As a fellow Portland inhabitant I am grateful for the tour. When people complain about what a mess Portland is, they should look at this.
I agree. This is a wonderful addition to Portland’s legacy. Thank you so much for watching. Have a wonderful day.😊
Like a pack of razor blades, if the first (arrival) and last (departure) are good maybe you'll forget all the bad blades in between (the city of Portland)
@@pdxyyz4327- Most people who make comments like this learned everything they know about Portland from Fox News.
@@cacogenicist Might want to take hint as to my relationship with Portland from my account name. How about learning everything from living in and around Portland for 20 years. Watching a vibrant city go through 100 nights of riots, watching elected officials enable homeless addicts take over the city while ignoring the needs of the homeless with mental health issues. Watching the majority demand the defunding of the police and then whine about the uptick in crime. I know plenty about Portland from witnessing it.
It makes me happy to know that we can still build big beautiful things in this country.
Amen brother!!
This is so great for our city! I cannot wait to take a flight. ✈️ ❤
I agree. It’s going to be a wonderful feather in Portland’s cap with this new airport. And they’re still improving it over the next few years, which is even better. Thank you for the comment. Have a good one.😄
Well done, sir. Your crew access gave us a much better look than the local media has been able to show. Safe travels!
Thank you so much. I appreciate you saying that.
I hope it was entertaining and informative. Thanks for watching. Have a wonderful evening. 😁
Thanks again for the interview and welcome to the new PDX
Sam, thank you so much for your interview and for all the interesting facts about the new terminal. It was great meeting you and hanging out with you that morning. Hope to run into you again in the future. Until then take care.😃
Fantastic! Portland is ready for the future.
For sure!
They are certainly on their way!
Thanks for watching. 😊
wow, love the wood and openness, and those bench seats are great ! Be very proud PDX !
Yes, be very proud indeed PDX.
It is honestly a wonderful place to just hang out and grab a beer. Or a slice of pizza. Hope you get to experience it yourself in person soon. Thanks so much for the comment and for watching. Take care. 😀
Great video VF! Look forward to my next stop in PDX!
That’s great. Come early and enjoy food and drink. 🍺 😀
Impressive walk through. Thank you for this.
On the contrary, thank you for watching. See you soon.😊
Considering the relatively small size for an international airport, the ease of getting in and out of the place, the pretty damn spiffy new renovations, the very clean and modern bathrooms, the high quality food options -- and better coffee than 98% of airports in the world -- PDX might be the most pleasant international airport in the States now.
I think it will definitely be the case once they're fully done with the place.
Very good points. I feel the same way. Once phase 2 is complete we will see how things look. I know right now they are still in the process of opening shops and more restaurants. So hopefully that will happen by the end of the year.
Thanks so much for the comment and for watching. Take care.😃
Wow! Great to see this alongside the media coverage! Thank you for making this video!
My pleasure. Thank you so much for watching it and for your comment. Hope you’re well.😃
I was surprised seeing this for the first time when I got back from California yesterday.
It is a really nice site to see. Lots of shops and more restaurants coming. They really are making it feel like a place that you can hang out and relax. Thanks for watching and subscribing. Have a great night.😀
It’s amazing! I love this airport.
Yep, I can’t wait to see what phase 2 will bring. Thanks for the comment and have a great day.😊
Nice tour! Thank you for posting!!
Thanks so much for watching! 😀
Looks so great now headed to Vegas in October can’t wait to see it in person
I’m sure you’ll love it. Have a safe flight! 😊
Yes sir!!!! I love my home Airport sm!! went there that day!!
Yep. And now it’s so much better. It’s gorgeous and I’m sure it will be the envy of many other airports as soon as they see it in full swing. Hope you’re well.😃
Wow! New terminal looks so beautiful! Thanks so much for sharing this with me. One day I can visit PDX during the same day trips. I am looking forward to it. Thank you for your time.
Anytime Scotty. Thanks so much for watching and for your comment.
It is pretty impressive when you’re standing in the middle of it all. Hopefully you’ll see it for yourself soon. Have a wonderful evening. Thanks again.😄
@@valenciaflyerhey! How do you know who I am?? Where did you find me??
What a beautiful renovation/airport!! I've never been there before but that really looks so beautiful! Thank you for sharing!!! Safe travels ✈️
Hey there, Michelle. Hope you’re doing great. Yes the PDX airport is looking pretty spectacular. Lots of wood and the smell is amazing right now. Hopefully it holds that smell. Ha ha. Hope you’re doing well. 😊
Fantastic video ❤
Thank you!! So kind of you! 😁
Your new intro is 🔥! wow what a beautiful transformation. Can’t wait for my next PDX layover to soak it in. Thanks vf for sharing
Thank you so much. I like adapting the intro as time goes on with new trips.
Yes, you should check out PDX when you can. There’s a lot to take in. Hope you’re well.😃
Nice walkthrough. Before the construction, there was a terminal ABC - DE back course which has been closed during construction. It's great to have the back course back in operation.
