If you like Asian food, do try Indo-Chinese cuisine. Lots of vegan options! -- veg momos, gobi manchurian, hakka noodles, schezwan veggies, crispy chili babycorn, pepper mushroom, hot and sour soup . . . are some of my favorites dishes.

I made this and it turned out excellent!! It's my favorite stir fry go to recipe, and part of my meal rotation. I tweaked the sauce by adding a tablespoon of sesame tahini. It thickens the sauce and allows everything to be covered. Adds a nutty taste to the sauce also. With or without sesame tahini is good. Although for me I like the thickening of the sauce so every bite the sauce sticks to the veggies. Goes great with jasmine rice.

Are you guys choosing not to be around anyone else but vegans? Does someone have to fully subscribe to your way of life for them to be part of your life? I’m genuinely curious, not trying to start anything. I’m moving towards a vegetarian diet and have been friends with vegetarians and vegans throughout my life and we just respected each other’s boundaries. I’m trying to learn as much as I can as I move away from meat eating.

I just made and ate this stir fry. It was like Heaven! I never heard of smoked tofu before and it was worth my trip to an Asian market to find it. Little by little I’m finding myself more comfortable in the Asian market. I divide the project into 3 parts: 1) searching out the ingredients a day or 2 before. 2) cutting the veggies & preparing the sauce in the morning and 3) stir frying in the evening. Voila! A meal fit for a king/queen! Thanks, again, Wil !!!

I’m learning little by little to make vegan meals. I’m not used to the process of buying fresh vegetables and preparing them. I usually buy frozen vegetables because I have wasted so many fresh ones. I’m determined to change my diet and prepare healthier meals. Most of the recipes I’ve been saving are too large amounts for just me so I’m learning to reduce the recipes.

Came across this recipe and several others in your line up and it has been a success like 3-4 times. That is how many variables i was able to come out of all this. My husband is basically a meat and potatoes man and i have been incorporating more of a vegetarian feel into the mix and he loves it. The recipes are very simple and i enjoy going to the international markets in my community to buy what is needed and then some to have for the next two days. Thank you for sharing ❤.

Really good basic stir fry recipe, a reminder that you don't need masses of ingredients. However, it is all in the sauce. This combination is new to me so a must try. I thicken with arrowroot, cornstarch or potato starch. This is simpler and less messy.

Instead of rice, I mixed in udon noodles. It was just amazing. Will try it as made in the video next time, but boy am I ever leaning to make great sauces from you. Thank you so much!

i was looking for a stir fry recipe for this week's meal prep. i used this one. i had some leftover smoked tofu but i had to throw it out yesterday because it spoiled, so i used plain tofu. i was able to make four meals, but i don't think it will be filling enough, so i am rehydrating dehydrated shiitake mushrooms that i plan to braise later, as i didn't have fresh on hand. i paired this with brown rice that i cooked in my instant pot. as a vegan, i love your recipes! ✌🏿

Hey there! I just wanted to say that your recipes have been a lifesaver for me on my vegan journey. I really appreciate all the work you put into making vegan cooking easier and more accessible.
But I gotta admit, sometimes I feel like I need to go on an epic quest just to find some of the ingredients in your recipes! Like, who knew that getting some of those special spices would require a trip to the Himalayan Mountains?! (laughs)
Anyway, I just wanted to mention that I don't have any smoked tofu on hand for one of your recipes. But I'm determined to make it work, even if it means getting creative with some substitutions. Thank you again for all your hard work and amazing recipes!

🏔️😱 I’d enjoy seeing the photos from that trip 🤭 Most recipes work to make substitutions - for this recipe the smoked tofu adds a bit extra, however, reg extra firm tofu works equally as well

@@YEUNGMANCOOKINGa little smoked paprika when using plain tofu could give a similar outcome, perhaps. 🤔

I would try using tempeh or a baked pre-seasoned tofu as an alternative. They might not have that same smokey flavor, but the texture would be similarly firm and there wouldn't be any flavor missing. I find them in most grocery stores

Perfect dish for a cold and rainy Sunday afternoon. The colors of the dish make up for the grey gloom outside.
