Gearbox Collar removed whilst in WRONG Gear - Talbot Express/Peugeot J5/Citroen C25/Fiat Ducato Mk1

It is highly recommended to select REVERSE or 5th gear before removing the collar on these gearboxes however in this demonstration I do it in FIRST to provide assistance to a customer who had done this and was understandably concerned.

What would you suggest Is my issue , same box stuck in reverse, column shift , I cannot get it out . I have removed the linkage and it’s still stuck