Yeah, I have not known PDX to not have those sections closed off. So when they opened them, I was impressed at how much space there was. I went through there again today and they are still adding things as they go along. It’s gonna end up pretty spectacular. Thanks for watching.😃
Thanks so much for the intro. I have a flight from PDX next week. Can’t wait to see it for myself!
It’s my pleasure. There’s a lot to explore and I’m sure more will come in as time goes on. But at least the layout will remain the same. Thank you again for stopping by. Take care.😀
Thank you for sharing!
My pleasure. Thank you so much for watching. I appreciate you tuning into the channel. Have a wonderful night.😄
Glorious!
I travel a lot through PDX and have gotten used to the construction, detours and so forth. Next trip is next week and really looking forward to seeing this!! Very proud of PDX and the positive rep is gives Portland. Now even better! Keep Making these great videos! What camera are you using?
Thank you so much for the comment. I appreciate that.
Once you see the terminal, I’m sure you’ll be happy you stopped by.
I use several cameras for my channel, but this one was entirely shot on my iPhone 15 Pro Max.
Thanks for watching!😁
Beautiful! Great woodwork.
Yes, beautiful, modern and elegant.
Thank you for the tour! It looks amazing! Fun fact, the Delta luggage conveyor belt was turned off last month in preparation. You had to take your luggage near united after seeing the ticket agent. I'm guessing it was stuff behind the scenes/underground getting ready for yesterday.
That does make sense. When I shot this video, they were transporting things from the old counters to the inside. It’s going to be interesting to see how fast they break down the old ticket counters to leave more space. Thanks for the comment and for watching. Have a great day.😃
@@valenciaflyer I’m curious about that two. I wonder if tearing those out is part of phase 2 when they make the new terminal exits. It’s great to have the B/C-D/E connector again. I laughed when I saw the pet relief sign back there as I think that’s where it roughly was before construction. Happy Flying!
Thanks for the tour.
Of course. Thank you for the comment and for watching and subscribing. I really appreciate you. Have a great day.😃
Used to live in Portland, they were just starting the contraction when I move to Tucson in June 2019. Looks amazing! Thanks for sharing this.
My pleasure. I got there in 2020 so I never saw what it looked like before that. But it’s looking pretty beautiful now.
Hope you’re well. Thanks for watching and subscribing.😊
Very pretty
I agree. The wood treatment they have given it certainly makes it classy yet modern. Can’t wait to see the new additions soon. Have a great day.😀
Very nice tour! Thank you! I have been watching the construction annually for the past few years. Will be flying out in a couple months. Can't wait to see it open!
That’s great. It is a very nice thing to experience. Very open feeling. I hope you enjoy it once you see it. Thanks for the comment and for watching.😊
THIS IS MY AIRPORT AND I JUST BOOKED TICKETS
That’s great. Where are you going?
You’re gonna love it once you get there. I would come a little early so that you can walk around and explore all the features the new terminal has to offer.
Have a safe flight.😁
Unique, yes, but I am seeing a lot of inspiration from Madrid Barajas airport, with some influence from Madrid's Atocha train station. Also reminds me of the laminated wood structures in Valencia and Sevilla. Somebody on that design team has spent time in Spain!
Thanks so much for this very helpful video. Much better than what the local news showed. We are really excited to see this when we fly out in a few weeks!
I appreciate you saying so. I was lucky to be there at the right time to get it on tape. Lol.
Thanks for the watch. Have a good one! 😁
Amazing, thanks for the phase 1 reveal and the inside info. You’re looking great and as always full of energy, passion and enthusiasm. Take care and stay safe.
Beautiful new terminal so excited to see it 🎉
Hey there, David. Thank you so much for saying so. It was a tiring morning for sure. Ha ha.
The new PDX airport is looking amazing. Hope you get a chance to see it. Yourself soon. Hope you’re well. Talk soon.😁
Question. Why is Portland Oregon getting “the best airport in the world?”
You’ll find out
Lol. Yes they will. Ha ha.
Thanks for watching. See you soon. 😃
I’m also 20 minutes away from PDX. I’m NE 33rd n Wilshire Park 🍻
That’s great. Maybe one day you can swing by the airport and look around and possibly even have lunch if you’re interested in checking it out for yourself. I’m sure you’ll find some cool things. More stores are opening up in the days to come. Thanks for watching.😃
They need to update the concourses to match the new main terminal building.
I tend to agree actually. Hopefully more updates will happen when phase 2 is completed. And I personally would love to see a moving walkway to help get from one end to the other. That’s the only thing I see missing so far. Thanks for stopping by, take care.😊
Flew out last Wednesday, mid-moring during the opening, absolutely love the new terminal but TSA-Pre was a complete mess. And yes, I recognize that it will get better if not already.
Oh yes… TSA. Now I have many gripes about TSA throughout the United States. As much as I appreciate their commitment to security, they can be a bit disorganized from airport to airport. I’m sure that a PDX they will get their act together, but just know that it’s not just in Portland that TSA can be complicated to navigate.
Thanks so much for watching and have a great day.😃
When flying out of rdm/ bend ; I’ll have to schedule layover flights in PDX and see it
It would actually be worth the layover. Have a slice of pizza and explore for an hour or so before your connection flight. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it. Hope you’re well.🙂
I think you're in the wrong career. You should be with the local news.!!!
