Wow, thanks for an alternative to replacing the solenoid of the Idle cut off valve. Mine is on the Weber 32 DFTA carburetor.

So, the electric wire that was connected to solenoid...can I use that live wire to run a 12 volt petrol pump?

Yes you can, although personally I would wire that through an inertia switch so the circuit is broken in the event of an accident.

Hi, my solenoid is not working and there is no wire connected to the spade clip, do you know what energises the solenoid? thanks

Positive power feed that is live with the ignition. Most commonly taken from the coil area.
