Landscaping with palm trees drives me nuts. You're in the beautiful Pacific Northwest! Some of the most gorgeous flora in the world. And you go with a tropical theme? WTH is wrong with you? When in Rome...!
This house has been on the market for a while. I drove up there and viewed it up close. I love the modern style! I have actually saved it in my Zillow wish list.
I grew up in Portland. If my job was to build something that would convince a millionaire he’s buying prime real estate I would’ve spent a little bit more time and effort.
Amazing tour and camerawork, Matt. Crazy how this same house would be 30 mill+ if you teleported it into the Hollywood Hills area. That view of the Portland skyline is ridiculous.
We have to agree, just like staging, the furniture helps sell the home so with that said, does some or all furniture seen come with the price of the home?
Looks dated and cold. No personality, reminds me of the early 2000’s with so much gloss and shine. Mirrors everywhere. Looks like a clump…from the outside. Reminds of a hotel…Vegas vibes. And then the exotic plant theme? When the PNW has nothing but beauty to offer…you go for palm trees? 🤦🏻♀️ Almost 9 mil for what? Nah…
$8.5 million? For a 7500 sq ft, three (really two) bedroom house? Someone's been smoking the good stuff. The views of the city are nice, but not $8.5 million nice.
Cold, uninviting, depressing...artificial turf and palm trees in entrance, so Pacific Northwest! Not. Portland has some gracious, lovely homes. This is not one of them. Atrocious
@@MatthewTercekexactly everyone eating up the house. But I wonder how many have architecture degrees 🤔... but definitely everyone is entitled to their opinions 🤣
The design of the house will age poorly, the overall theme appears to be glossy everything. Feels like a Vegas hotel. A true wasted opportunity to show case the PNW style and the view…

That was my initial thought, too. It's almost kitschy in a Vegas kind of way and that is not good. Like someone else commented, just because it's expensive, doesn't mean you should use it. I enjoyed the views, though.

Impressive furniture my ass! That furniture looks like it belongs in Patrick Bateman's apartment... Zero warmth, while at the same time making you feel like you dropped into someone's early 90s Manhattan condo... Portland is dull and gray 8 months out of the year, why bring that coldness into your living space year round?

Do as the Romans do
One of my neighbors did something similar, trying to bring a Hawaii vibe. It just looks so out of place.
AWE, I love the owners....Portland Tan Ken :) Such great givers to PORTLAND. Fun Fact! I babysat Justin, and his siblings, when he was a toddler.
This house is straight out of a movie it gives early 2000’s ultra futuristic aesthetic, with a teenage rom com vibes

Love that!
The stonework in the primary bath is beautiful!. Also liked the rug in the wine room.
Gorgeous view! I could spend hours just staring out those windows.
You and me both!

This is a great example of just because it’s really expensive doesn’t make it a great piece of architecture.
Exactly! It looks horrible
Like a parking garage
Wow, that house is lifeless. Everything is so utilitarian. Blerg. Get some plants in there, bro! With all that natural light, it's a crime not to.
Plants would definitely thrive !
Really Tan Portland Ken. 😂
All I’d think about is erosion and that house sliding down that hillside.
Right? I feel the same when I drive down burnside from the hills. Like I could see the underside of houses!
Totally agree with this sentiment!
Mr. Sloy has entered the conversation :)
Looks like a polished version of a utility building from the street, it's only missing a white van in the driveway with ladders on the roof.
Beautiful home with stunning views! Great video!
Thanks so much!
Such a beautiful house! Keep it up, Matt!
Thank you! Will do!
My wife already said no, too many landslides up in the West Hills.

I read somewhere the wealthy are leaving Portland. Who would want to burden themselves with the maintenance and taxes to own this property?
Some are but there is always movement in the upper end. I'm sure they will find buyer eventually!
Should have hired an architect
And here JUST on the outside, where the bums pitch their tents and pallet shacks, we have GORGEOUS masonry...
No soft touch cabinetry ? Can’t have slamming cupboards.
