughly discussing soy and calcium. I don't eat processed soy either, although I do eat organic whole soybeans. I made a soy free tofu and will attach the video to the end of this message. Regarding calcium, keep in mind that there is significant calcium in green leafy vegetables, particularly collards and spinach. Since you are concerned with oxalates, spinach would not be a good choice, though. There is also decent calcium in nuts and seeds, and sesame seeds in particular has high amounts. I have already added a video to my App showing what I eat in day.👌🏾 Here is the link for the soy free tofu : th-cam.com/video/B252-cKRZ6M/w-d-xo.html
@healthyveganeating thanks so much for your detailed reply. Appreciate it. I'll check out sesame seeds, I had forgotten about them. And will look into your soy free tofu recipe. Thanks!
You literally are the best! Thank you for giving the correct protein measurements needed as so many say it’s Per pounds and don’t say kilograms and they give the .8 to 1.1 per pound, which is totally incorrect. It makes me crazy! Ha ha.
Thank you. I am planning a book , but it will be awhile. My Healthy Vegan Meal Plan & Lifestyle App will have more than 300 recipes, as well as lots of other helpful features. It should be available at the end of March.
Is the cheese sauce recipe on a video somewhere? Just saw the short and can't see a recipe. Thank you! Going to make the galette recipe for V Day tomorrow!
Can you do a “what I eat on a day” video to maintain your weight? Do you have a consistent eating schedule? Do you snack? I eat like you but lost way to much weight and can’t get it back, so I’m interested in what you do. Thanks!
I typically suggest nuts and avocados as healthy, high fat and calorie foods to put on weight. I eat a moderate amount of nuts everyday, but would eat more, along with avocados for weight gain. I will do a video of what I eat in a day and include it in my Meal Plan & Lifestyle App.
@@healthyveganeating salute to you. Question: do you have a vegan shopping list? Been vegan for 3 yrs and I’m making 2024 the year I purchase less store brought vegan meats and make them for home (less salt). Suggestions.
I don't have a specific shopping list that I give to people, I try to create a variety of different dishes and let people choose what appeals to them, then purchase those ingredients. I'll have a series of videos on my App called, Shopping With Javant, where I show what I look for when buying certain grocery items.
Informative;thank you. Will you be showing ways to use the powder, such as protein shakes. I have this protein powder. I am hoping to find palatable ways to make smoothies 🎉
I’m not on no vegan diet but would this be recommended on weight loss? I currently have stopped taking whey due to it causing acne problems even tho it’s helped tremendously these few months shred down

This is amazing. Seriously, all of your videos are incredible and help reach so many people!! Keep up the amazing work :)
Thank you so much for sharing your appreciation!
very informative, thank you Javant. you are such a culinary and nutritional expert, giving us all a vast variety of foods with high nutritional value that you explain during the videos. good to know regarding the amino acids. one of my concerns is also calcium or simply bone health. other channels constantly go heavy on soy products, which you do not, thankfully, as at least personally it is too much for my gut to eat all the time.
Wow! Thanks so much. So clear and so needed!!
Glad it was helpful!

Finally, this will be great info to send to all my detractors who constantly ask me where I get my protein or tell me I'm not getting enough protein 🙄. I love your channel, your great advice, and your delicious recipes! Thank you!
I love this message! Thank you for watching and appreciating!
Love your video and your channel! Been vegan for a long time and 4 kids later healthy and happy 💪💗Thank you! They are in sports now so I was looking for adding more protein to their diet! Will order the powder and add to their daily smoothies 💪
Thank you for watching!
So informative!! Thank you 😊
Glad it was helpful!
@@healthyveganeating I was also wondering what vanilla you use? I so appreciate that the products you get are always clean
I prefer organic vanilla bean powder, but use extract in my videos because that's what most people are familiar with.
@@healthyveganeating thank you so much for letting me know. You are so generous and kind with your knowledge 😁
Anytime!
I’m not a vegan but I’m researching to learn healthier food choices. This was very informative! Thank you!

I just started my journey on plant base diet a year ago to be exact it's an amazing one thanks so much for this video it's really helpful and informative you are highly appreciated, keep doing what you a doing you are making a difference in alot of lives ❤
So glad you find it valuable on your plant-based journey. Thank you so much for appreciating!
Thank you for the great suggestion! I will definitely add that to the to-do list.
Great video. Can you make one on your exercise routines. And other stuff you do to stay healthy.
Yes! 👌🏾 In fact, I’ve been putting it together for about a year now … My HV Support App
It will be available later this month 🙂
Fantastic video! Such great info. Easily understood with your wonder explanations.

Thanks for sharing and helping us all to try and live a more healthier and clean life.. ?.. Do you have a cookbook out yet?
Not yet, but I will eventually. Thanks for appreciating my efforts!
Thank you for such an informative protein presentation. I respect your recommendation and will check it out.

Yes, I came up on that theory… rice and beans for complete protein! I found out later that was far from the truth! Thank you for speaking on this! You always hit the mark! 🥰
You're welcome!
I love that! Thank you and your sister for appreciating my content 🙏🏾
Thank you so much for this!! Do you trust the protein powder heavy metal amounts in the complement protein you use? I am thinking of trying it.
They actually test below the the Prop 65 limits, so I am very comfortable with using it 👌🏾
Wow! I love your recipes and how well you explain everything. Do "wild" blueberries have a different taste than the fresh ones?
My experience has been that the fresh berries taste better. I think this is because they are bigger, juicer, and the texture is fuller tasting. Wild blueberries are really small, particularly when you bought frozen. Wild blueberries are even healthier than fresh, but the fresh are still plenty healthy also.
Excellent video. I enjoy all of your videos and love your recipes. Great delivery and great content. Thank you!
Thanks so much!
Great information!

Thank you so much for this video. I'm in my 60s and on my second attempt to go vegan. I need all of the knowledge and recipes I can get. I love your channel.
You're welcome, and thank you for watching. You got this!
Thank you for sharing!!!
You are so welcome!
Thanks for sharing the protein powder. My sister and I have been shopping for cleaner protein powder. 😊❤
My pleasure, I've been very happy with it, that's why I decided to partner with this company.
It's great that you're on top of your situation.
I will be making videos for my
Healthy Vegan App thoroughly discussing soy and calcium. I have already added a video to my App showing what I eat in day.👌🏾
Here is the link for the soy free tofu : th-cam.com/video/B252-cKRZ6M/w-d-xo.html
@healthyveganeating thanks so much for your detailed reply. Appreciate it. I'll check out sesame seeds, I had forgotten about them. And will look into your soy free tofu recipe. Thanks!
Sure, you're welcome
Thanks for sharing your delicious meals ❤❤ very helpful 😊
You are so welcome!
You literally are the best! Thank you for giving the correct protein measurements needed as so many say it’s Per pounds and don’t say kilograms and they give the .8 to 1.1 per pound, which is totally incorrect. It makes me crazy! Ha ha.
Thank you for appreciating! 🙂
You are amazing 😻 I’m so glad that I found your channel
Thank you so much!!
Thanks
1. I love your cooking ideas and I like watching how you make your meals. Just curious, do you have a cookbook? Where can I find your

Great vid… glad you made it. Knowing there a protein vegan clean powder is good to know.
It really is!
@healthyveganeating your app is up and running, or are you talking about your various of informative reels?
@@healthyveganeating is it in the Apple App store?

I’m not on no vegan diet but would this be recommended on weight loss? I currently have stopped taking whey due to it causing acne problems even tho it’s helped tremendously these few months shred down
The daily suggested serving size of three tablespoons has only 85 calories 👌🏾
Thanks Javant🎉
