    I absolutely love your videos btw! I watch every single one. It helps keep cosmic encounter in my mind when I don't get to play it as much as I'd like ❤️

    Looove the Swindler. The whole game gets so delightfully weird when it’s in play.

    Explorer's super flare also uses the Genesis planet!

    I also have a question about silencer. We had it in our past game and we weren't sure exactly what a silence player could or could not do. It's sheet says that a silenced player can not use optional powers or abilities.
    What exactly is an "ability"? This term is not used anywhere else in the game as far as I can remember. The list of things I can think of that it might mean includes Artifacts, reinforcements, Intimidates, moon/satellite powers, putting ships on research projects/evolutions ect. Are all of these optional abilities?

      It only would include something with “optional” as a condition- which I can’t think of.

      @@jackredathewarp so it specifically only stops alien powers and alliances? all of the other things I mentioned are allowed?

      @@glendavis4444 I tried to be as clear as I could with what Silencer affects- talking, alliances, invoking optional powers. You would likely need to include a super flare that is tied to optional power usage- but otherwise playing cards is allowed. I would argue with the wording they ultimately employed that other effects like moons or space stations that describe “you may….” as optional abilities though it was not the original intent. How did you end up ruling and what was the reaction?

      @@jackredathewarp we said that you basically couldn't do anything other then play an encounter card as that is the only mandatory step. It was harsh but it only lasted for a single encounter, so no biggie.
      The partial silence is weird as it doesn't ever go away until you break your silence. So we basically just immediately sent one ship to the warp after full silence ended as that was an inevitable penalty anyway. I think partial silence should only last one encounter as well otherwise it may as be re-written as "lose a ship"

      @@glendavis4444 don’t forget- lose a random card is also a potential penalty and can often be just as painful

    Do you think sloth might be better if it's power was just to always choose last whenever allying? It would make it a bit stronger and less fiddly.

    • @jackredathewarp
      @jackredathewarp  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It would certainly be better, but still not very impressive. In low player counts, it would hardly improve at all. I have an Alt-Timeline variation of Sloth that I use in TTS, and it's much better- still uses a Sloth token too.

    If 2 planets are entangled due to Particles power, does this entangled rule also counts for the other players?

      Only Particle gains the effects.
