    I had same issue as many others. I followed instructions, exported from FontSquirrel as SVG file but it saved the font file needed in HTML (MicroSoftEdge in my case). Properties showed it as an .svg file but TinkerCad still would not accept it. I then renamed it with an .svg extension and it finally loaded! It appeared in the TinkerCad file picture box with two .svg extensions....nevertheless it worked!

    Hi Jeff. Great video..thanks for the tips! I'm having an issue though and wondering if you know what I'm doing wrong? I've followed your instructions however I can't seem to get Font Squirrel to download as svg even though svg is the only thing one checked in Font Format. It downloads but gives me 2 html docs, a style sheet, a text doc and a folder with 2 more style sheets. I've tried 2 different fonts so far with same results. Any suggestions?

      So one of your html files should be the .svg file mine comes up as a Firefox html document and a Microsoft edge html document. It the Microsoft document on mine thats the svg file. If your on windows right click on properties its should list as a svg.if not try to rename it.

      Did you select 'Expert' and select 'SVG'? That was the step I first missed?

    Please explain how to get fonts from my font manager software into Tinkercad. Is it possible to directly load fonts from a font manager? or does the font file have to be converted to import SVG? How is that done? Once in Tinkercad, I want to make 3D font from my licenced $$$ font, then "place/export" the Tinkercad 3D version into vector software & continue with layout design.

    Thank you for your time and effort. just wondering is there any way we can make led letter boxes ? I want to put some led strips back of these letter so that i can use it as glow sign.

    • @jeffs3dcorner
      @jeffs3dcorner  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I guess with zero infill and a printer that has good bridging. It could be done. Or print upside down and split the model so the bottom is printed and print the top half upside down with no infill and glue together after you install the leds. Probably need transparent filament.

      you would probably design the lettering with a void inside it. Create the word you want then rotate the lettering face down, then duplicate the word. Take the dup and adjust dimensions until it is smaller by enough that it will fit well into/inside the existing solid lettering, change the dup to a hole instead of a solid. Align both using the alignment tool, then sit the hole version inside the solid version and group to cut out the letting on the inside. Make sure your hole version is slightly taller than the solid lettering and sticks out so it completely cuts out the back of the solid lettering.

    You can use a different software to write the name, then close the letters together then import as svg
