      @@Pattys1967 it would be really great if you had anything else to do than be miserable in the comments on TH-cam. You can see her step by step making the blanket and she clearly explains how she does it. You can get the idea of how the finished product would look off of what she worked on in the video, also nothing hand made will be perfect. I don’t understand the reason for such a nasty comment. Yes it would be nice if she would hold the blanket up when she’s finished but honestly how many other tutorials do? Very few that I’ve seen. I tried this and it actually took me 10 hours (2 days) to complete. I can’t imagine someone being able to finish this in an hour and I’m a fast Crochetier. The throw came out beautifully at 64x46 inches. Thank you for this tutorial bc even though it took me longer, I still had a whole finished piece in 2 days which is awesome 👏🏽

    Hi! I recently was gifted some normal size 4 yarn by a friend who needed to move back home and I don’t have a crochet hook. I was looking on Pinterest for hand crocheting patterns but I don’t really understand the written patterns so I searched for it here and found you.
    Although I was only using size 4 yarn, and I didn’t double up or anything, watching this video made it SUPER easy to follow along because your movements were so much bigger than mine. I did a 15x16 square and think I’m going to try using it as a wash cloth for my kids in the bath or something.
    Obviously it will be easier to crochet when I’ve bought a hook but I’m pretty proud of what I’ve done by following this video.
    Thank you so much!!!

      Have been trying to rewatch this many times. My edges keep sloping, I've had to take my blanket apart 4 times 😞😞 I've been working on it for 7 days. Any tips on how to not have a sloped edge would be great! Basically it's like every row I do is one stitch shorter than the one before but I have nothing else to grab on to .. ???

    I've followed her for years and she has helped me a lot! She helps keep me motivated and push through the times that I wanna slow down or stop. I appreciate the fact that she also struggles during her workouts and doesn't edit out when she takes a break. But after every 5 second break she takes she's right back to finishing the set

    Maggie YOU mam are simply the BEST teacher for THIS. You explain everything so calmly and easily to comprehend for the newbies like myself... I'm happy to have subscribed and am making one today... Getting my yarns out now and keeping this video by my side lol. Now I'll try THIS first bc the arm knitting one appears that I'm gonna need to call the fire department to help me unravel MYSELF before I cut my circulation off and there's a chance they'd think I tried to fake my own kidnapping bc THAT would MY luck one day whenever I'm a master finger knitter, I'll be sure to try the arm knitting. I'll be sure to invite a friend over to learn with me so we're able to save each other and set ourselves free if need be. I love your channel and if you can teach a simple way to make a crochet hand bag the same way and/or a tank or swimsuit cover up to match the bag that would be awesome. Been wanting a crochet bag for a while but rather make it than buy it. Thanks AGAIN for your great and easy to follow steps. I'm so thrilled I found your channel. I have to say: knots will unravel! My first big crochet blanket was a granny square and as tight as those knots were they did come out after washing. If you're tempted to knot, then at least weave in ends a little as well. And don't clip right at the edge of the knot. I'd hate for anyone else to feel the despair I did.
    So glad I saw this though. I know of arm and finger knitting but had never considered finger crochet. This might just be perfect for my Gramma whose hands can't comfortably grip a hook anymore. I'm hoping this clear easy video she can follow along when I'm not there to work on it with her.

    • @cazcann4188
      @cazcann4188 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have had to modify the way I do the reef knot as it can slip out, whereas a granny knot shouldn’t come undone. You could add an extra twist perhaps to the second half of the reef knot to make it stay better, but I also like to have some ends to weave in as I go.

    • @jerryleroy9187
      @jerryleroy9187 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      After I do my weaving and knots, I also put a couple of knots in the working yarn right after the initial knot. That way if it wants to unravel it has a hard time getting through the initial knot. Like making beads in the yarn so to speak. I leave it hang about an inch or so and call it my signature yarn tail. LOL. I have never had anything unravel after I started doing this. Good luck and take care. Happy crocheting everyone!

    I watched this and ran to order (and curbside pickup) yarn yesterday and started it... I’ve been making hand knitted chunky blankets in a little over an hour for about a year now, so I thought how hard could this be?? Well, 6 hours in I was only done with 2 sets of skeins when I noticed the sides moving inward. 😫😫 I pulled it apart and restarted 5-6 different times and then finally started getting the hang of it, lol... After 7 hours, I put it away to give my back a break and will start back up today and hopefully finish it. I can’t wait because I’m making it in fall colors using the Lion Brand WE T&Q colors in Fisherman, Spice & Mustard. It’s gorgeous, thick and heavy already! I can’t wait til it’s done so I can cozy up under it and binge Doctor Who... Fantastic tutorial, btw!! So glad I found it!
