Cosmic encounter when you first start, is such a different game from cosmic encounter when you've got a few plays under your belt. They're both great, but it really shines with experience. That's why I think at the end of the day, the red alert aliens are always the most cosmic-y ones, and the ones that really make you say "Ooh, I'd love to try that one."
Cloak???!!?? Ill have to give it another look. Never gave it too much thought. Judge on the other hand that is one tough cookie monster. Cosmic Zap is the only way to deal with that one.
My favorite alien is hands down the dictator. I love having complete control of the destiny deck. I also really love the Oligarch, because then I have similar control. However, playing as Oligarch basically guarantees that I have no friends for the entirety of the game, haha. I personally like aliens which have the ability to use their power every encounter, and those that change a core rule of the game in some way. I really dislike aliens that simply increase your attack value or number of ships in an encounter, because that's the least interesting part of the game for me. And aliens which only get to use their power when they win an encounter are similarly unfun for me. You've said before that you like hand-management aliens, and I'm pretty neutral toward them. Having a good hand is nice and all, but sometimes it seems that prioritizing a good hand makes me forget to even go for points. And so often, having an amazing hand only really guarantees you a single encounter, and no more afterwards, since everybody will be against you immediately after you display that your hand is great. Whereas dictator has a constantly-used power, so cosmic zap is only a minor nuisance, and his power gives him a semi-subtle, constant increase in power level rather than an occasional great release of massive power. Dictator is basically never ganged-up against, because he never genuinely threatens to win an encounter solo, but the power is still very strong because it indirectly gives you the ability to manage your hand by picking and choosing which encounters you'll have most of the time.
Regarding Saboteur, I was thinking of making my own tokens. So you have 1 Trap and 4 Decoys per player to cover all the planets. Do you think that would work?
I use the normal amount but have no restrictions about how many tokens are next to a planet and also count a token between two planets as being adjacent to both. Saboteur reveals any one token next to a planet when ships land on it.
Hello Jack! I have some questions about Grudge alíen card and a rule of the game 1. Are grudge tokens unlimited? Or each time the affected player discards it, it is not usable anymore. Last week we played and we couldn't figure out how to play that specifically. 2. Whenever you retrieve a ship from the warp, you have lost a planet, and your other planets have 4 ships stacked. What happens? Do you regain that planet or do you add an extra ship to any of the planets that have 4 ships beforehand. Btw I love your videos, they are very informative. Greetings from Mexico and keep up the good work!!!
At the end of the encounter, Grudge collects all of the tokens back, and then can dispense them again the next time Grudge is a main player. The tokens are just FFG's way of helping players remember whether or not they were invited. Strictly speaking, you don't need them (no other edition of CE used tokens for Grudge). As for question 2: There is no ship limit to a planet. You can have all 20 of every player's ships on one planet. You do not get to retrieve a ship and place it on a home planet where you have no ships. So just stick it on a planet with 4 ships. You can also place that ship on one of your foreign colonies, or simply place it right on the hyperspace gate (which is what you must do if you have absolutely no colonies).

You say fantasy flight’s saboteur doesn’t really work. Why is that?
It’s too easy to avoid the marked planets, and when you can’t avoid one, odds are decent it’s safe.

Is Cosmic Odyssey included in this?
No. Berserk is not really adding any more content to TTs officially, but there’s a mod in the workshop that adds it.
@@jackredathewarp What is Berserk and TTs?
