    I love the color possibilities with this method. My mom is a total yarn hoarder and I would be more then happy to get rid of em 6 skeins at a time. 😌

    Dimensions included:
    I just completed the blanket in about 3 hours start to finish. I used a bulky yarn, No.6 - Bernat baby blanket yarn, 5 skeins.
    With casting on18 stitches, the blanket is only about 22 inches wide when I laid it flat after knitting. You can pull it and stretch it wider though. If I make another, I would cast on 20 or 22. I like my blankets big and snuggly. My finished blanket was about 6 feet long. It would obviously be shorter if I cast on more stitches. Again, this whole thing stretches out. The finished project is absolutely gorgeous. It does have a right side and a wrong side. It honestly doesn’t matter as both sides are lovely.

    Why did I end up here? I dont know.
    Am I going to spend all my money on yarn to try this? YES. Yes. I. Am.

    So much better than the late yarn blankets! those are usually made with roving of acrylic/wool and it sheds and shreds apart as soon as its in use, the way creates a sturdy blanket for 1/6th of the price!

      I think if you have an empty cardboard wrapping paper roll or an empty paper towel roll you could slip it inside your project to hold your place. Oooooh, even better you could slip it onto a paper towel holder that sits on the counter and that way it wouldn't slip off.

    Hi, fantastic instructional video. I especially love the look of simultaneously using multiple skeins. I've done it with finger crocheting, and looking forward to trying it with arm knitting. Could you please give the final dimensions of the blanket and how many skeins, or more specifically yards (since skeins may vary in their yard length), you used to complete a blanket of those dimensions. Thank you!

    • @ayeshamahomed379

    • @odd_outcast8003
      @odd_outcast8003 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It depends on the brand you use. If it’s fluffier it will be warmer and if it’s thinner you can just use more yarn. It is wayyy cheaper if you find the yarn on clearance.

    I am looking to make a finger knitting blanket and I can only spend 10 dollars and at the store I am going to, it only has normal wool so this was so helpful as all the other tutorials I have seen use thicker yarn. So I am going to go purchase it now

    Me and my son sat down on our giant bean bags and started with the simple yarn we have for practice and it’s so relaxing and when we all done practicing the we will order our yard that you use here. Am not sure if you share how to how to get the off if needs to but I thought to use a stick that I collected for Macramé project and used it as a arm and, when I come back I can continue my work putting my hoops on my arm. My hoops ended on the stick on my right when I continue my work I would start to put my hoops on my left arm.

  • @spookyhamilton2732
    @spookyhamilton2732 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    This is an awesome video! I’m watching this while doing something else so I might’ve missed this.. but can you use yarn other than anti-pilling? I want to make a blanket in quarantine but the yarn can get pretty expensive. The dollar store sells yarn (not anti-pilling) and even though it wouldn’t be the best quality, it would probably be around $12 as opposed to $50. Thanks for the great video!

    Absolutely beautiful and I so very enjoyed it, thank you. What is your definition of thick yarn? To me thin yarn is a 3, 4, or maybe even a 5. #6 yarn is very thick when looming. Would you please give some guidelines - if I have a lot of 4 or 5 yarn left, how many strands should I use? Thank you for your time and sharing your experience. DJ
