    I’m going to be a mom, just found out I am pregnant and this is my second pregnancy but the last one ended due to a spontaneous miscarriage. I’m very nervous but I have my husband helping me feel better and this video helped me SO much with the anxiety and fear I feel right now. I’m around 2 months probably but I’ll find out for sure tomorrow. Thank you for this video :)

    Love this video! The one constant with babies is change! Just when you think you have everything sorted, they change again. The 4-month sleep regression is real and the 2 hourly wake up (sometimes every hour) can be so so hard. Thanks so much for sharing your insight and honest thoughts on what parents can expect!

    I swaddled my first, but I didn't swaddle my second. That Moro reflex is there for a reason! So with my second child, after the first few weeks, she slept much deeper than my son did at that age. Because the Moro reflex is so good for their brains. It helps them distinguish between "safe" sounds and "dangerous" sounds.

    Seeing a lot of people in the comment section saying pregnancy and motherhood made them anxious, you've got nothing to fear but fear itself, anxiety and neurosis are the very worst enemies of a mother, whenever you feel unsettled just think about your baby, they need you to be a chill mum, relax for their sake and for yourself.

Lol anyways I just wanted to ask you if you would either list the apps you are using and when you make another video that mentions an application you have for the iPhone or android phone that way everyone will know what the app name is and for us to be able to download them for ourselves. Thanks! Much appreciated and congrats on your lil girl sage is soo cute and i love her name. super insightful!! Question- did you have sage take naps in a dark quiet room alone with a baby monitor when she was a newborn? or at what point did that start? I'm about to be a mom in a couple months...and terrified about SIDS and want baby to be with me at all times...but curious about other mommas experiences...

    • @kimberlylois4855
      @kimberlylois4855 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hilda - it’s totally normal and safe for you to hold or wear your newborn for naps. No need for them to sleep in a separate room. And it’s also totally normal to keep baby with you at all times!! A lot of modern sleep programs recommend strict sleep schedules for infants and say that “sleep training” your baby is the only way to get them to sleep. I’d recommend checking out Possums & Co sleep resource and the Beyond Sleep Training Facebook group. They offer incredible support! 💕

      My first newborn took her naps on me mostly, having her sleep anywhere alone was not possible at all the first 6 months. Even putting her down was not possible most of the time. So it completely depends on your baby. But babies generally can totally sleep in a bassinet or whatever else you choose to put them in during the day even if it's not a dark quiet room. I sometimes managed to put my baby down (the second baby more easily than the first who has high-needs) after she fell asleep on me and then put her next to me in the same room to nap, that really helps to feel calmer because you see them breathe etc. I could not have put my baby alone in another room before 6 months anyway, I would have been worried too. Plus it's good for babies to distinguish day from night and you can totally hoover around them or cook while they are napping next to you for example. Wishing you all the best and just listen to your gut, it will all be fine.🥰 If you want to keep your baby near you that's always a good choice. (Not compulsory, but never wrong for sure.)

    Sleep regression is a hell and it is harder than newborn stage. I learned do not nurse baby every time they wake up. It's a huge mistake a lot of breastfeeding moms make. At 4 months, baby needs maximum 1 nurse at night, other times they just have to sooth themselves and continue to sleep. That's why sleep training is important. Every baby needs some sort of sleep training.

      See it’s interesting. From a psychological perspective one might say that allowing your baby to “self soothe” is a mistake. Since babies don’t actually self soothe they just learn to understand that no one is going to help them when they need it and give up trying. Wording is important and every mom is different so since you’re not an expert it’s best to keep opinions to yourself.