Ha ha. Thank you so much for saying so.
It’s like my mother always said, “You have a great face for radio!” Ha ha.
I hope you’re doing well. Thanks for stopping by.😁
@@valenciaflyer face for radio is a funny line. You documented that opening with precision. This video is very unique. Most flight attendants on TH-cam don't capture this type of content. Keep it coming !! Bravo!!
The concourse connector was there pre renovation, they took it out during and just reopened it. So it’s not “new” it was just closed for 5 1/2 years.
Oh, I see. Good to know. That connector could use a walk-in platform in my opinion. It’s pretty long and takes a while to get from one end to the other. Hopefully one day we will see that and it will make getting around that much easier. Thanks for the comment, have a wonderful evening.😃
@@valenciaflyer I worked at PDX from 2002-2014, when they installed the connector originally it did have walking floors in it. Surprised they didn't put them in again.
I flew out of PDX the day the new terminal opened. I was very impressed with the new terminal. It had been some years since I had flown out of the airport. I cant say I was impressed with the concourse. It was dated and really needs more and varied restaurant selections. Evidentally alot of restaurants no longet seem to
be at this airport. Concourse
really needs to be updated. Otherwise the terminal is beautiful and definitely impressive.
You had to be on Concourse D. The other concourses are different. For the greatest restaurants, you should have wandered over to Concourse C.
@@pacmanc8103 Yes I was on Concourse D. Thanks for the info on the other Concourse. I'm glad to hear better restaurant selections on the other Concouses. I would think with Concourse D having Intl Flights, that the Concourse would be more appealing. Hopefully an update is planned.
@@MrGlendale111 The D concourse itself was designed a decade before 9/11, when most restaurants were located in the main terminal. When Phase 2 of the terminal is done, there will be lots of restaurants on the TSA-secure side of the D and E concourses.
There were kind of 3 phases. They had to decommission the "A" gates (ick terrible place to be) and open the 'new' B gates (basically all Horizon flights for Alaska passengers). Apparently this was one positive of the COVID-19 pandemic as it allowed them to do this phase more quickly.
The new "B" gates area is lovely to wait in, with local coffee establishment "GOOD" on the level with the gates and just up the escalator a version of local favorite Southern restaurant Screen Door.
In 2024-2026 this will now take a little more time to reach as Alaska will be building a new elite flyer lounge on the soon to be constructed mezzanine above the former TSA and concessions lobby for the B/C gates and a pedestrian concourse will be used from the new checkpoint to reach this area.
(However, all B/C/D/E gates are all now re-connected past TSA, no more exit and re-entry necessary)
Hey there, Ben. Thanks for your comment. Super interesting information you shared with us. I honestly did not know much of that. Hopefully you get to see the new terminal for yourself soon. Thanks again for watching and have a wonderful evening.😁
Seatac now looks like a dump compared to PDX. I always liked PDX way better than Seatac, even before this big renovation. Seatac is just boring, filty, and outdated.
SeaTac can be a little complicated to navigate. I know for me being based there it can be challenging. But I do believe that they are in the process of updating it as well. Not sure when that’s going to be completed but hopefully soon.
PDX is shaping up to be a very nice airport with some more additions coming in the next couple years. Can’t wait to see how that turns out when they unveil phase 2. Thanks for your comment and for watching. 😊
Edward Spring
Hopefully they updated the restrooms
“Oops… I knew we forgot something!”
Just kidding. 🤪
They need a dress code now. No more pajamas people !!!! Stay classy
Ha ha. Imagine what the people in the 1940s would say if they looked into the future. They’d probably have a coronary. But I get it. Sometimes it’s nice to fly in comfy clothes. Ha ha.🙂
bro you’re tweaking if you think imma go through a 8 hour flight with dress pants or jeans😭 imma keep my pajamas on
@@Killamoth700 Haha! True. 😃

Does KCM have no metal detector or X-ray?
Hello Brent. Thank you for the question.
So KCM does not have a metal detector when you are able to go straight through. But when they randomly select you for a screening, then you cannot go straight through and must go through the scanners. That is what we call getting ‘randomed’.
So it’s a 50-50 on whether you’re going to be selected.
Hope that helps. Thank you for watching and have a great day.😄
Anyway I could get a copy of my interview?
I forget if you said I could get a copy of my interview. Please let me know
\❤❤❤❤😊😊😊
Thank you so much for watching. Have a wonderful day.😀
This does not follow the 'keep PDX weird' mantra. Looks like those 6 lumber mills that closed
this past year jumped the gun.
Hello there. I don’t know about the lumber yards closing, but I do know that these pieces were created at least five years ago. So I don’t know if there’s any association with that.
Thanks for watching! 😊
Moving too fast give viewers headaches!
Sorry about that. It was a fast moving thing to capture. Have a good one.
Let's see. Public access. Bench seating. Power outlets. Front door Max service. This place is going to be crawling with bums when the weather turns....
Hopefully not. 😃
